I'm a year and half into this and have made two grand. So has my wife and her mum also. So if you're on the fence about doing this, just start. The banks will happily rob you blind so take something back. It's your money, go get it.

yes, its not a lot of money but if you have relatives that are not techy you can do it for them too and take a share or anyway its free money for the family/clan

What bewilders me is that credit reports do not refer to your savings! One could have a moderate c.r. yet have good savings.

Used to work at metro bank around 7 years ago - they never would run any switching incentive and so far stuck to that.

I do LLoyds simply because I can open it in the app. I get the card and code within the week and it doesn't affect my easy savers or my club account. Ot at least hasn't so far.

Dummu account preparation: What shall we do to prepare that dummy account? For example: have some money in there, make some payments, set up direct debits,,,

If you switch from chase with the second account and input the card number - does it affect using the card on your main chase account and the 1% Cashback feature? Thanks

I wasn't sure about the legality of this, and it seems I've been missing out on a lot of free money all along. 😂

Basic bank accounts do not allow more than one current account. It's in the terms. A clause says that if the customer has access to another current account they will close this one, or words to that effect. Clause 12.2 in the Natwest current account terms.

Hi Andy. Thanks for your content, always really helpful. One question...how long after creating a Chase dummy account (extra current account with sort code and account n.o) should I wait until I take advantage of a switch deal...lets say the new one NatWest has announced.

So if I set up a dummy current acct it will need to have 2 or 3 S/O's those will need funding either from my existing current account or directly from another source.
That's just one switch seems time consuming there on, to keep track of this tangled web as not willing to ditch existing current account......or am I over thinking this in your opinion...?

    • @TheWealthUniversityOfficial
      @TheWealthUniversityOfficial 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@markflatters9819 why u starling for an overdraft just use a credit card ZERO INTEREST FOR 30 days!
With every bank it’s daily interest 9% is not good or 50% it’s not good.
Overdraft is only good for taking money out for a few hours then putting it back in a few hours later.

I genuinely would like to but I don’t know how or what I’d even need to do, what do I do with the direct debits? I feel like it would be very confusing getting all the details to tell the new bank of all the things you’re paying, how do you transfer the money to the new bank? What about savings accounts? How does that work if you’ve got a current account as well as a savings account with the same bank?

My guess is maybe Santander or HSBC in March because they haven't done them for a while but seem to quite often.
First Direct switching was usually followed by a switch offer the month after it ended by HSBC for 2021 and 2022 and 2023
It could be anyone though, I got caught out by Barclays doing a switch recently and I'd used them for a burner the month before (because they hadn't done a switching deal in years before their recent offer) and thus they wouldn't accept me back again when I'd literally just switched from them the week before. 😢

I'm 30 now been with Halifax since I was 16. Does this mean I can just never close this bank account if I don't want the sudden drop in my credit score?
I was just going to use this to switch as Halifax has no decent incentive to stay but might have to go with Chase now for all the current accounts 😂
