"He doesn't have that good of move set"
*Sceptile:* And I took that PERSONALLY
2 minutes later *gets one shot* "That's a hell of a moveset"
Amd people thought they could bring sap sipper azumaril into this raid
@@dtell3424 I saw this coming which is why I didn’t build Azumarill.
Sceptile is such an underrated GOAT
@@dtell3424who thought they could bring a water type to a raid vs a sceptile 💀🤦🏽♂️
IMPORTANT! You need to upgrade PP’s for Draining Kiss from its default 10PP to 16PP, you see in the video afterwards when he’s battling that it changed but wasn’t mentioned, if you won’t upgrade you will run out of power and lose.
I did that still lost 😢
@@sisero_05 yeah I wish I would've known that before
Draining Kiss isn’t holding up too good after Sceptile puts up that 1st guard & lead blade 😂🤦🏽♂️ I keep resetting
After you use protect, use 2 calm minds, then just hit draining kiss till the end. He got a lucky crit on first leaf blade, basically killed me, only reset I needed.
Anihilape is best. Did it like 20 times solo. A lil tricky since if he hits me at the beginning i gotta reset
War... war never changes... BUT OUR GENERAL WILL LEAD US TO VICTORY ONCE AGAIN! :D
all hail the leader best in the business
can someone pleaseeeeee trade me the trade evos and pokemon from Scarlett. I have violet. hit me up on here.
Really didn't expect sceptile to run thunder punch or else sap sipper Azumarill would have been perfect
Azu is probably the reason why they gave it Thunder Punch 😅
@@AntonyMB azu still win 😂
That was my first try too
Just team up with someone using a defensive lightning rod mon with protect/detect and voila, team of azu sap sippers!!!
It is baffling to me that sceptile’s physical and special attack stats weren’t swapped in gen 4
It's baffling to me that it's a special attacker at all. I get that that was better for it's typing pre-physical/special split but it never once gave me the vibes of a special attacker.
I agree he would of been a great crit hit machine with leaf blade and night slash . I think
Sceptile had focus blast, hidden power and leaf storm. It’s a shame it never got nasty plot, air slash or earth power. It’s physical coverage is far greater than its special coverage.
@@gio9255 tail glow and earth power would make Sceptile a beast
@@jmaldonado790 It’s because Swampert was made into the physical attacker of the trio and Blaziken as the mixed attacker due to the physical/special split. Sceptile, not having a physical STAB, was easier to make into a special attacker.
Here was the build I used because it worked pretty well for me.
Grimmsnarl, 252 HP and Attack, Prankster Ability, Adamant Nature.
Moves: Taunt, Reflect, Bulk Up, and Play Rough.
Held Item: Shell Bell.
Turn 1, Taunt
Turn 2, Reflect
Turn 3, Play Rough until he resets stats
Turn 4, after he does the reset start using Bulk Up
After enough Bulk ups/ Play Roughs, Tera Fairy for more Play Rough damage.
What is "enough" Bulk Ups? This strategy hasn't worked for me at all in 7 tries
@@ManMan31994 Part of that is on me, I forgot to mention this build is geared towards Multiplayer over Singleplayer. I find that 3-5 is usually enough.
Haven't said this in a while but, WELCOME TO THE WAR ROOM!!!
The devs definitely have fun making these movepools
Especially against all the people thinking azumarill would be fine with sap sipper
Bro is so real for the comment about the presidential debate. And from what I hear it was just that. 😂
1st try: killed
2nd try: ran out of pp for draining kiss
3rd: in progress
Update for 3rd try: SUCCESS 🎉
Clefable
252 Def/ 252 Spa/ 6 Hp
Ability: Unaware
Moves: Protect, Calm Mind, Draining Kiss, Alluring Voice
Held Item: Expert Belt
Alluring Voice turn 1, which will confuse Sceptile since it will most likely use Dragon Dance. Draining Kiss in general to get Hp back. Use Protect when ability is negated. Terastalize when or after using Protect. Alternate between Calm Mind and Draining Kiss, mostly in fear of Leaf Blade landing a crit, then alternate between Draining Kiss and Alluring Voice.
Could switch Alluring Voice for Moonblast for more power, but the confusion from Alluring Voice can use the Dragon Dance boosts against it
I was thinking unaware clefable, psych up-playrough combo
I find Alluring Voice is ineffective at actually getting the Sceptile to hurt itself in confusion. I would rather use Draining Kiss 3x to keep our HP intact. Then Tera Fairy Reflect -> Protect -> Calm Mind until ready -> spam Draining Kiss.
That Malamar set looks cool. I succeeded using Magearna.
Max HP and Def; Bold Nature; Draining Kiss, Iron Defense, Metal Sound; Fairy Feather; have an AI partner with Intimidate for extra safety.
Draining Kiss three times; Tera Fairy and use Metal Sound; Sceptile will reset stats; Iron Defense up to +6, mixing in Draining Kiss as needed; spam Draining Kiss until win.
Just beat it using your build, I almost sold cus I forgot to Increase draining kiss's pp but luckily forgot to remove aurora beam from its moveset
And thanks btw for this build
What item did you use?
@@cwallos fairy feather is the item, but if you don't have it then pixie plate is a good alternative, or if you dont have that either then an expert belt
@@jonarhax3388 I'm glad it worked for you. I got the basics of the build from a PokeTuber, with a few changes for more survivability.
Leaf Blade is annihilating me
I was able to do this with my usual Annihilape. Taunt, Bulk Up, Rage Fist is all you need.
what was your action guide
@@kawaki1207 I didn't use a guide, I just winged it.
@@kawaki1207 Just make sure to use Taunt first. Ability should be Defiant because of Breaking Swipe. And I made the fourth move Drain Punch for recovery. Tera Type Ghost for Rage Fist, and made it hold Metronome. The rest is fairly easy to figure out.
I used Magearna, thanks to soul heart. Every time an npc gets knocked out, Magearna gets a special attack boost
Moves
Draining kiss
Iron Defense
Reflect
Protect
Max HP
Max Special Attack
4 Defense
Bold nature
Metronome item
Ability Soul Heart
running the same! only with modest nature. reflect > iron defense > dk all the way
@Sam-zy3bu
I chose Bold for a little more defense
I also used a Magerna, but with Dazzling Gleam, Draining Kiss, Fleur Cannon and Iron Defense
really
@@leahluostarinen yeah it’s pretty easy tbh once you get the hang of it
Heads up. The adamant Annihilape (with Shell Bell) with the moves Rage Fist, Bulk Up, Taunt, and Focus Energy (Ghost Tera with the Defiant ability, of course) works decently, as well. I had max Attack and HP (probably better to have max Defense instead of HP, but I just used an Annihilape that I had already made for general raiding just to see if it could be done). I tested it a few times and it works. You might fail early on if you get bad RNG, but just try again. If all you want to do is catch the Sceptile and not farm it, this Annihilape set isn't a bad build to use.
Thank you! I don’t have DLC so I appreciate your help
I used my Annihilape from last raid, I just swapped out rain dance for Taunt and taunted turn 1. Then I bulked up after the stat reset and I used focus energy after I healed to full from shell bell and Tera'd.
What are your Annihilape's EVs and nature?
@@SeaOfPixels 252 Atk and 252 Defense with Adamant nature and Defiant for the ability
What tera type you used?
@@Joe-lu8og ghost to buff up Rage Fist
Confirmed. This one works well. Annihilape is GOAT.
Got it on my second try. Would have done it in one if it hadn't been for Sceptile getting a perfectly timed crit.
Didn't use focus energy. Used drain punch for better early regen. Taunted twice turn one and again when it wore off. Bulked up a few times after the reset and drain punched to fill health as needed. He didn't dragon dance until halfway through the timer. By then I was already defense buffed, terastalized and then unleashed rage fist for massive damage and that was that. Had a tauros first round and bellibolt second round, both were very helpful with intimidate and paralysis. Defiant ability eats up breaking swipe. Sceptile's turn 1 leaf storm nerfs its own attack when it can't dragon dance due to taunt.
Oh thank you so much dude because I had quite a day but knowing that I had a Clefable with Bold nature AND unaware Hidden Ability, in Pokémon HOME, this entire time, that someone gave me quite a while ago from the Alola Games, is actually gonna be useful so thank you so much for suggesting this because now I’m gonna use the very Pokémon that you just use your territory battle for me and anyone anyone else has benefit that’s this as well, including myself.
This made it super easy, thanks for the help Austin
I missed watching this war room detailed tips for tera raids!
I’ve used Skeledirge with fairy Tera.
252 defense/252 Special Attack/4 hp
Alluring voice
Protect
Slack off
Torch song
Torch song 3 times, protect, torch song 6 times and Tera with alluring voice.
Hey - *HEY!* - ...I love Sceptile 🥰 _especially_ Mega Sceptile. My favorite Pokémon, for sure 🖤
Awesome video bro thanks for the help! I got super lucky and had a tauros, staraptor, and a drifblim in my team!
Thank you so much Austin
Sceptile is my favorite fully evolved starter thanks Austin!
Galarian Weezing with clear smog is nicely chaotic too. Good supporter online to keep its stats at 0.
Yo! Many thanks for always coming up with a strat for these raids. I never know how to approach them and I’d probably never figure these out with the small amount of time we get to do them.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
0:16
Me too. I only learned how to pronounce it properly about four years ago.
awesome guide Austin thank you! Beat it on my first try, I used a Friend Ball. I forgot to check the nature of my shiny clefable, she was naughty lol the polar opposite of bold, and it was still super easy!
Than you for posting this!
Your Clefable strat worked perfectly for me on the first try. Thank you!
This is great I just got a shiny Clafairy and now I have something to use it on.
Thanks Austin
If going online, you can just bring a physically bulky Pokémon that knows Clear Smog and literally just spam that move. This significantly increases your party’s survivability. Sceptile isn’t that physically strong to begin with. Me personally, I brought a Torkoal with Clear Smog, Iron Defense, Body Press (Fighting Tera type), and Inferno (for the 100% burn chance). If your team has a damage dealer, just spam Clear Smog. Otherwise, you can use Iron Defense and Tera-Fighting Body Press to deal reasonable damage.
Did you had drought on Torkoal?
I did. I probably should have changed to White Smoke (to prevent stat drops from Breaking Swipe). Even with this moveset, I lost multiple times. I got lucky having an Annihilape on my online team spamming Rage Fist.
Thanks again!
My Shiny Clefairy will evolve and be built like this.
First try with your clafable build! Someone else had the malamar build as well and we kicked ass, thanks bro!
Mew with misty terrain, struggle bug works very well as a support with two fairy types
LOL seeing Austin cursing in a Pokemon video at 07:10
Thank You Austin John Plays For The Clefable Build Against Sceptile It Was Easy Using Your Guide I Just Had To Raise Clefable Draining Kiss To The Max I Was Beating It The First Time But I Ran Out Of The 10 Times I Could Use The Move So The Second Time Was The Charm For Me
Me: "Perfect, a foolproof strategy, there is no way I can..."
Sophie the NPC: "My Arboliva's seed sower heals everyone and boosts grass moves!"
Hisuian Goodra with Shell Armor worked surprisingly well, but your Clefable tech looks much cleaner.
I used a Hisuian Goodra as well, but with Sap Sipper and Tera fairy. Used chilling water to keep lowering it's attack. No one was ko'd partially due to the Pokémon of choice as well. There was a Fairy Plate Arceus, a Sylveon, and Orgin Form Dialga. Finished with maybe 60 percent of time remaining.
Might actually do my first shiny build. Got a shiny Clefairy that I got way back when they first introduced the mass outbreaks that’s just been sitting in my box
My successful attempt with getting Sceptile was with my Whimsicott. The moves I brought in were Taunt, Tailwind, Moonblast and Charm. I managed to stall it by using Taunt and lowering the heck out of its Attack with Charm.
Easy peasy. Thank you!
Love the videos 😊
I tried azumarill with zap zipper but the thunderpunch was too much.
Moved to farigjira with zap sipper with faerie tera, trick room, powr swap, and it went a bit better online for suppprting.
A salute to our captain in this fight o7
I used a Sinistcha with Iron Defense, Matcha Gatcha, Calm Mind and Hex. It never fainted when I used it against Sceptile. It had Max Hp and Defense and was holding leftovers.
Great build!
Draining kiss 3x
Tera
Reflect
Calm mind 2x
Draining kiss
a tip that just happened to me Sceptile got paralysed for a time due to a t-wave from Umbreon which dose help quite a bit also do three calm minds for step 4 instead of two I did two at first but barely did any damage a third helped out a lot though
This raid feels as difficult as the Mewtwo raid since Sceptile and Mewtwo both have a status move that allows them to power themselves up in an attempt to KO you or your allies.
This raid is actually very easy in comparison. Mewtwo is almost impossible to do solo, and even then you need the right RNG.
Didn't have a Clefable so I used my Enamorus with fairy terra type from Legends Arceus with basically the same moveset except instead of protect I used iron defense.
I used hisuian goodra with sap sipper and fairy terra. 252 in hp and sp.atk modest, then start of with 3 acid spray terra emideatly then shelter until plus 6 def then terra blast until he resets stats then 3 acid spray then terra blast until win
“Pi pi!” “Pi Pu!” x 15
I did a fighting tera Annihilape build with max attack and hp holding the metronome. Moves were taunt, focus energy, bulk up, and drain punch. Taunt turn one and then when needed to prevent dragon dance, drain punch until he removes stat changes from player’s side, then focus energy and bulk up to +6, then drain punch until you win. I did have a bellibolt that paralyzed him that helped, but I think it would have worked without it. Didn’t have to reset once because he crit me at +6 attack from dragon dance (can’t taunt when his shield is up), but got it 2nd try
The Clefairy build is amazing.
aaand i checked in just the day after it ended, excellent
I did it with classic iron hands. 3x defense yell, belly drum and than drainpunch Till death. Item metronom attack and health maxed out.
Mine's a Physical Unaware Clefable with ShellBell Max Attack Stat and Defense Stat; Play Rough, Cosmic Power, Moonlight, Psych Up,...Trick is to do Cosmic Power + Play Rough until Sceptile will nullify your buff, then do a Psych Up to copy its Stats Boost (this should be before it procs the shield), then cosmic power again to raise def, then you can do the rest with play rough until you Tera, moonlight is just for Coverage in case it crits with leaf blade
Magearna with iron defense, metal sound, draining kiss, and fleur cannon made this EASY
Took 4 tries because I needed to increase the number of Draining Kisses PP and because I twice messed up, but got it in the end.
It's risky but, if you play it right, you can actually get 3 Calm Minds in before chaining Draining Kisses
Fairy Tera Magearna holding a Cover Cloak (for thunder punch) worked just fine. Iron Defense after stat reset, soul heart will max special attack by itself, use draining kiss until shield break. Then use her unique move to one shot him.
Reporting for Duty!
I have a Kingambit set that works extremely well solo!
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Defense, 4 HP
Nature: Impish (or Adamant)
Ability: Defiant
Item: Shell Bell
Tera: Steel
Moves: Swords Dance, Iron Defense, Iron Head, last move is completely up to you. I ran Kowtow Cleave for more coverage
I ran Skeledirge with Unaware instead. Resisting the Grass with Fire while setting up was useful. Tera Fairy. Torch Song, Tera Blast, Will-O-Wisp, and Protect.
I used mew but two others used Anhileape and they carried with fighting Tera close combat
3× calm mind.
Corviknight tera fighting with body press, iron defense, taunt ,roost. Can beat Sceptile even with bad rgn with the thunder punch paralyze (beat it first tried but almost ran out of time cause bad rng paralyze)
I used terra-fairy Skeledirge myself. 252 HP/SPA -- Unaware -- Shell Bell -- Terra Blast/Torch Song/Slack Off/Protect. It's a little more involved and not as easy as the Clefable build but works fine.
I also used Skeledirge and honestly it’s too slow compared to Clefable.
What Austin forgot to mention in the video is you need PP up
Alright I’m gonna have to either bust out my Tera Fairy Gardevoir or Tera Fair Flutter Mane build to counter this 7 Star Tera Raid.
I have one for this Tera Raid:
I got Septile first try.
Skeledirge
Type: Fire/Ghost
Tera Type: Fairy
Ability: Unaware
Nature: Modest
Item: Shell Bell
Stats:
HP- 412
Sp. Atk- 350
Atk- 167
Sp. Def- 186
Def.- 237
Speed- 168
IV:
HP-252
Sp. Atk- 252
Def- 4
Moveset:
Mud-Slap
Torch Song
Tera Blast
Alluring Voice
Bro went invisible during the Tera animation 💀
If you have one other person to play support, a belly drum sheer force Cetitan with a covert cloak did extremely well with someone to heal, clear out its attack buffs, and keep snow or reflect up.
As of Sceptile, there are 7 starters available without the mightiest mark:
Feraligatr
Torterra
Infernape
Incineroar
Meowscarada
Skeledirge
Quaquaval
And the only type unused currently is dark.
Probably Dark Feraligatr if any of them get that type.
Last three were water, fire, grass starters, they will probably save the Paldea starters for last, and incineroar is infamous in competitive so will probably be the odd one out between the other two fire types and get a special highlight, and skeledirge will be a nightmare due to torch song buffs and they'll have just done another fire type before hand so it will probably send that trio out with a bang. They'll probably put in another paradox event or something like that before the paldea trio. There will probably be a big event after that since all the starters will be done and it will have been two years post launch, probably legendaries. So my guess for the order is:
Feraligatr
Infernape
Torterra
Incineroar
Special Event (iron valiant/roaring moon?)
Quaquaval
Meowscarada
Sekeledirge
Special Event (legendaries?)
I used Magearna.
I love boring fight ! Thank You mate :)
Nest Ball definitely disrespectful 😂🤣
Welcome to the war room
I used Magearna sir
@@RodimusMinor1987 were you in my one online raid that didn't go well?
@xerzac
My ign name is Diego, and no, I used Magearna for a solo build, I tried Azumaril online with an Arceus Hisuin Goodra and Flutter Mane, sorry pal I think you got the wrong person
@RodimusMinor1987 ok the whole reason I asked was I had some one with a magearna in my raid
@xerzac
It's fine. I only hosted. I haven't joined any. Also, Magearna only really works for solo build as when the npc faint, you get a stat buff thanks to soul heart ❤️
Like Austin said, Clefable, with the ability unaware, is best for online
Love you video ❤❤
I did it without pp up but I used bagon mind 5 times. You're videos are always my go to to beat the tera raids
Calm mind not bagon mind lol
Calm mind not bagon mind lol
oh he's like Emboar last week except even more chance to accidentally crit me, I ran Great Tusk for Emboar and basically the same amount of time taken to clear which was a chore lol
I'm gonna use my Alpha Clefable for this YIPPIIIIEEEE
I used the Goodra we used for the Venusaur raid. Changed Tera to Fairy. Immune to Grass due to Sap Sipper, immune to Dragon due to Fairy Tera.
Attacks were Dragon Claw (max pp) and Curse.
Could also use Gyro Ball, but Dragon Claw did more damage.
Use 3 Dragon Claws, Tera, keep Dragon Claws until negating. Then 6x Curse. Finish using Dragon Claw.
EZPZ🍋SQZ
I use Fairy Skeliderge with Torch Song and Alluring Voice, Max HP and Special Attack. Works well but not as good as the Clefable
I also did solo Clefable. (Tank build, damage was still good)
252 HP / 252 DEF / 6 SP.ATK (Bold Nature)
Calm Mind
Protect
Draining Kiss
Moonblast
Turn 1: calm mind
Turns till player reset: Draining Kiss / Moonblastb (to have 3 tera charges+max HP)
Player reset turn: Protect
-One attack to get the tera charge back
-Tera(fairy) Calm Mind / Draining Kiss (setup turns for 6 SP. ATK + max HP)
-MOONBLAST.... finished
The Tag at the Summary Screen shows Bold, but ingame it shows Modest.
Lets go
Gen 3 Starters are the best I Always hésitate when having to chose between one of the three 😯
You are my favorite content creator of all time, love the way you make videos.
Thank you, Austin Juan.
Hasta la vista.
dang I'm still battling 4-5 stars terra
How did you get the status of the pokemon during battle that shows the up arrows?
You can also just connect to the internet by pressing the L button to get the raids live
Aye, captain! worked first try!
So we all assumed a special attacker. When saw the lead storm out the gate, i already realized this was an L lol
Austin John: Gives view on Sceptile's move-set.
Sceptile during raid Dragon Dancing 6 times: Uh huh, this my s--t! All the mons stomp your feet like this!
You said bold nature but it shows you have a special attack boosting nature in assuming modest
He used a modest mint
I have no problem playing boring, McBain the Clefable finally has meaning again!
Malamar did work for me solo, but it was a super close call at first since i didn't adjust his tera but Squidward done me proud regardless.
