alright i know the 80's are long time back but even so i thought the whole world had still heard of them lol. im shocked when ppl on here have to ask who they are!!! They were so good and just soooo massive
Yes I have happy thoughts of my 20's & early 30's when Adam was doing punk music and especially 1980 - 1983 when he was just as famous as Princess Di in the UK. What is even MORE amazing is his courageous comeback after overcoming a lifetime of bipolar illness. He is my hero and also a touchstone which evokes such happy days when I was into L.A. punk music scene mid-1970s to late 1970's - it was an electric, highly charged volcanic social phenomena - punk fashion, music, style and revolt
THANK YOU>>>THANK YOU >>>THANK YOU>>>>THANK YOU!! I enjoyed this an ungodly amount!! BRAVO ADAM & THE ANTS. You are an absolute angel for posting this . I have not seen this live since I was 13 . YOU ARE THE BEST!!!
It makes me smile that,at the time he was popular, I read an article saying that under his make-up he had a gray complexion with pimples lol. I wouldn't have kicked him out of bed tho ;) Shame there aren't more people nowadays taking such care over their style.
I'm not sure that article was right! I saw him in Maryland coming out of his Hotel and actually got a autograph, he was like 8 inches away from me..he had no makeup on. He was BEAUTIFUL! His complexion was really clear.
i understand what you want to say. so did i. when the first time i heard them, it was really shocking but fresh! so i crazily found them out and got their cd. Adam Ants was a frontier, really.
Prince Charming Reappears! So, Adam Ant performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. (7.15.13) A li’l Johnny Depp’d-out, but still my fave early-years role model of cool in music (rolling neck and neck with both Prince and Billy Idol) If I don’t buy that new release right now I ain’t ever gonna remember its title.
@chalklava Be jealous of me...; -) saw him when I was young - so young my mom had to take me. He was beautiful and the sound was amazing, especially the double drum set.
Rare to say this, Adam was a great vocalist, you can tell this is the last song the voice is going a bit. I think Gary Tibbs carried that song for the band?
There is a video of entire stage performance 1981 Live in Japan tour which is utterly magnificient. Is the Prince Charming Revue somewhere online in it's entirety? I'd love to be able to see the full performance - or if not for free online - can I buy it on DVD? So cool one of Adam's favorite girlfriends Stephanie Gluck choreographed the brilliance dance moves for this piece. Stephanie also staged and helped style to low budget video of Dog Eat Dog when the Ants first hit big time on TOPS.
@Dirlandas errrrrr yes it is. If that's how a crown begins applause (by audibly speeding up as someone removes the pause control) then fair play. But they don't, do they? Dubbed. Have a listen.
I was and still am a Huge fan but how can he say band members lacked enthusiasm to continue? Sadly he thought he was bigger than the whole like so many successful groups ruined by internal egos. So much more potential or did they peak at this time?
@Cloughjordan23 People and the current youth seem to have a very narrow focus on purely the here and now. When I was a young kid I was both looking at the present AND backwards in time, i.e. I looked for jewels amongst my parents and uncles etc music collections. I was born in 1971 but even before I was ten, I was listening to 40s/50s/60s and 70s music, albeit mainly hit singles and the occasional album.
Absolutely magnificent!!! 30 years later and nothing as creative and visual as this to rival it.
41 years
5 charming princes on stage - I still love them all.
Me and my mate Chris saw them live 1980/81 at Glasgow Apollo just before they got famous. The drummers were amazing .
hes still gorgeous and looks bloody amazing
alright i know the 80's are long time back but even so i thought the whole world had still heard of them lol. im shocked when ppl on here have to ask who they are!!! They were so good and just soooo massive
How can one man be that beautiful for that long?

Fabulous performance! A big 2 of
It makes me smile that,at the time he was popular, I read an article saying that under his make-up he had a gray complexion with pimples lol.

@chalklava Be jealous of me...; -) saw him when I was young - so young my mom had to take me. He was beautiful and the sound was amazing, especially the double drum set.
adam and depp x
haha, right! :D
especially regarding russel brand
@moonboots69 Excellent point!
Rare to say this, Adam was a great vocalist, you can tell this is the last song the voice is going a bit. I think Gary Tibbs carried that song for the band?
yup your right, great lead guitar as well
Yeah, Marco is magnificent!
Hey he's older than you elderly haha
John Agnew but hey he is in his sixties now and can still pack a venue and belt them out....
tibbs made that! still a tune!
I loved ‘em. My dad hated them. Period.
Hot, hot, is there any other words>>>
Don't you ever!!!
Yummy. I like the fact that even with makeup he is still soooo hot.
The crowd is overdubbed on. Listen to the end, you can hear the canned applause speed up lol!
And that's what hits you most of the whole video - the 3 secs.at the end?
lol!

Ohhhh-k Dan, I see what you're talking about I didn't finish watching the video until now... It's the tacky mirror effect, right?
Adam Ant was Hot, Hot, Hot.
@Dirlandas errrrrr yes it is. If that's how a crown begins applause (by audibly speeding up as someone removes the pause control) then fair play. But they don't, do they? Dubbed. Have a listen.
Those dancers had to wait around a long time for a very small part in this concert.
llee611838 they do a bit in dog eat dog too lol
yep...but that's show biz
what would i give to have been born 30 years earlier to see this...
Is that Prince Charming or Prince & The revolution? :)
Co olio
Looks to mevlike he has got no mo jo left .even though he is older than me .
adam in manic state
merrick can play the drum, keyboard and acoustic guitar
strangly a throwback to 50s rock n roll which punk was, to think bowie and kraftwerk were around well before its feels like Bolan only 7years later
I was and still am a Huge fan but how can he say band members lacked enthusiasm to continue? Sadly he thought he was bigger than the whole like so many successful groups ruined by internal egos. So much more potential or did they peak at this time?
na hah hare ah
Classic Rap , Marc Bolan !!!
@Dirlandas Use your ears. The crowd is dubbed on. Or perhaps you can explain the inhuman speeding up as the play button is depressed.
Adam and the Ants had disbanded over thirty years ago.
christ i was 10 lol
maddogwalt I was 15 or 16
Rita Coolidge has nothing to be scared of?
Ridicule is nothing to be scared of.
@Cloughjordan23

Well we know it's not the Casio beats 5000 effect, so what is it?
and i always wondered how they would carry off the screamin intro when live
A playback tape
@TheAstradyne I bow to your superior experience and knowledge of being 'inhuman'.
Adam Ant vogue'in years before madonna
@Dirlandas Sorry. You're mistaking me with a moment in your own life there.
@TheAstradyne No. It. Isnt. u.n.d.e.r.s.t.a.n.d?? (writing slowed right down for the benefit of the hard of thinking)
@moonboots69
urrrrrgh, you cannot compare russel brand to adam ant and johnny depp!!! russel brand is such an ugly person. adam and johnny are HOT.
Caddicarus, anyone?
