If our physicians don't understand the interconnectedness of everything that impacts our minds, bodies, and health, what chance do we lay people have? Thankfully, these and other physicians are studying and sharing their new-found knowledge, and the rest of us have resources to do our own research to improve our health and lives. Excellent interview! Thank you for sharing it.

Dr Chatterjee gets it. Unfortunately most medical doctors don't.

Thank you so much for addressing poverty as a huge stressor. Most people ignore this entirely. Happy New Year to you both!

I have lived with stress most of my life and what has helped me, was regular exercise. Exercise has also helped with my anxiety. I hope this can also, if just in a small way help other individuals. ❤❤❤❤❤

Hyman is so funny and clever with words. "The worse heart rate variability is a flat line". "Digital detox.". "the present of presence.". Great topic with enthusiastic author.

So glad doctors speak about therapeutic human touch! Hooray! I am a massage therapist, and people get better after every session with me. I will definitely make reference to the book of Dr Chatterjee when I will be making TH-cam videos to educate people that massage therapy is not a luxury, but a necessity! :)

I remember a Ted Talk where a medical doctor talked about relations being more important than exercise and diet. I think sleep is actually also more important than diet and exercise.

Moderation is the key; food, exercise, and stress mentally physically and philosophically. ( certain stress is good for our body system; heat stress, for example).
Love the explanation and great interview!

thank both of you, these are so important concepts and so easy to do. Chronic epidemic: stress I agree that it is the number one problem in the world today. There is not much i can do to help others but working with myself is contagious and I can pass it on with out annoying others by just being myself. I did pass it on to my grandson and his girl friend and my recommendation is to listen to this together so thanks

I love that they touch on (pun intended I guess lol) the physiological effects of touch, and how they bring up babies who are in the NICU. My identical twins were both born with severe congenital heart defects and had to spend several months in the NICU. My husband and I spent as much time as we possibly could at the hospital doing skin to skin. It was so therapeutic for /me/ to be able to be so connected to my babies during these excruciatingly painful moments. ❤️

I was skeptical on this one from the intro but it's quite good. Thanks PS: I still think the poor have it worse. I had a specific comment on this when I watch the video earlier but couldn't comment then.

Please let the man talk. About who is it? If you broadcast it shouldn't be about yourself. Your interruptions are very irritating.
