It’s a real shame isn’t it, the beach is such a flexible vehicle. I wanted exactly that but in the end opted for the 4motion multivan instead and plan to put a roof tent on it!
Hi Jeremy - good noticing! Interestingly the entire T6.1 range has new door mechanisms and door locks and is a marked improvement over the T6... We were surprised too! Cheers Mark.
Hi Mark, thanks for the video. Are both the twin sliding doors and pop-up roof standard from VW factory? (Seems most VW California Beach I've seen so far has the pop-up roof but only with one sliding door on the side. Really like the twin sliding doors, very practical and feels more open and spacious.)
Australia has a requirement to have a passenger door on the left hand side. Instead of removing the right hand side, they leave it there as it is easier for production.
@@vwkombiman Thank you for your response. California Beach does not have side cabinets. California Beach should design two sliding doors in all car series to take advantage of it. It is a pity that in other markets there are only sliding doors on one side.
Great presentation. I need a little advice before I take the plunge. I need a camper van that is fit for purpose AND can be used as an everyday vehicle which can transport gear in the boot space. Basically a multi purpose vehicle. Which VW would you recommend? I’m based in Ireland. Thanks.
Hi Piotr thanks for the commend and question! The Diesel Heater is independent of operating the engine. You cannot run the vehicle air conditioner for cooling without running the engine. However in my experience an air con is not required - there is a lot of ventilation in the California plus you can add a cabin fan if necessary. Enjoy! Cheers Mark

$AUS100K for a VW Multivan with an electric pop-up roof, pass. Love the VanEssa rear kitchen, pricey but well built and designed.
