    Congratulations ! beautiful description of this creative process, Thank you so much because I always considered roses undervalued in Ikebana arrangements and in this video the composition between flowers, leaves and stems is the perfection of simplicity.

      Sorry for responding a year later, but I am a novice at operating a TH-cam account. Had to ask my granddaughter who is visiting, to show me how to respond to your inquiry.
      In the Shoka Shofutai arrangement, there are three main lines, the Shin, Soe and Tai. The Shin is the main line of the arrangement and is usually the tallest stem in the arrangement, the Soe is the secondary line in the arrangement and is usually 2/3s the height of the Shin and emerges from the back of the Shin. The Tai is the third element and is placed in front of the Shin. Usually this is a grouping of flowers. Hope this answers your question. Apologize for such a delayed response.
