    This was truly an inexpensive fix that only took about 10-15 minutes, and best of all, it took care of the problem! Thank you again for your very informative video, I truly do appreciate it!

    PCV location for 2008 550i E60 V8 driver side is correct. PVC location for passenger side is actually in front of engine encased by soft rubber cover, tube going to passenger side valve cover. Other wise correct.

      ReneC77 so glad it helped. I trust this will fix it for you and that it won't end up being the valve stem seals. Good luck

    I changed out the valve seal just as u show in the video. I had one that was ripped like shown here. Seemed to take care of the problem almost immediately. Drove around a bit and started smoking again. Wondering if it is because of oil that had previously leaked through needing to burn off, or if I need to go back and reset the new seal. Any thoughts?

      Yes it can be oil that is still through the system. But that should go after 1 good hard run. If not then sadly the valve stem seals could also be gone. That is an expensive and complicated repair

    Hi mate my car smoke when idle run perfect coolent level is fine oil level is fine. The smoke is like a steam while driving there is no smoke even on traffic lights no smoke , it only smoke when I a park my car for a while , can
    Ccv be the problem or is it something else

    • @Marksreviewsandtutorials
      @Marksreviewsandtutorials  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This could be valve stem seals which is very expensive to get done, but first I would change the CCV yourself if you are able because it could be that as well.

      I just re-read this what was the problem and how did you fix it. If the smoke is white it can actually be steam, as in coolant is getting into the fuel air mixture and coming out the exhaust as steam.

    My car is smoking a lot when it’s idle. Do you think this will fix my problem as well? It is a 2013 BMW X5. 4.4 v8

    • @Marksreviewsandtutorials
      @Marksreviewsandtutorials  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jordan Zabaneh This is the cheap thing to try first and pray it fixes it. If not it is likely valve stem seals and that is quite expensive.

    Hi will this be the same procedure on a 2006 Bmw 650 I convertible

    • @Marksreviewsandtutorials
      @Marksreviewsandtutorials  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This procedure was on a 2005 4.4l V8 So if you have the same engine Yes.

    I keep hearing valve stem seals and the ungodly expense of repairing- but that’s for OIL burning- which would be BLUE smoke... for WHITE smoke, that is linked to coolant... but I still see VSS’s as a culprit- which doesn’t make a lock of sense. So confused!

    $20 my arse!! Not in England you cannot £42 each ??? Mind you ,China & Hong Kong £3.50 free p&p .
    Spring does not look as strong which means the Diaphram should not break so easily. 10 Points for China & Japan (Hong Kong)

      syd bell You can keep the genuine springs if they are still ok. I was happy with the quality of the rubber.
