    If you’re just shooting that rifle stock off the rack, this is really impressive. Solid work on the reloading side and can tell you are dedicated. Great shooting bud!!

    Great detailed video. Couldn't find the 338 bergers anywhere and came across some always easily attainable Speer 225gr SPBT for cheap, thought what the heck. Loaded them with some surplus H1000 and extra Win LRM primers for the 338 Lapua. 1 grain short of max it chronos at 3200FPS at the muzzle, single digits and prints a clover leaf group at 200 yards. Lazer out to 1600, haven't shot them beyond that yet. I am rethinking this heavy bullet theory. Keep it light and flat. Hand measuring each load for seating depths for optimal consistency. A bonus with this load is recoil is lighter and I can see hits through the scope. P.S. unroll a sleeping bag extended from your shooting mat outwards from your muzzle. No more dust cloud from the slayer brake.

    iv been using the 175 smk and 185 berger hybrids for years in 308. 5 years in f class. berger is very consistent. i bought some of the newer a tip hornadys' they are also very good. i mostly shoot hornady 140 bthp in my 6.5 cm mainly due to cost and i stocked up on seconds years ago. iv heard great things about the berger 215. also they are out of stock every were. probably factory loading of 300norma ammo. that is the new military round of choice. i hope they make a bunch for the rest of us too. that is some very nice shooting sir. i really wish i had access to a range like that around here.

      Haha maybe if I was sponsored and Christensen wanted me to review a rifle for them, and then give it away? 🧐 I wonder how many subscribers I’d need in order for this channel to be able to do that? First I shoot it, develop a load for the rifle, review it, then give it away to someone. Sounds like a sweet deal.

    Just chilling here while my 300prc chills on the coffee table as decor being i can't find 300prc lapua cases in stock . When are corrupt leaders end this scamdemic then shooting sports should go back to normal and prices as well . I spend 50k on ton of stuff in 2019-2020 because of all the deals i kept seeing. But did not stock up enough on certain powders , primers , cases as i load for 13 calibers also which is my first real year into the sport of long range shooting. I went catch me if u can style.

    I've been wondering how Bergers would do in the 300 prc MPR. First of all... I'm surprised you managed to find some! I'm in Arizona- where Berger is based out of. And I can't find any Berger bullets in stock to save my life! I guess that's what comes from living in a state with lots of competition shooters, lol. Anyway... good info. Thanks!

    Are you zeroing the 300 PRC @ 100 yards or different?

    • @ThatGuyChannel
      @ThatGuyChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I zero at 100 yards. I have easy access to 27 yards on my property for a very quick zero process as well. With a 100 yard zero, at 27 yards the bullet should impact 1.2” low, then that works as well (if I’m in a pinch).

    I'm looking at the mpr and I can't decide between the 300 prc or 6.5 prc. Not looking to get too beat up by the recoil. Is it worth it in your opinion to give up the 200 meters range for the reduced recoil?

    • @ThatGuyChannel
      @ThatGuyChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 6.5 PRC would be a good option. I think you can use it on any game within range of your safe shooting skills. I often tell people that if I could consolidate my hunting calibers into one, it’d be a magnum short action of some sort (6.5 PRC, 7SAUM, 300 WSM, etc)

    • @noahbenavidez3315
      @noahbenavidez3315 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThatGuyChannel wow, thanks for replying! If they made it in 7 saum and the ammo wasn't so expensive/hard to come by i wouldn't think twice about buying it. My main issue is the 6.5 and 300 come in the long action and they weigh about the same. So recoil and range are about the only difference. I'll use it as a target rifle 90% of the time so shooting comfortably matters to me quite a bit. I think I'll go the 6.5 route though!! Thanks for the feedback!

    • @ThatGuyChannel
      @ThatGuyChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting. I wonder if you’re having a Mount issue? Magnums need to be checked on more consistently, especially the picatinny rail. Mine has come loose twice from the shooting recoil. Never had that issue with my savage short action 260 Rem.

      @@ThatGuyChannel dang haha, I was going to try the 215s but they're like unicorns, the 200.20's are easy to come by. Granted your seating depth is probably different that the one on my 300 prc. But what did you start out at for your seating depth? I can't any load data for those 200.20😂

    • @ThatGuyChannel
      @ThatGuyChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the 200.20x are such a short bullet that if I were to run it closer to the lands the bullet wouldn’t even be in the case for my chamber. So I just stuck it down into the case until it looked about good, and somehow was able to measure the OAL. So the 0.160” jump is as accurate as I could get the reading. And I ran into similar issues with load data, I basically went off of 208gr data and adjust it from there.
