I studied music in college with Andrew, he rode a unicycle to class and wore a bow-tie almost everyday. I don't think anyone quite fully understood him, but we all knew he was an absolute genius. I think he performed at least once with every instrument in our weekly performance forum class. He absolutely deserves this!

Yeah, I actually think it has certain pretty interesting elements to it. It has a clear melodic motif (D# B C#) and what makes it interesting is that when the three-note motif is repeated, it starts on the off-beat. It's also quite logical, since you have two repeats of the three-note motif and on the third time it almost starts again but ends differently. The shape of the melody actually works quite well. A much worse melody would be either much more repetitive or it would have no repetition at all, and it would also either have a much less interesting rhythm (for example just quarter notes all the time) or the rhythm would just be nonsensical.

I know that feeling well, buddy. RichaadEB, who is an insanely talented guitarist, did something similar about two years ago. I didn't even get showcased, but it was amazing to participate in something that was much bigger than myself and to connect with these other gifted musicians.
The last two were the only two to bring mostly different chord progressions. Because of that, they get the most props from me. Everyone else did variations on Rob's songs. I like last runner up most, but I agree that the winner deserved to win due to sheer creativity and polish.
Rob is uniting the music world, this is something YT needs WAY more of. Awesome job to everyone and thanks Rob for brining premium content to this platform.
