Best…game…ever! The SNES was the first system that I got just a couple of months after it came out, and by far my favorite one with the most games and accessories in my life. Link to the Past was my very favorite game though, and I wasn’t even into role playing games before it, or much since. It originally took me months of solid progress and figuring things out on my own, before the internet was a resource, to finally beat it and max out everything in the game. The satisfaction was just amazing. I don’t think kids today really appreciate figuring things out on their own or investing that much time into things anymore. It’s too bad. I still have my original SNES with its box and all of its paperwork, as well as Link to the Past and five other original games also with boxes and papers. They’ve become pretty valuable today, but I’d never sell them. That’s not the point. I still love that system and those games, and occasionally pull them out and play them. But to go back to that time from 1991 to about 1994? Oh man was that fun.
Thank you! You never get enough of ALttP - I received it as a gift upon its European release, never finished it at the time (couldn't find Dark Woods' final skull entrance!) and finished it later. A big thank you for helping me with many games, and a (belated) Merry Christmas!
I remember this game. It was a ton of fun and I played it every time I got off from work back then. I use to look forward to what new puzzle I'd be faced with. It took me about 1 year to beat the game even with a guide, "The Legend of Zelda: A link to the past game secrets - Zach Meston". I was single (20s) then and went to the Chicago Downtown Toys-r-us store and brought the SNES console + Star Fox + Link to the Past. What's funny was that I hadn't heard of the game prior. I just looked at the game box on the back that had screen shots and read the back story and thought it was cool. Then I went to Circuit City and got a big 27 inch TV, which was big back then. Got it home and plugged it up and was bitten by Zelda A Link to the Past. The music + graphics + game play. I was hooked. Star Fox was a blast as well. But Link to the Past got all my attention + after hours gaming time.
I played this around 2003-2005 when i was maybe in kindergarten or 1st grade at my uncles house. I never saw a game like it. I was used to the N64 and I don't think i played a super Nintendo before that, possibly i played donkey kong country and super Mario world. But i never saw a game where you could roam around with top scroller like Zelda had. I never forgot it even though i only played it at that time for a few minutes. Now i have the Nintendo switch and I'm able to venture into the zelda series for the first time at almost 27 years old.
There are a lot of things in this game that people say that a quite sad. The flute boy is probably number one but 2:04:16 is my favorite. "What a mischievous thing to leave lying around... The power of gold... Triforce..."
i played two times this game the last month !! thank you for this because back then i didnt have the money to buy the game and it was nice because i fulfield sth that i missed in my childhood
@@systematicallyshocked yeah for sure, i figured out a long long time ago haha it’s because you miss something in the castle before , you need to pick up a perl in the castle so you need to go back and do the castle again from the beggining
@@raphael3134 thanks! Finally! Took a good while but getting back to the mountain and traversing it was such a hassle 😅 then you have to switch back to light, go to the Castle and it’ll automatically switch back to dark world. When I got Zelda, got back to king. He is lying on the floor, dead and suddenly disappear. End up with Zelda all throughout the castle. X mark is still with my map . Don't what to do next?

Hi mate. Thanks for the vid. I am doing a retrospective on Link to the past, analyzing its various features. Can I get permission please to use your clips. chop them up, and include them in my video. I'll of course mention your channel at the end and in description. Cheers either way! - Sean
Excellent effort bravo. However, I'd love to see a more detailed walkthrough with thorough exploration and a slower pace. It would really capture the nostalgic vibe of how it felt to play as novice gamers. xoxo

No it was a step back from Neutopia 2 that came out 2 months earlier.

Timeless. We lived during the peak of gaming and creativity, they don’t make these type or caliber of games anymore
@@ZakRios333 The game sucks unless you have nostalgic value to it.

I think it is a little bit, especially for the time it came out!
It is
Yeah not sure how this isn't an open world game?
This game has the best first 30 min of any game. Jumping rite into the action, no tutorials. And the feel of it. Amazing
A 'stay at home' Mom; I mastered ZELDA, Link to the Past.

I always loved the Zelda games! The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past was my favorite. 😀
