I never considered Jim a "clean comic", he's one of my favorites. In fact I didn't even realize he was a clean comic until I heard it mentioned.
Nay I never even thought about it either until I heard him talking about how he performed for the Pope once. I guess he was asked because he is considered clean.

Yea he's just an insanely good comic, period. People are always impressed that he can be as good as he is clean, when so many other comics use being dirty as a cheat code/crutch. But whether or not Jim Gaffigan is clean or not is truly irrelevant in the end: he's just a very very insanely good comic. Who just so happens to be the kind you can listen to infront of the in-laws and still laugh as hard as you would to absolutely anything else

Gaffigan gives me faith in the human race, so funny.
I used the brain surgery-joke while observing as one of my professors was extracting a brain-tumour a couple of months back. Basicly he was explaining how they use a combination of x-ray and colouring-agent to navigate during surgery and that sometimes it's quite complex due to the brain shifting when the skull is opened.
To this I answered: "Well, at least it actually is brain-surgery."
He calmly paused his movements, removed his instruments and then giggled like a little girl before proceeding. :-P
You were supposed to say, well it can't be that hard, I mean, it's not rocket science.
I’m sure the patient wouldn’t have appreciated that joke after coming to
FISABILILLAH I find it hard to believe someone would find that to be offensive.
FISABILILLAH when someone has such a serious job with no room for error, and little time for a personal life, it helps to have a sense of humor, and to try to enjoy your work. I feel like patients feel more at ease with a confident, yet compassionate surgeon. If they’re funny, it’s a bonus.

Gaffigan is so skilled bc he’s hilarious without swearing. He actually has to be funny/clever and not just go for shock value. I like that he doesn’t feel the need to get political....even though Colbert is trying to get him in that zone.

Of course most comedians or actors who want to work will agree with the most vile leftist BS out there for fear of losing their income. Oh my thank you for that visual of the doctor running into you in the cafeteria! I could imagine that... you think your loved ones being operated on so you go to the cafeteria to get your mind off things and grab a bite and you see the surgeon in the cafeteria as well! That was hilarious.

Truly enjoy Jim Gaffigan, I hope he is well aware of the joy and laughter his perspective brings to a lot of people.

I really enjoyed this interview, i really like Jim. I feel that he wasn’t “on” the whole time and it was kinda refreshing to hear him just have a conversation.

Jim's one of my favorites and what first attracted me was that he IS clean. I can listen to those who aren't, but they're not my go-tos and I don't listen to them over and over like I do Jim G., Brian Regan, Dennis Regan, Seinfeld.
Excellent comment! I listen to all sorts of comedians, but now I'm introducing the art of standup comedy to my grammar school aged kids and my go-tos are the four you mentioned.
I had tickets to see Jim in San Diego this June. Our show was the only one cancelled on his tour due to scheduling conflicts. 😭

It is kinda nice to go somewhere and not hear cursing for an hour.
Krk Patterson at one time, throwing in a little salty language was something to add emphasis or a bit of edge, but so many people say fuck in every sentence now that it doesn't add anything. It's like saying "um".
I'm not offended by it (Navy vet) but it gets annoying. It's nice to see someone who doesn't find it necessary.

i’m glad jim’s comedy was always clean because he’s the first stand up comedian i was allowed to listen to when i was younger! my dad always had to skip all the other comedians when he would play it in the car for us, but his stuff was always hilarious and appropriate! :)
One of my favorite things was when these two guys played sports announcers in The Love Guru, pure comedy gold.
Jim Gaffigan's comedy is so great. Good clean wholesome comedy the whole family can enjoy. No pottymouth language like some comedians use. So fucking wholesome!

If you think about it when you’re with your good friend you both are all over each when it comes to talking. I noticed that about Colbert. Different Chemistry with people he genuinely likes.

That's very weird. I was just watching Gaffigan Colbert clips a couple days by coincidence, and here's a brand new interview.
Absolutely love Jim, I saw him at Carolines comedy club in New York back in like 2003ish and I knew he was gonna be big and likewise with Louis CK when I saw him at the same place a few years later. I just had no idea how long these guys had been doing comedy prior to myself ever having heard of them. It was like they were completely new comics ok n the scene to me and just the other day I saw Louis doing his act back in 1988. It's so impressive how long these guys have to stick it out before they become really famous doing comedy. That has to be seriously hard to do and you must really really love what you do to stay in it that long. I have nothing but admiration for anyone trying their hand at comedy.

He’s just stupid about everything else (one nurse told me that’s not too unusual among surgeons). He’s also a compulsive liar. He told a lot of tall tales about himself that got checked out, and found to be false, when he ran fro president.
