    Those days really sucked. I remember being stuck at home for 3 months. I couldn't leave my home because the police would charge me if they caught you out there something like that that. I was depressed that I couldn't go out. I missed my loved ones it hurt not being able to physically see them. I still at least texted them but it wasn't the same. I was still missing them I wanted a hug. Depressing that I couldn't hug them. But I'm glad there's TH-camrs like you to watch on TH-cam during the tough times

    4:34 hmm weird... One of the TR cars have the new chime and one of them have the old chime... Interesting... Great video by the way

    Nice video of the TTC! I was being observant of the subway noises and noticed something. While hard to hear at 2:36 (and 4:34), I hear an old door chime of the TR. The third note of the old door chime lasts a tad bit shorter than the usual TR door chimes we hear (you already got a direct comparison there haha). It seems like it's coming from "5703" and maybe "5701". I'm surprised it's still around because I thought all of the door chimes were updated.
    I guess being an observer of public transit and a train enthusiast really helps to notice all the little details. Anyways, I hope you're still doing well! :)

      Wow, that's impressive you can pick up on that. I hope to keep posting transit videos somewhat frequently moving forward, it's great to know there's an audience for them! I should bring you along to narrate one of them lol.. stay safe!

    I was thinking of you last week when I took my first subway trip in about a month - very quiet. Was on a bus today, couldn't believe that people have ripped the signs off seats telling them not to sit there. No idea of social distancing. Thank you for posting but please be careful!

    • @JohnnyStrides
      @JohnnyStrides  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, that's very irresponsible IMO but there's always people on the subway who can't follow the rules or be remotely considerate even in the best of times... thanks and stay safe yourself!

    Thanks for the tour video of Davisville & Eglinton Station! Even if the coronavirus pandemic is still happening you still tour stations, can you make a full tour video of St Clair Station, not St Clair West?

    • @JohnnyStrides
      @JohnnyStrides  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're welcome! I'll look into that, I eventually plan on doing more station tours and since St Clair is so close to me it's a no-brainer. I could perhaps do a walk through from the north-end over to the bus bays and then streetcar platform or jump on it and walk off at Summerhill and get both stations in.

    I am wondering how they are going to implement social distancing when everyone goes back to work and the opening of school in September. I take the train every day before the lockdown. On a normal weekday, trains are very crowded.

    • @JohnnyStrides
      @JohnnyStrides  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, the current measures in place won't hold up at all. I think we need to consider staggering start times to prevent the rush hour build-up in additional to having as many people working from home as possible and doing what we can for students in those regards too. Even better would be a vaccine or effective treatment, or massive drop-off of the virus but it's inevitable things are going to re-open and those things are no sure thing. I hope something is being worked on in that regard to keep transit safe.

    • @davisurdaneta1426
      @davisurdaneta1426 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JohnnyStrides At least the TTC could schedule more frequent train arrivals or could organize shuttle service at the same time on the same routes as the subway in order to split the crowd. Maybe that's a very costly idea but it's a good way to implement social distancing.

    I noticed the guard (conductor) working the train you got off of at Eglinton was not wearing a mask. That looked strange in this current situation...

    • @JohnnyStrides
      @JohnnyStrides  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think it's up to each employee. They're usually in enclosed parts of the front (or rear) of the train and are relatively isolated from passengers except for when they get on and off the trains. I'd say of all the transit workers they're in one of the better positions to be safe (or not spread anything) as long as they mind their distance when on the platforms.

    • @MartyGlenn72
      @MartyGlenn72 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Johnny Strides oh ok. On the NYC subway, the conductors and train operators work in similarly enclosed sections of the train, and quite a few have tested positive for Covid-19, and several have even passed away. So I guess that’s why I thought it looked odd.

    • @JohnnyStrides
      @JohnnyStrides  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, sorry to hear that. Haven't the NYC subways been overcrowded still? I'm sure that has something to do with it?

    • @MartyGlenn72
      @MartyGlenn72 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Johnny Strides NYC is a weird situation. During this pandemic, the subways have pretty much been taken over by homeless people and their possessions. Because of that, the “normal” passengers try to avoid those cars where the homeless are, and are all squeezed in together in any remaining cars. It’s a sad situation.
