There are many components to potty training. One plan I discovered which succeeds in merging these is the Sues Trainer Tactics (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the most useful treatment that I have ever seen.Check out all the unbelievable info .
Love this video Emily, my nearly 2 yr old has a similar personality to Caleb (crazy boys haha) and he is nearing time to move into his bigger bed, this video has helped so much!! X
Thank you that was really helpful😄 ... Can I ask you , when they slept at 8PM , do they wake up at 5PM?? And they wont take any nab?? Thanks again lovely Mom I love to see everyday 😊❤️❤️❤️
if you still have this problem I recommend an Alan clock I know with my two boys we got them color changing eggs or clocks but we do have a bunny one which worked a charm until my eldest worked out how to change the time.
Thanks for another great video. All these tips will help me when it's time. Caleb is doing so well for his age,new bed and potty and toilet training. Xx
Did you allow toys in his room during the transition or just some of his favourite lovies(stuffed animals)? Also did you try a nightlight, if so didn't help or not? Thanks very much! Love your videos, they are very helpful and a nice compass when I just need some advice.
Ah great tips Emily! We had move Sienna at 18 months as she would try to climb out and fall back and ended up hitting her on the cot bars, we ended up in hospital a few times! I hope Aria doesn't learn as quick haha xx
Thank for your sharing, my Samuel is 2 years 4 months and is climbing out of his crib so we are moving him to a big boy bed. What time do you put the boys to bed? We are working at 7 but he keeps getting up and finally falls asleep around 745. I have also been thinking about cutting back nap, he is usually down between 1hr and 1 1/2.
We do 7 pm as well but it's been taking so long we are getting closer to 7:30 now. We tried no nap yesterday and he was tired but made it through the day in a pretty good mood so we might try to cut it every other day to start xx
It’s our first night and mine went down at 8 after 10 minutes of petting his hair. I might have to cut our naps to so he’s more tired for bed because just like she said he goes down at 8 and gets up 5:30
Bea is literally moving out of her cot bed later today - and she is 4 in August! But she still fits fine in it, as it was basically just a small bed. The reason for the move - aside from it being waaay beyond time, is that she peed in it last week and the mattress is just too smelly as I didn't have a protector on!! DOH! Bunk beds from John Lewis arriving later - so excited - she will be on the bottom bunk obviously. Love those pictures of Caleb falling out of bed - too cute! I still pop cushions next to Bea's little bed! The pool noodle thing is GENIUS! Nice to pop by and see you Emily - you are glowing by the way! X
Our daughter fell out once too (after that she's all over the place, but hasn't fallen out another time). She's been in her big girl bed for nearly two months - also because her little brother needed it. Funnily she never gets out of bed alone at night. She asks or shouts for us sometimes to sing another song, but she never suddenly appears in the living room. All the best for you and Caleb, hopefully the blinds arrive soon and help too!☺
+Emily Norris ah,and I forgot to mention, we have a 'snake'cushion (basically like one of those long nursing pillows that are so wonderful for sleeping with a big baby bump too) that serves as a bit of a barrier. its as long as the bed itself. really colourful and she loves cuddling with it too.
Thanks for sharing your experience! My daughter has been in my bed since day 1 and I just can't get her out, she's 2 know. Bad I know! She has her own toddler bed too but just screams the house down when she's in it and I just give in. It's really hard as I'm in a 1 bedroom flat so she's in the same room as me. Any tips? Shall I just leave her to cry? X
Aw poor you it's so hard! My 5 year old is in our bed as we had to share to do some building work on his room and I don't think he'll ever want to leave us now. He's so happy in there. You could sleep train but it will be hard for about 3-4 nights 😱😱😭😭 if it doesn't bother you and your partner I'd keep her there but if your not getting enough sleep etc you could do the controlled crying method but it's so tricky xx
we tried to find green bed which his favorite color but end up by got 2hand blue bed with a little bar to avoid falling out of the bed. we thought just set it up and leave in his room to get to use with have a bed in the room because he loves his crib, he came and check new bed out then we sing a new bed song for big boy, i pretended to sleep there too. Normal bed routine, we gave him his bottle and he jump right up on new bed to enjoy his bottle instead try to climb to the crib. Then i think oh well, he chose it then i will respect his choose. Althought our 25m boy not talk yet but showed his interested in things very clear. i was worry, his door closed and i heard him wake up and play until 10pm (his bed time is 8pm) but no yelling, so new baby with get her crib earlier than we planned. Potty training failed, so we will have to try it again sometime soon
This is so useful I'll soon be doing a transition with my little one. Have a look at the gro sleep trainer clock it might help with him waking up too early. He did well. Hope you are keeping well in this hot weather. Can you believe you are now counting down weeks?
Those pictures of Caleb sleeping are precious! Maybe try adding epsom salt to the bath - the magnesium is great for sleep, and it helps me a lot. My two year old has only climbed out once, and I think it traumatized him. I hope I don't have to do this for a while! :) Kristin
@Emily Norris or someone.... please please help me 🙏🙏🙏 how to train my 1,5 year old girl to sleep under duvet? She slides out and gets very cold during the night. I’m completely lost, don’t know what to do... 😖
Naw, so cute that Caleb gets a wash from his big brother! :) I love Caleb's lightning bolt bed set - where is it from? I'd like to put one away for our seven month old :)
Diane Zelaya just softly tickling the back. like running your fingertips over the back. my mom used to do it to me and I still think it's one of the best feelings.
+Emily Norris I think I will try he is 28 months may be a bit early I don't know, but I'm also trying to potty train Jay at the moment your video on that was so helpful as I had no clue where to start so thanks for the push to start. We are making slow progress but he did do a wee today which has made my day! The things as mums get so happy about these days. Lots of love to you and baby xx
I did the 5.20 for nearly 3 years im afraid so no tips lol!I did move her in with her sister and she actually sleeps so much better!(not sure if its the company)we now have 6-6.45 at the latest!which I can deal with,I just think she's going to always be an early bird lol!xx
we had to do this with our daughter when she was 15 months old she was climbing out of bed it was dangerous so we went to a toddler bed she loves it :)
One possible tip that you could try is limiting his nap - try waking him up after 45 minutes and then gradually cut it back to 30 minutes etc - hopefully this means that he'll still be in a reasonably good mood but may sleep longer at night.
I have 3 kids under 4 similar to you and I'm wondering ,your kids have each there room ? Because I doesn't know what to do with my 4 year old and 2 year old they together now but it's doesn't go well all the time . Thank you Andrea
Yes i Will ,but example i dont ..not good lol ,but im thinking to put them in they own room before school start for the oldest one :) thank you so much to take the time to answer me :)
Lauren Nguyen I started my youngest at 12months like just saying to them you can sit on it whilst you watch the telly and then I started strait to toilet as my son didn't and still doesn't like the potty after spending £175 on a potty :(
Emily I swear u were referring to my son Oliver in this vlog, we are literally going through the same early 5am wake ups since we transitioned Ollie to his toddler bed a couple of weeks ago! Xx
+Emily Norris I think it's because they know they can just get up and get out of bed when they wake. I'm hoping it's a novelty and will soon wear off (fingers crossed!!) otherwise roll on winter and darker mornings lol!! Xx
We have just moved our 17 month old and found leaving him a book has helped him self settle. I find going in he thinks its a game. We also purchased a bed guard which prevents him falling out.
sorry if it commented a few times it wouldnt send. good luck! let us know how you get on. I've also seem people tape the time they want the kids to get up on a clock so that is all that shows and they have to wait for that. Apparently that is good too. x
supernanny tactics! loving your videos. we are trying to conceive and your videos make me so excited to have children some day.
Jessa Moffett were you successful? 😊

I know a lot of people use grow clocks may be too young but I have heard they are great
I love the pool noodle tip!

Thank you for sharing, Emily! You did so well on that first night!
I know I thought we'd cracked it but I'm so tired today xx

I might have to the wooden bits aren't doing enough really cx
love the toddler sleigh bed,can you tell me where I can buy this thanks 😊
Thanks for another great video. All these tips will help me when it's time. Caleb is doing so well for his age,new bed and potty and toilet training. Xx
I know so much change but he's taking it in his stride xx
Did you allow toys in his room during the transition or just some of his favourite lovies(stuffed animals)? Also did you try a nightlight, if so didn't help or not? Thanks very much! Love your videos, they are very helpful and a nice compass when I just need some advice.

Aw that's so nice that she never gets out! He's so far only fallen out once and he stayed asleep we only knew because we checked on him ha ha xx

If you have any more tips i would love to hear them. My twins will be moving to a toddler bed at the end of this year so im trying to be prepared!

Ooh I might try magnesium myself, I've always struggled to sleep xx
@Emily Norris or someone.... please please help me 🙏🙏🙏 how to train my 1,5 year old girl to sleep under duvet? She slides out and gets very cold during the night. I’m completely lost, don’t know what to do... 😖

Aw it won't be long until Jacob needs to 😱😱
+Emily Norris I know 😩 I'm really holding off, but your tips are brilliant! Reika co-slept so she was use to the bed Jacob isn't xx
Stacey Leigh I
how do you tickle someone to sleep? that sounds uncomfortable. I'm just confused. does tickle mean something different to you?
Diane Zelaya just softly tickling the back. like running your fingertips over the back. my mom used to do it to me and I still think it's one of the best feelings.
Diane Zelaya my mom still tickles me to help me fall asleep
Just because I'm only 8😂😂😂
Found this very interesting thanks x
Brilliant advice as always Emily I am going to try those tips with Jay and you're looking gorgeous! Xx
Aw thank you so much! Are you going to have to do it soon? 😱😱
+Emily Norris I think I will try he is 28 months may be a bit early I don't know, but I'm also trying to potty train Jay at the moment your video on that was so helpful as I had no clue where to start so thanks for the push to start. +Along Came Jay ha ha totally! I'd leave him as long as possible if he's sleeping well :-) xx
I did the 5.20 for nearly 3 years im afraid so no tips lol!I did move her in with her sister and she actually sleeps so much better!(not sure if its the company)we now have 6-6.45 at the latest!which I can deal with,I just think she's going to always be an early bird lol!xx
Great tips!!!! My toddler is 3 and still in the cot! I'm so afraid to transition to the bed!!!
I would keep them in a cot for as long as you can xx
I wish I looked as good as you when I was 8 months pregnant.
Get him one of those clocks that you can set and it will tell him if he can get up or not
How old is your son..im not sure when to start potty training
Panic watching this tonight as my little one's throwing himself out of the cot... Help! ❤️
we had to do this with our daughter when she was 15 months old she was climbing out of bed it was dangerous so we went to a toddler bed she loves it :)
OMG she learned so quickly to get out! Atleast she loves it xx
One possible tip that you could try is limiting his nap - try waking him up after 45 minutes and then gradually cut it back to 30 minutes etc - hopefully this means that he'll still be in a reasonably good mood but may sleep longer at night.
We might cut it completely every other day he didn't have a nap in Sunday and he wasn't too miserable :-) xx
I have 3 kids under 4 similar to you and I'm wondering ,your kids have each there room ? Because I doesn't know what to do with my 4 year old and 2 year old they together now but it's doesn't go well all the time . Thank you Andrea
They will all have there own rooms I bet they wake each other up :-( do you put them to bed at the same time? Xx
Yes i Will ,but example i dont ..not good lol ,but im thinking to put them in they own room before school start for the oldest one
:) thank you so much to take the time to answer me :)
Good video
Thanks Charlotte xx
What age would you say is good to start potty training ?
Lauren Nguyen I started my youngest at 12months like just saying to them you can sit on it whilst you watch the telly and then I started strait to toilet as my son didn't and still doesn't like the potty after spending £175 on a potty :(
Lauren Nguyen you need to wait till they are ready
If my daughter naps during the day she will not got to slep till around 1or2in thw mornings so naps are not recomended for kids 2 up
I do suggest that you cut of naptime.. completely. Great video!
It’s deftly not the nap I have a two year old
Emily I swear u were referring to my son Oliver in this vlog, we are literally going through the same early 5am wake ups since we transitioned Ollie to his toddler bed a couple of weeks ago! Xx
Me too!! Why!? I might go and have a Google now. His blinds came and it helped a bit but he's still rising so early 😭😭😭
+Emily Norris I think it's because they know they can just get up and get out of bed when they wake. I'm hoping it's a novelty and will soon wear off (fingers crossed!!) otherwise roll on winter and darker mornings lol!! Xx
Emily Norris does he still wake early? Both my kids wake up at 6 and it drives me mental!! 😅
My grandma always said I was a tin of worms when i slept in her bed
You could get a baby monitor
Emily have you got a potty training video??? Xxx
I love you. I love you so much
her
What age was he went you started potty training what age did u put him in bed
We have just moved our 17 month old and found leaving him a book has helped him self settle. I find going in he thinks its a game. We also purchased a bed guard which prevents him falling out.
