Here's the thing, people love to meme about them being "the most hated band ever" but in truth they do string together some technically and vocally great tracks. Forawhile a lot of the stuff they did, did sound the same which is a big reason why people hated. But they've found a good niche in recent years to elevate their style
The hate doesn't come from the music. He alleged beat up his girlfriend and he can't keep his mouth shut. He is always starting stuff with other bands.
I’ve always been a hate the musician not the music kind of guy. I don’t support Chad as a person but will continue to listen to them if the music fits my standards
I don't think that's actually the case. There's been crap thrown at them from day one. The girlfriend business was 7 years ago, but they've been a band for 20+ years. I don't deny Chad will not back down and he has undoubtedly started his fair share of drama, but when they first broke out, there was nothing going on. It's the "it's formulaic music" "nothing original" crap that critics and others come up with - and since enough people like them to sell out stadiums and tours and they've managed to stick it out for more than 20 years, with minimal lineup changes, piss on the critics, quite frankly. Like them or don't, but let it be your own opinion, not one someone else gave to you.
This is truthfully the first time I even heard about that allegation. When having discussions over the years with people on why they hate the band, it's always in reference to the music. never heard anything about Chad specifically.
@@capp00 I get a mix of both. "They're music's not bad, Chad's just a douche" as if they know him personally and then alternatively "All their songs sound the same. It's all canned garbage" as if their favorite band doesn't have a DISTINCTIVE SOUND to separate them from other artists. People always SOME excuse as to why they dislike them but can't name 5 songs outside of "How You Remind Me", "Photograph", and "Rockstar".
Yeah Alex, so I was told yesterday that unless I was a patreon my comments, or requests didn't mean shit to you. Of course that still doesn't explain exactly why you told me that you WOULD do my request for "Break In" Although that might also explain why you HAVEN'T done it. So, apparently the 200 people who gave their likes to my request for "Break In" don't mean shit either. So if you don't have the wherewithal to be a patreon just don't bother leaving requests, because your paying customers mean more than any of your other fans. So, was he correct? 0__0. 👍
@@iambish I watched a cover of Sad But True by them and I was blown away. They sounded heavier than Metallica! Check it out and you will know what I mean!
The Nickelback hate thing has never been about if they can play or even make good songs, it's always been about how obviously formulaic there albums are. However good their stuff might be it feel more like they set out to make a certain number of songs per album that fit into one type or another then fill those niches in. Basically a couple heavy tunes, a couple ballads, a couple of innuendo laden songs about sex, etc... Repeat for each album.
Dark Horse is a perfect example of that. Track 1 is Something in your Mouth, and Track 3 is Gotta be Somebody. Track 7 is Never Gonna be Alone, and Track 9 is S.E.X. Individually, they're good songs. But when on the same album, you're pining about being alone and hoping your soulmate is out there, but also going hard about how you objectify women, there's something fundamentally wrong there.
@@woutrnick4397 well, I'm glad you were able to admit that. Please, do yourself a favor and listen to more. Your world will be opened so much. I can suggest some if you'd like.

@@woutrnick4397 awesome. Well, they've had 10 studio albums going all the way back to 1995 and their sound has been fairly unchanged in that time. A nice mix of heavy and poppy. From their second album, Curb, "I Don't Have", "Where?", and "Left" are among the heavier ones. Silver Side Up had some decently heavy trax like "Hangnail", "Where Do I Hide?", and "Hollywood". Their most recent album, Feed The Machine was probably their second heaviest to date with "Feed The Machine", "Coin For the Ferryman", and "The Betrayal, act III". Those are a good starting point.

@@jamiepercival5096 nah... I dont think so...
To much songs are missing....
Nickelback has always been a guilty pleasure
React to nickelback song feed the machine from their latest album of the same name! It's a banger! 🤘
Here's the thing, people love to meme about them being "the most hated band ever" but in truth they do string together some technically and vocally great tracks. Forawhile a lot of the stuff they did, did sound the same which is a big reason why people hated. But they've found a good niche in recent years to elevate their style
PLEASE REACT TO THE INFEST RECORD FROM PAPA ROACH, IT'S A MASTERPIECE
GOTTA SAY
CHAD HAS THE PERFECT VOICE FOR THIS, DEEP AND GRAVELY, LIKE IT CAME STRAIGHT FROM THE DEPTHS OF HE'LL
FANTASTIC VERSION OF THE SONG
That was sour grapes from his ex trying to get more alimony, she was just pissed that he left her for Avril, nothing came from those allegations.
Good old Alberta boys. Thanks, Alex. Great reaction.
This is the most Nickelback cover ever lol and thats coming from a fella that loves old Nickelback 😂
They also did a great rendition of ZZ Top's Sharp Dressed Man Live at the Vh1 Rock Honors show in 2007...totally awesome...
👍
I just got a completly new respect for nickelback damn son 😈😈
Oh come on, quit the Nickelback hate! #respecttheback
They don't deserve any of the hate they get !
I love Nickelback and they are amazing live!!
@@iambish I watched a cover of Sad But True by them and I was blown away. They sounded heavier than Metallica! Check it out and you will know what I mean!
Stefan Tsarev watched it and it was fucking awesome!! Thanks for letting me know about this cover 🤘🏻
Seen them live twice in concert ol days and 2 years and they are really really good
The Nickelback hate thing has never been about if they can play or even make good songs, it's always been about how obviously formulaic there albums are.
You’re right. And unfortunately that is what most of their singles are. A lot of their really good, heavy songs are the deep cuts.
Fn dope cover and great reaction bro... 🔥🔥🔥
I feel betrayed
Didn't realize how good they were, huh?
@@sandycheeks9342 lol yeah, as a metalhead I was raised to hate them but I cant get over the fact it is a pretty dope song 😂
@@woutrnick4397 well, I'm glad you were able to admit that. Please, do yourself a favor and listen to more. Your world will be opened so much. I can suggest some if you'd like.
@@sandycheeks9342 would be nice to have some suggestions yeah, normally only listen to dimmu borgir/vader/amon amarth so 0 experience when it comes to them or even rock (if they are considered rock) in general.
Majority of people that make fun of Nickelback just never listened to anything beyond the radio hits. Check out This Means War, or Side of Bullet, has a solo from Dimebag in it as its a tribute to Dimebag
Please listen to Three Days Grace new cover of Somebody I Used to Know
YES
Yoooo Respect!
I mean I'm the first one to join in on the Nickleback hate train, lol. Fact is they have some good tunes and Chad Kroeger is a good singer. But even a broken clock is right twice a day /shrug
sadly you will never hear them do this live. Its Dave Martone playing the guitar lol he has recorded albums in the past using their drummer (Daniel) I assume this is where the relationship comes from. The man is a beast.
Animals,Million Miles an hour,Feed the Machine and For the River
React to halestorm uncomfortable
👍
They absolutely crushed this! The haters will hate no matter what… Fuck ‘em.
Nah, as pretentious as ever. This ain't it. Ironically it sounds like they trying to bite Corey Taylor's sound.
Funny, Corey just dropped HWY 666 weeks AFTER Nickelback rendition, Who’s the copycat?
@@dallasstar1968Not just talking about this song
Nickelback is one of the best rock band of today!!!!
No need to say more
To me, this has to be the worst cover ever & I literally hate nickelback! Who did it better in my opinion, its Primus
The Primus cover was garbage, bruh.
This cover is solid af.
Korn did this cover too, but I didn’t really like it much but it’s not terrible
