Team curtains - these definitely add softness and warmth to a room. Hang the rods almost at the ceiling and position each rod so that there is a lot of room on each side of the window. I would add two curtain panels on each side for fullness and ensure that they just barely reach the inner part of the window frame so as not to obscure the lovely light and beautiful views. I would also remind my hubby that blinds will inevitably obstruct some of the view and that curtains are useful - they can be closed when you are on vacation/need privacy or want to assist with retaining cool/hot air inside your home. You've done a lovely decorating job - looking forward to future videos!!!

Team window treatments -- even if privacy isn't a concern, at night bare windows become big black holes. It will feel cozier at night (especially in the fall and winter) if you're able to mitigate the black hole effect with curtains or blinds.

Oh man same. Nothing creepier than turning your windows into a mirror at night time. You can’t see out but people can still see in, could be someone standing right there and you can’t see them 😮
I totally understand “the big black hole” 108” wide by 6’ windows!

Team curtain. My husband didn’t even notice when I put up curtains. A year later he was like we should put curtains in the living room and was shocked when I was like we’ve had them for over a year. I love the Ike linen ones and those would look great in there.
My husband and I have been together for 30 years. The trick with my husband when we disagree is to be neutral (or agree), and then do whatever I want. He very rarely even notices!

We have been on the minimal side for quite a while and have had no curtains in our living room for years. However, last year we did a makeover of the room and got amazing curtains that matched our decor. It wasn't until then that we realized what had been missing all along. 😄 So: Team Curtain! 😊
Team curtains here. Soft white,linen look, grommet tops. Use TP or paper towel tubes cut in approximately 2” lengths between every other grommet ( you can’t see them😊) for a perfect look. Be sure to hang them near the ceiling and not window height. They will help with noise as well.

Definitely curtains. My first house came with blinds and we lived with just those for years and years. I finally added curtains and I was so disappointed that I hadn't done it sooner. It makes a huge difference and takes your house to the next level. Go for it!

I really like the minimal look more and more as I get older. I like looking at the outdoors and letting the light in. That being said, congratulations on your home Cas! Team Curtain! Love a bit of fabric to soften and finish a window. Also, when it's cold, wet and dark, it's nice to draw the curtains and shut the outside world out.

I have ADHD. At the age of 59, I found out I had it. A month later I turned 60. I still learning about me in this new space of my ADHD. Next month I will be 61. Anyway, I was into so many things. Being on lockdown during COVID-19 19 did not bother me. My ADHD DAM BURS. I love spinning time by myself. I can work on healing the parts of me 1 at a time in my peaceful mind & my spirit. While stripping furniture, reupholstering doing house, chores, sewing, painting, my ceramics, cutting grass being in my flower bed and being my own best friend. You are my friend in my head. You have the Organizing skills that God has gifted to you. Thank you so much for sharing with us and teaching us so many warm wonderful, things Thank you for caring enough to help so many people who can not afford to pay for someone to help them get their lives organized. Definitely team curtains! After living with shades for years, I've decided that I hate cleaning them. I love the curtains that don't need clips or rings to hold them on the rod and it's so easy to wash them! Throw them in the washer then the dryer then back up they go, done! I also think that during the colder months curtains make your rooms feel cozy.

Our dining room was peach when we moved in, yes... PEACH. I painted it an antique white and put a cheap, but beautiful rug underneath the dining table. For about $150, it was a HUGE transformation and I absolutely LOVE my dining room now!!!
I wish I could post a picture of my bedroom. I finally took down my old (brown) curtains and wooden rods. Put up metal rods and white sheers. Oh my gosh! So romantic! (That idea alone might help win him over! 😂)

Team curtains... my hubby and I retired and moved closer to the beach. Absolutely loved the light in the new house, did nothing with the windows for four years. Then yes put panels on the sides of the windows in three rooms, living room, dinning room and family room. That was the finishing touch each space needed ❤

Team Curtains! I had the same debate with my husband one time. He loved our view and didn't want to distract from it. I promised him it wouldn't and if it did, we could take them down. Once we got them up and he saw how subtle they were yet how much they added, he came to my side.😊

As much as I love green, I am SO GLAD you painted that fireplace room. It looks much less crusty and claustrophobic. Also, DEFINITELY window treatments. Hang the rod halfway between the window and ceiling, allow room to open curtains wider than the frame, and get floor-length or pooling curtains. Makes such a cozier room without enclosing it.

It's always curtains for me :) I would give a tip: ask him on a scale of 1-10 how important this decision is to him. Then see how it compares to your importance rating. My husband and I often find that we fight over things that one of us doesn't even care that much about. If one gives a 3 and the other a 9, we easily know which decision to make. You are a fan of softness (cozy, fluffy pillows and blankets), he is a fan of streamline. It's two clashing styles.. I say compromise.
In the living areas (where there are throw pillows and blankets) add minimalist looking curtains (white, hung high, etc). In the dining area go no curtains/no blinds. There isn't as many "soft, cozy" feels that it wont come off as odd to not have them in this space. He wins dining, you win living area ;)

It softens harsh lines, adds warmth and cosiness especially as we enter into fall/winter, completes the room as you say and for homes that need privacy it would be the best option (I know for your place specifically, it’s not one of the reason)

Coming from someone who generally likes nothing on the windows…my suggestion would be curtains on the bay window but leave the patio window open. I think the curtains on the bay window would definitely soften up the room and make it more cozy.
