on hidusb do not use the poling rate at 1000 on xbox controller, because it creates problems of very variable input variations (as seen from video time 11.58) which give more problems of instability on the aim, I use poling rate at 500 and I am fine with stable 3ms latency try it for yourself

Xinput IS NOT a latency test. Its a polling rate test. Its not how fast the computer gets the signal and registers it and puts it on screen. Its how fast it processes 2 separate inputs back to back. It still takes time to make its way to the machine

I want to go PS5 as Xbox controllers apparently have a larger dead zone that can't be fixed with software so are less precise with fine movements, especially for shooters. But I love the xbox layout so am struggling to justify swapping it out 🙄

I was surprised the ps5 controller had a lower latency, apparently the Xbox series x controller is supposed to have some lo latency technology included that should give it the edge. I'd love to swap over to the ps5 controller with all of its great features but I've used the xbox one for most of my life I really don't know if I could get used to the stick orientation.
ps controller > xbox IMO for the simple fact that when u claw on a ps controller your thumb never leaves the joysticks, I can't stand clawing the dpad on an xbox controller its so awkward, using the index to control the stick while using your thumb to hit the dpad.
xinput doesnt work for me. i use a standard ps4 controller plugged in to my pc and on all 3 xinput opions none of them work. i've tried switching the emulated controller between xbox and ps4 and none of them work. it just says "Error ! - XBOX 360 Controller Not Found!"

7.70ms input lag wired or wireless mode with my Xbox One Elite Series 2 controller using a USB or the official Xbox Wireless Adapter. Good to know I can use it wirelessly without a cost.
how did you get the input lag so low with the adapter? I have only been able to get it down to 14ms. are you using the cable extension thing for the adapter?

This whole situation is frustrating. I don\t get why it's so hard to use a controller on a pc. I have a wired xbox one controller that is shown in my devices as connected but nowhere else. Not in steam, or parsec, or anywhere else. It does show up in my ps2 emulator but that's the only place. What am I doing wrong? Ok, this video was one of the best guides I have watched about this topic but at the end one thing struck me, that is very misleading and should not have made it into the video because its big BS Yes, you had 30ms delay in the first test you did with the xbox controller but that was while it was wireless. At the end of the video you show that all of the "improvements" made it go as low as about 8ms wich seems totally crazy, but you tested that time with the cable connected. Testing it wireless in the beginning and wired after makes it kind of unrealisitic, eh?

if i have it set in my controller software at 500hz it reads 500hz then 2ms delay but having it set to 1000hz in my software for my controler it reads 500-600hz but super low delay

I have been chasing my tail for 3 days trying to get my xbox controller to work on for a game that lacks innate support. I have tried the steam big picture options (its a steam game) and 4 different controller mapping softwares. None of them work. And I know its not the controller because it works fine with everything that has innate controller support. Its always the same. I get to some part in the tutorial(s) where whats on my screen doesnt match theirs. In this case when i press "start" it doesn't detect the controller, despite the fact that the computer definitely detects it. Why is this so damn hard?

I used a Xbox controller my whole life and swapped to a ps controller and It’s much better and easy to get used to imo

^^ this, the latest Xbox series controller update has helped with this issue but it still happens more often than it should
Settings improved but my main problem with continous re-connecting bluetooth still persist.
Does the overclock software need to be open in the background in order to get the overclock?

DS4Windows should be open and the controller must be connected before running the Xinput Poll checker
