It seems crazy to me, that some of the students dont bother doing the homework, because they are uninspired by the subject. Meanwhile they miss out on valuable critique of their work. Seems like such a waste of a golden opportunity to improve. Great information as always. I'm still making a point of trying to watch these everyday, and each one brings more insight. Such a lovely gift.
@@StefanBaumann Bless you, and yes, I'm surprising myself with the improvement. I signed up to go self employed with my art today, so exciting times ahead. Thanks again. You really are an inspiration.
When I wrote a mystery book for my kids (trying to get them to read), I got to chapter four and the characters in the book stole the story and ran off with it. My outline and plan were useless, and by the end I was typing as fast as I could because I wanted to know what was going to happen! The kids loved it (and are avid readers to this day), and all of my friends loved it too, including a lawyer who asked when the next one would come out, lol. It was super fun to do. Then I read you have to have a theme and corresponding threads in your story. I freaked out, of course, and then realized, it all was in there and came naturally. So I can relate to what you say! Thanks!
OMG is that what is happening? I love that feeling, I paint forever, then it's done, and I am happy. I get lead into that final finest, sometimes I start not even knowing where I'm going to end up, I'm in love with painting. I feel like I have only just begun, it's a fresh feeling at 65. thanks so much!
i have a depression/bi-polar disorder, so they say.it started in my late 20's and progresses as time goes on. sometimes that genius comes out and it is wonderful! less and less i get to connect with the genius..when i do i not only get lost, and found,(perhaps you understand that). i try to ride the line and learn while i'm barely there. you talk about things that are painting related, but it is your philosophy i love. thank you for giving of your time. (BTW 44 now)
That is what I've always did with my doodles. I'd just do a few lines and then make sense of those lines into some drawling or something. I've noticed it in writing too, It feels like the characters are written the story for you or something.
Stefan I am absolutely loving these videos. Yes, please, please come to Australia and I will attend your workshops. Incredible teacher and so inspiring. Thank you.
Sir...i love all your videos so much. Everything u say is so inspirational. i am a student of fine art. and all this time....i felt so frustrated that i cant reproduce like others....like exactly like photographs.....i am so inspired by what u said in the last video that reproducing is hardly art......thank you for uploading these wonderful videos. You are an amazing teacher.
I can't believe these people go to painting lessons and don't bother with their homework assignments. I would instantly want to paint as soon as I left each lesson.
After a couple adult beverages and watching you paint landscapes on your PBS show I DIDN'T GET IT... I watched you and thought to myself how does he do that? It starts out as scribbles and then magically a Painting appears. Then I thought of the question asked of Michael Angelo? about how do you Carve Stone? and the response was basically that he just chips away until the Statue inside emerges. Painting is harder because First you have to Paint the Stone! Then release what is inside of it. I love your vids/classes and I learn so much.
+TMB247 I love what you said and I might use it! Painting is harder because First you have to Paint the Stone! Then release what is inside of it. I love your vids/classes and I learn so much.
Stefan Baumann Also I just picked up a Sketch Pad and am taking the challenge of doodling a Pad per week ... I'm a Salesman so I have a built in opportunity to Doodle 5 days a week. Again I really enjoy the way you teach
I am artistic in writing, music, and painting, and I always say, "I am waiting for my muse to be upon me," or , "I am waiting for the God of Painting to find me worthy." When it's not happening, you can try as hard as you want and nothing good comes out. When it's happening, your hands can't put it down fast enough. If floooooos....
thebudkellyfiles have you ever "talked" to your genius? I find that is I just ask my genius or my muse to be with me and help me create, it always does :)
I'd have no problem with cracking the old capitalist. I hate the greed and hypocrisy of the 'modern' version of Christmas. Push me down and grind my face into the ground if I stand in the way of someone getting their claws onto a 'must have', they are hunting. Just be thoughtful and kind to the least of us each ordinary day and you will be moving towards the true spirit of Christmas. I would love to see the painting. Thank you .❤
Framing.. can you please demonstrate or teach on the process of framing? Using a masterpiece canvas is so much different from the thinner level one Michael's. Obviously framing is next level as well. I appreciate your instructions and insights. Thanks
@@StefanBaumann ps.. you were 100% right!!! I cant begin to describe how much fun I'm having painting on my first ever masterpiece canvas!! The paint spreads oh so nicely!! And the colors!!.. I'm so smiling!! #WorthTheCost!!!! Thank you!!
I would struggle with that assignment... I think I would paint myself as the little girl who was broken at xmas... But then I'd be crying too much to do it...
Stefan, you are such an inspiration. I live out in the country in Arkansas so its not that easy to get out and be with other like minds or learn from better painters. But you have really inspired me and give me hope in my journey. Thank you so much. Also, I meant to ask do you have any video help on painting trees. I live in densely treed area and I HAVE to learn how to paint trees well. I am so lost and cant seem to get it. Thank you again.
umm, confused! I was always taught that the left "brain" was the creative factor and the "right" was more restrictive. Perhaps I went to the wrong University....Loved the video though! thanks
+George Bailey There is a book called "Drawing From the Right Side of the Brain " the right side is the creative side, the the truth is there is not a right side or left they all work together it is a concept describing two sides of how the brain works
*Excellent art teacher!*
If the world had more teachers like you, it would be a better place.
Joanna Skor You are so kind
I agree ♥️
what an imagination and intelligence Stefan has....always amazes us. Genius of a teacher. Thank you

I listen to these students, not taking your challenges to create.. OH MY .. how privileged they are...
One day I'm gonna take classes with you Stefan, when I visit CA. Such a warm class.
I appreciate your words. Inspirational.
tia Thanks
My right brain is so strong creatively, it has completely sabotaged my academic learning in every way.
