  • I’m Daniel and today im cleaning my spare propellers off my 1985 46ft sport fishing yacht! This is what i personally do, I know their is many ways to do it. These propellers are make of NIBRAL, made of nickel, brass, and aluminum. If you have a better way to restore and clean props drop it in the comments below!

Sick! Some definitely overlooked maintenance! Turned out great.

Thanks! I’m sure there are other ways to do it but a dirty prop can kill performance a lot more than people think!

Does that affect your pitch and cup on the prop?

So it is just removing the scale on the props so it definitely should not cause any changes. With that said if you take the props off the boat it is never a bad idea to get them sent to the prop shop and have them checked as they impact performance in so many ways!

Thanks! What’s the name of the wheel you’re using? Where do you get that abrasive pad?

@SouthFloridaFishingClub I’d have to double check the name of the pad but I got it at harbor freight for like 3$ I think it’s a nylon abrasive wheel

Very thought provoking how the propellor is a metaphor for our lives and how we accept so much extra negativity to ruin what could be an otherwise positive journey. Truly one of the philosophers of our time.
