At NAC last year, I got my first sub 7 BPA. Since then, my main cubing goal has been to get a sub 7 square-1 average. After around 8 months of having a realistic shot at sub 7, I have finally done it! This has been a fantastic way to start my first world championship.

Solutions were pretty straight forward and not super lucky. PBL is getting better (ignore solve 2 🤷‍♂️), but CSP executions could use some work. OBL grind will start after worlds :)

Here are some PBL tips I have:
Learn ways different PLLs are affected (experiment/watch CubeMaster's PBL series)
Try not to learn too much at once
Train your PBLs using derpycuber.com (I personally need to do this more, it's really easy to overlook)
Force yourself to do new PBLs in solves
When doing 2alg PBL, make sure you are comfortable with your mid-ABFs (between algs), otherwise you will have an unnecessary pause

Do you always count your BPA when you feel like it can break your PR average?
And if you do, does it add extra pressure? And how do you deal with that extra pressure?

I usually don’t get BPA, especially when it could be PR. I think thinking about it adds more nerves, but it’s hard to avoid. I find that not calculating specific numbers helps, but it’s still pretty hard to deal with.

Yo in the first solve how did you do that P/Opp case so fast? Is there an alg? I usually do something like OPP/opp to j/j

Put the 2x2 P block in FL, and Opp bars on FB, then do either NJ // pNpN or pNpN NJ (which ever solves corners)
in this solve i did 0-1 t d U3' 01
