I would use the warm white bulbs in both carriage lights on the porch in a low wattage, say 25, so they don't wash out the twinkle lights but add enough light to walk safely. Love the lions. Yes, to the card exchange, I still send them.
You always find the best treasures at your thrift stores and what you shared in this video is no exception. The curtain panels will be just perfect in your kitchen and what a find the bead garlands and candles were. Your front entry looks amazing!!
Love your old fashioned Christmas decor! It’s so sweet and comforting. I will wait to put out my Christmas until after Thanksgiving… although I couldn’t resist putting up a tree in the Lania while my sister was visiting us in Florida! We enjoy the lights at night. I will do my best sticking with traditional decor that makes me happy! Sounds like a baby is on the way, how exciting! All white lights, no blue..👍🏻🕊️
I love your porch. I think I like the blue out there. Reminds me of a night sky with twinkle lights. I'd love an exchange of Christmas cards. And my favorite is that you don't care if others like it, you love it.
Lovely work. Regarding carriage lights...If clear glass, I would apply frosted window cling to soften light. My choice of light bulbs would be a warm light, lower wattage for ambience or maybe consider the option of those amazing flame bulbs. Keep us updated!
Lynsey, Classics are always the Winner. Just a little suggestion, I think if you change the carriage light to a low watt bulb, it would blend with the ambiance of both your front door area and lighted pathways. I also collect Christmas and Holiday decor through the year, when it jumps out at me while thrifting. I always try and come up with new ideas, to keep it fresh. The Holiday decor that needs to move on, I donate, feel good helping folks discover new items for their home. Can’t wait to hear your future plans for your French adventure.❤️🇫🇷❤️. My bag is behind my bedroom door, ready to help rake out your kitchen herb area and your French garden. Have a wonderful week, I know you will keep those creative juices boiling over, till next week 😊💃🎄.
Yes when I grew up in England we never put lights outside because not many people could afford the electricity .The trees in the window were the only thing lit .I was thinking of a Victorian style Christmas .
I love your ideas for an old fashioned Christmas. I have always leaned towards the more Victorian/antique style with old books, vintage santas, antique ornaments, etc.. I love to send cards but almost no one does that anymore. I'd LOVE to do a card exchange! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for sharing the wonderful outdoors Christmas decorations it very nostalgic for me and I would love to do a care exchange also. Have a wonderful blessed Sunday.
So funny and serendipitous you posted this, my husband just said the exact same thing about an old-fashioned Christmas this year. I'll send him this video!
Lovely video. I'm not crazy about the flashing lights, either. I do love the twinkle lights. The nostalgic placemats are adorable. I am looking forward to your next video. Have a great day. Take care. ❤
In the past few years I too have simplified my Christmas decor, going back to a more natural Christmas. While watching your video I realized that I won’t be decorating outside too much as we have a 5 month old female black lab that loves to rearrange and hide things. Especially Amazon deliveries!
I loved all your thrift pics and I thought as long as you have your lights on twinkle it doesn’t matter if the color matches. I like the carriage lights so fun. I have two that I pulled the decor off of them and I am going to put new ribbons and flowers on them for Christmas. God Bless you and your family. Hope your son is doing much better.
Your outdoor lights look 👀 great as is… I like the blue ish tone as well. I make my own Christmas cards and send them out yearly. It would be fun to be part of a card exchange, let me know ❤
Hi Lynsey! I'm friends with Tarnished Treasures too! Can't wait to see your nursery idea, the ponies are adorable👍 I wish I could make my own pillowcases, but I don't own a sewing machine and sewing by hand takes up too much time lol...I spend all my time making videos now 🤣
The picture frames are really cute. I had thought about wooden candle stick holders just the other day! So homey and primitive looking. I would love to find a pair, but they're hard to find. I like the blue lights. You confirmed what I'd heard about Christmas in Europe. Many Europeans dont decorate for Christmas with as much pomp as americans do. I guess it has to do with how consumerist american culture is. I've also heard that the only holiday the french decorate for is Christmas and it's way more reserved than in america.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to exchange Christmas cards! And I gotta say, it may not be the look you are going for, but the flashy lights are an interesting contrast to your aesthetic. Its like English Victorian Country House Disco. I say go for it! Thank you again for sharing your lovely work!
Great video. It has inspired me to get out my decor and start assessing what i have and what i need…as for the card exchange- if it was in 2020, i think i was involved in the same one- in fact, i am in Canada- Ontario too and it is possible we exchanged cards! I have not checked yet but that was, as you said, an amazing experience with like-minded people!
Love your channel and your Christmas decor. ❤️ You have inspired me to change up my decor, and although it will take some time, your videos keep me on track. I would definitely be interested in a card swap.
I just love lights, twinkling lights, solid, bright just all! Are your lions resin? I’ve always loved them but moving if concrete would be a nightmare! As always you got some amazing finds! Id love to be in on the Christmas card exchange.
Loved yr video. Have you thought of turning off the wall lights and putting a plain spotlight angled from the porch down the stairs & walk for safety, but which leaves the twinkle lights more highlighted? Might work even better if placed in the garden. Hope all's well!
The front porch is great. I'm not sure what you mean regarding the "lights". For me, not a big fan of strobing/flashing/ bright lights, but I think you said once you find the remote you'll make it the twinkling lights (which I love). And you seem to really find great deals. Wish I lived near you & we could go thrifting together, I'd probably learn a lot from how you see & find things 🙂 I love xmas cards, but they have gotten so expensive & of course then the postage of sending them is why I think people have given it up, plus now with technology they just send gif's (which btw I can't receive because I use a flip phone! I have too many computers in my life I don't need that as well LOL). But it might be fun to have card exchange.
Regrading the porch lights. Try a smaller watt bulb or an Edison bulb. The blue seems too much, in my opinion, but you need to do what YOU feel is right and to your enjoyment! Cheers!
I’d do a card exchange,I think you’d be interested in cards I had printed from some of my Christmas paintings of typical British Christmasses in the 1950s 60s x
lovely!!!! I still send Christmas cards!m Love the feeling it gives me!
I love sending Christmas cards too! It’s such a thoughtful tradition.
I truly love your videos, you are a comfort.❤ I needed this one. Thank you from the U.S.
Right? I just want to watch Lynsey all day everyday for the next, I don't know, four years maybe?
Same here Ellen 😢 !! Bad week !
Add me to the group! 💓
So glad you liked it, thank you! ❤️
Linsey, please give us an update on your home in France. Love your channel.
Thanks! I will definitely do that in the future.
I would use the warm white bulbs in both carriage lights on the porch in a low wattage, say 25, so they don't wash out the twinkle lights but add enough light to walk safely. Love the lions. Yes, to the card exchange, I still send them.
Thanks so much. I will change out the bulbs and lots of people seemed interested in the card exchange🎄
Lovely memories. So I like just the twinkle lights but with a white or blue spotlight placed down off the steps pointing at the door.
I love the twinkle lights. 🎄
You always find the best treasures at your thrift stores and what you shared in this video is no exception. The curtain panels will be just perfect in your kitchen and what a find the bead garlands and candles were.
Your front entry looks amazing!!
Thanks! I love a good thrifting adventure.😊
Everything was beautiful to me, Lynsey! So many great thrifted finds, also. I would absolutely love a Christmas card exchange. 🎅🤶❤
Thanks for the compliments! And a Christmas card exchange sounds delightful 😊
Wonderful decor and treasures! Looking forward to the next video, as always!
Thank you! I'm excited to share my next project. 🎄

I love your porch. I think I like the blue out there. Reminds me of a night sky with twinkle lights. I'd love an exchange of Christmas cards. And my favorite is that you don't care if others like it, you love it.
I love a nice Christmas card. 🎄

Yes when I grew up in England we never put lights outside because not many people could afford the electricity .The trees in the window were the only thing lit .I was thinking of a Victorian style Christmas .
It was all so different back in the Uk 🎄
Love the hallway, I love William morris also
Its become a bit of an obsession 😉
I love your ideas for an old fashioned Christmas. I have always leaned towards the more Victorian/antique style with old books, vintage santas, antique ornaments, etc.. I love to send cards but almost no one does that anymore. I'd LOVE to do a card exchange! Thank you for sharing!
It is always fun to do the old-fashioned things for Christmas.
Love the look of your front porch and how you change it with the season, Lynsey.
I would also enjoy a Christmas card exchange!
Thank you so much! I love changing it up for each season. 🎄
Thank you for sharing the wonderful outdoors Christmas decorations it very nostalgic for me and I would love to do a care exchange also. Have a wonderful blessed Sunday.

Oh boy at least if the packages get missing you know where they are 🎄
great job I always enjoy your videos, and I learn new creative ways thankyou
Thanks for watching! I hope you find them helpful.

lol love the idea of the Victorian disco 💃🎄❤️
Thanks! I love that idea! My Victorian disco Christmas 🎄

Oh wow that’s great. Christmas isn’t the same with no cards.
Love your channel and your Christmas decor. ❤️ You have inspired me to change up my decor, and although it will take some time, your videos keep me on track. I would definitely be interested in a card swap.
Thanks! I love getting Christmas cards I miss them 🎄👍
I have a photo of my younger sister and me at the Grotto and she has a little blue coat and bonnet on with fur trim ,
Oh I’ve got some great ones from my childhood 🎄
Greetings from rural Texas! Another wonderful video!
I would LOVE to do a Christmas card swap!!!
I think that is a fabulous idea!
❤❤❤
I just love lights, twinkling lights, solid, bright just all! Are your lions resin? I’ve always loved them but moving if concrete would be a nightmare! As always you got some amazing finds! Id love to be in on the Christmas card exchange.
The lions and not resin they are like concrete with fibres in. I love them 🎄
Very nice.
Thank you! Cheers!

That's a great idea! the problem is the only outside outlet is on the back side of the house 🥹 I have to run my lights from the light bulb.
A good no-outlet solution is a motion sensor solar light. I have one on my back deck for the dog....but she's not spoiled 😁
I would love to be part of a Christmas card exchange!
Perfect 🎄
I love old fashioned style Christmas decorations too 🎄they make me feel cosy and nostalgic, do I detect a Midlands accent there? 🤔🇬🇧
I think it’s definitely more prevalent as we age. And yes I was born and raised about 10 miles outside Birmingham 🇬🇧
@ ah I thought so as I’m from Birmingham and your accent is very familiar to me 😊
@ what part are you from I was born in Bearwood, over by warley Woods. It was a lovely place.
The front porch is great. I'm not sure what you mean regarding the "lights". Yes, I do love finding great deals! It’s all about the thrill of the hunt 😊
Regrading the porch lights. Try a smaller watt bulb or an Edison bulb. The blue seems too much, in my opinion, but you need to do what YOU feel is right and to your enjoyment! Cheers!
I agree, it is a bit much! I'll keep that in mind.🎄
Absolutely amazing
Thank you 🙏
Love your videos very inspiring. Would love to do a card swap!!
