What a fantastic video. I tried it with MS word and it worked perfectly. subscribing to your channel is paying off. Thanks Kevin for doing this. you're awesome !
I'm thrilled to have found it just in time to explain it to someone who used to have a secretary but now has to type on their own. The work is excellent. I've always said that if you tell me about jumping off a cliff, I might not do it right away, but I'll at least check how high it is.
OK this is going to be one of the most useful tools that I have found in all my life as a dyslexic it becomes tiring to type all the time especially since I am studying at the university thank you Kevin
I've been meaning to incorporate this into my workflow. I saw a video a while back using Google Voice Typing, what stood out to me was the ability to edit with your keyboard in conjunction with the STT. It looked like a smart way to work; I need to revisit these features.
i can not express how many hours this is going to save me in my preservation work. i was trying to figure this out for so long and was actively looking for good apps this is simple and very straightforward forward thank you so much. i will say usually typing is faster but my goodness when it is hard to decipher words it takes one thing i have to partially focus on out of the equation
hey Kevin,i see that it is an online function, wich means,it store voice clips on their servers, people shouldnt be surprised that hackers can use these voice clips and AI to fool someone to extort money, this is already happening, and would be made easier if they can grab how you talk from microsoft servers,as long as voice commands/speech typing isnt local i wont be activating/using this i would use the offline Dragon NaturallySpeaking instead, wich uses the following method: The hidden Markov model breaks down spoken words into their phonemes, while recurrent neural networks use the output from previous steps to influence the input to the current step. no voice clips are sent via internet
Looking forward to a complete video on Voice Acess. You can get number labels for everything and just say the number to click on any desired object in an app or on a web page. Great for people with disabilities but can be useful for anyone or if you're mouse or keyboard is for some reason not accessible.
Thanks, Kevin Useful as ever. We are working on a combination of narration and voice commands so that someone who is visually impaired can read a Word document back and stop and correct it as they go using voice commands. The dictation and narration are working well, now we are layering on the Windows voice commands, where your video has come in useful. Combining them all to revise text entirely by voice command is challenging.
Hi Kevin, I am trying out the voice recognition right now. It works really well. Thank you for the very easy to understand video. This has been extremely helpful.
おはようございますケビンさん素晴らしい機能の紹介をいただきありがとうございました。日本語でもこの機能は使えました。ありがとうございました。感謝 いたします! Good morning Kevin.Thank you very much for introducing this wonderful feature. This function is also available in English.Thank you very much!
Thank you, Kevin. That was wonderful and I am so eager to learn more by watching your videos. I was able to leave a comment using my voice. I am so excited.
Hello, Kevin, Thank you for that excellent tutorial on using the Microsoft dictation software. Just as you suggested, I went ahead and dictated this note to you. It seems to be working pretty well. I'm looking forward to using this in my work.
Kevin wonderful video I truly love getting your short tips and tricks on Windows 10 and computers. You have a wonderful presentation voice thanks again and keep up the good work.
when you said "oatmeal raisin", i was like "this guy 's choice in cookies SUCK"...then you said "delete last line"....and i'm like, OK, he's cool again :)
As someone with an accent, dictation is not very kind to me lol. I constantly have to rewrite a lot of the sentences. I do realize this is a “me” issue, and it probably does not apply to everyone. Ty for the video :).
I remember messing with Windows 7 dictate, and from what I recall it has to be trained. Meaning the more you use it, the better it gets at recognizing your voice.
@@SuperStarTidus18 this was maybe 2 years after Win 7 came out before I learned that it had this function, so 2011 - 2012 maybe? I have Win 10 now but haven't used dictate in it. I imagine it improved greatly in Win 10 vs 7. Find more videos on YT about it and play around with it more and see if it improves. I might open it up later tonight and see how it works now since I haven't messed with it in a decade. I'll let you know my results later on.
HI Kevin - can you maybe one day do a video on how to use "Polling" in an email? So many people have different ways to do this, but I'm sure, with your knowledge and expertise that you will be able to articulate and explain it better than the rest!!
We used to do that with OS/2 back in the 90's, which had VoiceType Dictation built in. It was ok once trained, but talking in an office makes no sense at all. It's a cute idea, but as impractical in a work setting as using voice-to-text on my iPhone.
I am making this comments using voice recognition I really enjoyed watching this video I hope to start using the set work specially special with Microsoft Excel.
Excellent demonstration! This could eliminate the need to hire a secretary. Amazing how far technology has come. I have this tool on windows 10, I tried but it only got to the `thinking` stage and sort of got stuck. I`m going to upgrade to windows 11 and try again.
Hello. I’ve learned so much from your Videos. Would you be able to tell help me? I often use Excel to type pack lists and sometimes, these list are quite large. Is there a way that I can use a microphone in Excel soI can speak into rather then me having to type the information out?
Nice tutorial... thanks! But did this function recently change? I now get a bar instead of box! (I would like to have back the box like in the tutorial. I am helping a half-blind senior... this function is very helpful but then new bar is too invisible.)
is there a wireless mic i can get that works with voice-to-text on my phone? i got one off amazone, bluetooth lavalier and it works, but not with the voice-to-text. help!
hi Kevin. I was just looking for feature where i can dictate calculation. like 331.78+456 equals” and hoping that it will calculate result. how can i do that?

Hey, is there something actually in reverse, what can it read and the voice can be used as voiceover for TH-cam, but something what TH-cam won’t say as it’s a google voice and rejects the monetized option ??
I am a blind senior who is working on using this with adaptive IT, thank you for your clear tutorial.
jesus christ loves you!
The fact that this is baked into windows, and I was looking for a program to do it. I absolutely appreciate you for breaking down.❤

A tutorial for VoiceMacro would be nice, as well.

Looks very powerful, but I still think traditional inputs are faster. This level of functionality on mobile on the other hand would be a game changer
This is my first time to try the feature. I'm so happy.

Opened a wonderful door for me - Thanks!
