Lana your videos are some of the best I have seen. I was totally frustrated looking at another on making a BF leaf and then I found yours. I totally understood it. Please make more. Much gratitude
:) Thanks so much! haha, I'm older than I look ;) but I've been beading many years also. I'm really glad to see so many people just trying out this beautiful craft. I'll have more videos coming eventually. Things are just super busy for me right now. Glad you're enjoying them!
Not sure how old you are (you sound young) but these are EXCELLENT video tutorials! I have been beading for many years, and am just undertaking the flowers. Your videos are so easy to follow and you provide such thorough instruction!! Keep them coming! They are wonderful and very much appreciated!
these videos are great! I understand a lot more with your videos than with so many other tutorials, books and magazines! because you do not do other videos? I certainly I would join your channel and I think many other people because you are very, very good!
Hi Lana, I have loved watching your tutorials, they are so clear to watch and understand, even though my lily does not quite look like yours, I loved trying it, and they are slowly getting better! Is there any chance you can show us how to do a calla lily?
Hi Rose, thanks for your comment! I'm glad you've enjoyed my tutorials :). Keep practicing and you'll do great! I have mentioned my calla lily pattern before and a few have shown interest in it. I'm planning to open my etsy shop soon and include in there a couple of my own original patterns for sale for a small price. I'm working on making the pattern look more professional and easy to understand, so when that's done I'll put a post about it on my channel feed and facebook page.
Great videos! I had trouble with the 45 degree angle on the other video at first but figured it out. Oh, I have a tip in case you don't know-16 seed beads equals approximately 1 inch. My flowers turned out great, thanks! Addicted!
Thanks for the comment, Diana! Glad you figured out the angles. I know it's tricky when you're just beginning. Great tip, too :) Just keep in mind that if you buy a lower quality of seed beads, they tend to be all different lengths. So, best bet is always measure....unless of course you've got uniform beads :). Just as a side note: lower quality beads still work perfectly for this craft, since the less uniform shape of the beads just adds an interesting texture. Have fun, and happy beading!
Hi, i love your videos! These has really helped me a lot on my project because I couldn't figure out my patterns just by reading it, and the illustrations aren't much of help :) I'm actually trying to make a bouquet for my wedding this december. I was starting to lose hope and was about to quit and just buy normal flowers when I saw your tutorials. So thank you so much for making these videos :) Will you also be doing tutorials on continuous double loop?
Hi Kyle, thanks very much. That's great to hear that you've been making these as gifts :). I'm planning on doing another tutorial soon. The carnation in my first video is from a really beautiful pattern in Dalene Kelly's book "More French-Beaded Flowers". But because of copyright laws and out of respect for the work of others I only teach patterns online that I have personally designed. My next video will be a lovely pattern that can be made into a hairclip.
Hi Cecilia, you should be able to find floral tape in the flower arranging section of any craft store, dollar store, or Walmart. If you can't find any in stores, ebay is a great place to look for supplies, and there are many more colors available that way. I hope that helps :)
Hi, thanks for the comment :) I'm glad you like my work. The wires I use for stems are 18 inches long, but I trim them to whatever length I think the stem would look good at. I'm not sure the thickness in mm for the different wires that I use. I'm from Canada and the wire that I buy here is listed buy gauge. In Lesson 1, I've provided a list of the supplies that are needed to make French beaded flowers.
I love your videos, you are a great teacher! This is my first time making beaded flowers and I was hoping that someone could teach me how to make a Calla Lilly. My wedding is summer of next year and I'd love to incorporate beaded flowers into my bouquet and the boutonnieres. Do you have a pattern or know any great resources?
Hi Virginia, thanks for commenting! I'm sorry, I haven't personally made beaded baskets. However, I have seen patterns for them in books... maybe there are some online?
:D! I'm so happy to hear that my videos have helped you! If you have any questions regarding making your bouquet, I'd be happy to help where I can. Just send me an email at crystalgarden.flowersbylana@gmail.com The next couple of videos will show the techniques for the continuous wrap-around loops and continuous crossover loops. I think that's what you're referring to with the double loop.
As to the shape of your petals, often times it just takes practice to learn to wrap the wire at different angles. You need to wrap it at a 45 degree angle to get a pointed tip, or 90 degrees for a rounded tip. If there is a lot of space between your rows, you may be using too many beads for each row. I hope this helps... it's hard to say without seeing a picture. I hope that your wedding bouquet turns out well! :)
hey lana i m totally in love with your work u r a wonderful designer.. i need your help i hope u wont refuse to do so... i m trying to make a wedding bouquet for u plz tell me how long is stem of the flower...and also can u plz tell what number of wire in mm do u use for flower making.. i i cant understand y my petals hav become round in shape n y is there so much space in between their rows
this is absolutely beautiful!! are u by chance going to do one for the rose and other flowers shown in ur pics?? i LOVE this and it would be great to do a full bouquet ^_^
Many of the other flowers in my pictures are flowers I made from published pattern books :) The best place to buy them seems to be online. Due to copyright laws, I can't share patterns that I haven't created myself.
Hi, thanks for watching! I know of a few really great pattern books: "The Art of French Beaded Flowers" by Carol Benner Doelp, "French Beaded Flowers" and "More French Beaded Flowers" both by Dalene Kelly, and "Bead Flowers" by Minako Shimonagase. I have actually written my own calla lily pattern. Email me at CrystalGarden.FlowersbyLana@gmail.com and I'll give you more information. :)

Hello from Brazil. Loved it! Very useful. I also would like to learn how to weave a bead basket. Thanks Virginia Costa
