Budget repair, I could guarantee in the rest of the world that by the time the box was rebuilt it would have a parts list as long as your arm. Bearings, syncro rings, input shaft and housing etc etc. Don't forget the environmental levy and workshop consumables.
That gearbox isn’t going to last two minutes. There was a lock nut holding all of the gears on one of the shafts and they tightened it up with the end of a set of stilsons. It will be back in 6 months.
Imajinese cuantos machuca es no se an dado en los dedos de los pies en muchos videos salen unos ke no tienen dedos por amputaciones bro unos zapatos de caskillo les resolvería la vida
Absolutely amazing. These guys are such a great team and work in sync so perfectly and so fast. It looks like they repaired that transmission in a matter of hours. I had to rebuilt my car's transmission here in the US and it took almost 4 weeks. I should have taken it to Pakistan and fixed there. It would have been much much quicker. Well done guys.
This wasn't a rebuild, it was a repair. Only 1 or 2 balls of the bearing were destroyed, it's always the top bearing to go first as it's the 1 affected because of low oil ie; leaky transmission gasket caused this problem. And by the looks of it, it will more than likely fail again for the same reason. I build these every day, it doesn't take 4 weeks, 2 to 3 days at most and that is waiting on NEW parts, the actual labor to replace input bearing is 11 hours to remove trans, inspect trans, clean and reassemble and reinstall. If i had 5 helping me, it could easily be done in 2-3 hours. And you would get a warranty. 5 years /50,000 miles parts and labor on a rebuild, 10 year/100k on a new replacement. To all that commented " no need for all those fancy tools, lol, those fancy tools get it done right, bearing pullers and bearing installers are not a gimmick, and there are no substitutes, i doubt there is a dial indicator within 100 miles of this place, which is necessary for setting end-play and making sure races are installed right. Cleaning it in that way only makes it look good "kinda" i guarantee if i cleaned that same trans after they reassembled it, the magnet in my steamer would have at least half a teaspoon of fine metal shavings stuck to it. These guys are working with what they have"which is not much" but still the scraping of machined gasket surfaces with a knife leaving multiple scratch grooves "leak makers" hence the use of silicone as they ruined the machined gasket surfaces no torque wrench an not using a torque sequence and beating on bearings and bearing races with hardened steel is a big no no. We have a saying here, if you think an using a expert is expensive, wait until you use an amateur.
Great video, but after all that work they didn't even show them installing it back into the truck. The best part would have been the truck driving off with its new rebuilt transmission.
Amazing job guy!!! These are the type of mechanics we need here in Canada. Try telling mechanics here to tear down and rebuild a transmission with no power tools and no fully loaded, air conditioned shop to work in. The industry desperately needs more guys like these
Thanks for comment on my video😍 and ur precious appreciation for these hardworking boys, actually these mechanics belong to lower financial class families they do work day and night for the sake of just some food ,they are very honest with his work ,even they want to go other country like canada ,America but unfortunately they have no opportunity and financial support .
Why would you want to go back to history? They have good working environment now with advance tools. Get the job done quickly, efficiently, hopefully with good pay. I am sure you want the same thing for you and your kids, if your son happens to be a mechanic. You don’t want to wipe your behind with newspaper, in the forest, right? Because million of people around the world still do that.
So they have to overload the trucks to get the job, then drive a dangerous vehicle to make money. After that they have to pay for repairs. Not an ideal system.
The way they beat the races in with a hammer is just incredible. We’ve seen you guys have large bottle jacks, we’ve seen you guys have stick welders and angle iron. Would someone, anyone, please weld up a basic 20 tonne press and stop pounding on bearings with a hammer!
They can't. They are brown people. They do not have the mental ability to freely think like that. They continue to docthings they are shown instead of innovate. In other words... they are not capable of higher thinking. They may be able to take this trans apart and put it back together.. but that's just repeating what you've been shown. Not the same. They need a White Aryan to show them and think for them.
А толк? Поменяли только подшипник первичного вала.Стакан выжимного оставили сколотый,подшипники и шестерни с синхронизаторами тоже старые.Зачем разбирали всю коробку?Сняли бы стакан и вытащили первичный вал и все.

It might be economical in terms of cost to repair vs replace, but they gearbox isn’t going to last long at all. If you account for the time spent off the road, a replacement is probably cheaper. They did a lot of things wrong during assembly that will cause problems in service. They even dumped a tub of additive in it at the end to presumably cut down on noise and make it feel smooth for a while.
They reused broken parts? That collet shaft sleeve (guessing at the name) in the bell housing was broken at the beginning and they are assembling it with it at the end. It looks solid, but surely stress, heat, or vibration will cause continued deterioration.

What is super amazing is that this truck is loaded with Maple Leaf Cement which is tons and tons of weight and these guys are sitting right under it with tiny jacks and dropping the transmission.. on soft dirt earth. I hope that the weight doesn't shift and bury them alive!!! Each bag is 50kg. I can understand why the first transmission went out!! LOL.
I really love watching these guys - they blow the hell out of "flat rate labor". Love to know what they charge for the repair - in the U.S. this would have been a $$$$$ repair.
So what happened to the missing ball bearing? Did it disintegrate or was rattling around somewhere in the engine? (I Don't know anything about engines)
