    This plane belonged to America West Airlines back in the late 80s into the 90s. I flew this very plane several times, it was one of our originals. This is so surreal and amazing to see her still flying. Lots of great memories working for that AWA.

    Awesome! I’ve got quite a bit of 737-200 time as Captain, Check Airman, A&P Mechanic. A fine machine!

    Wonderful video, Seeing your children experience a free run around this aircraft, brings me back to my childhood, growing up in Invercargill New Zealand, my father was an aircraft engineer with NAC/Air New Zealand for 40 years.
    Every opportunity I would spend the weekends with Dad “airside” (no such thing in the early 70s) in the deep south of NZ.
    F27, Viscounts, and the 737 200
    I would be sitting in the left had sit while Dad towed the aircraft from the apron to the hanger.
    Best times ever with my Dad, and I am sure your girls will remember days like this as fondly as I do 45 years later.

    What a beautiful family!!! I remember getting my PPL back in the mid 90's and my little girl, (around 5 at the time) was my first passenger... She was sooo excited!! She always wanted to know how my training was going and couldn't wait for me to take her :-) Enjoy every single minute with those young ladies... Cause they won't be young for very long... I walked my baby girl down the aisle last year and it was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life!!! Take care Mr. Junkie and give those girls an extra big hug tonight!!! :-)

    Peculiar flare maneuver: at 100ft thrust levers are reduced to idle and both hands go on the control wheel for the remainder of the flare and touchdown! I hope he carried extra speed above Vref!

    Thanks for posting this. The 737 is my default aircraft in MSFS, so it is a joy to see the details of the 737- both on the ground walk around, and on the flight deck. I never saw the trim wheels in action, so that was a treat. I particularly liked the dog relaxing in pedigree-class.

      Elevator trim wheel.

    • @k.h.4698
      @k.h.4698 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those wheels are adjusting “trim” which is like fine-tuning the balance on the elevator control surfaces (plane going up and down, or trying to stay level in changes in wind). The primary controls- the yoke, rudder pedals)- are used for major adjustments to get the plane into approximate position, but the trim is like the minor adjustment and is less stressful. There are also aileron trim, and rudder trim, each affecting these other control surfaces, all for the same balancing purposes.

    • @syedazzam7740
      @syedazzam7740 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's called the trim wheel. It relieves pressure from the yoke so let's say you are climbing and having to pull back on the yoke to maintain the climb, you would trim up so that you can let go of the yoke and still maintain your climb rate. It's often called the 'poor man's autopilot' lol

    • @versasys
