I think that most people are both liberal and conservative. The question is, to what degree? And as for being conservative, the question is conservative compared to what? That middle point is always on the move.

But it seems we are the only sane people nowadays, I mean basically everyone used to be a centrist, because it wasn't a big part of their life, as it shouldn't be. I can look at almost any argument from both sides (excepting the gross stuff). From my perspective and from the view of many other centrists the right and the left play off each other, and even of that its mainly the far left will say something ludicrous, like i dunno only fat black women can be president. So then the far right will come out screaming and shouting, ur trying take away my constitutional right to freedom, IF U DON'T LIKE IT THEN LEAVE! so then that'll bring in more moderate lefties going on about how they are ironically infringing upon the far lefts freedom of speech, then the far right will call them traitors, and the moderate right will point ouut the hypocrisy of defending freedom of speech for something that infringes on the constitutional rights of Americans. That js basically all "cancel culture" a small minority form both sides sayibg ludicrous things that develop into larger issues, that achieve nothing, solve nothing and further divide the nation and lessen the opinion of Americans abroad. Anyway rant over, stop the madness please.

My sister's household is like that, except for my nephew. We hardly care about the differences in our beliefs, but we do like to have discussions about them nonetheless. Not particularly over holiday, but whenever a certain topic might arise. There's only one issue, and that's that my sister and her young daughter are not very knowledgeable about the topics we discuss, and about what they support or believe in, so by the end of a conversation, she always just sits staring at nothing and it's weird so I have to recover by introducing a new topic like a movie or something.
