Great idea to go ahead and order the grapple! I think I'm going to order one too. Then, when it comes, my wife will say "What are you going to do with THAT? You don't have a tractor to put it on!" And then I'll say, "Well it would be dumb to spend the money on this grapple and then just have it sit in the yard. So I guess I need to buy a tractor so I can use it!!!!" I'm a super-genius!! 😂
Brilliant, this is how I did my first tractor. We lived on a 1/2 acre city lot and I bought a tractor because then I needed land to use the tractor on. Worked out perfectly lol. Sure Rachel thought I was crazy but that’s nothing new.
Heath I’m really impressed with the performance of the CS-501 (ported) it cuts like a 60cc saw. Well done. I’m glad Rachel was able to get all the wood chips off her clothes. Keep on cutting
That little 501 is a firecracker! I love my firewood ProSizers quite a bit (I have 3) but do not like having them on the saw when I am felling trees. It can be done of course but sometimes I just want to hold the handle where I is clamped on. Looks like some nice trees. Good work putting the tree where you wanted it.
That should help substantially with the muddy driveway. Nice maple rounds. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a wedge break off like that. Glad you didn’t get hurt. And yes you need a grapple😂Good stuff.
You have a dump trailer just get you some of that taikanite rock, or crushed concrete. Save the trees! haha j/k. My late neighbor, ROD (RIP) 😇😣put that in a drainage/flow area at start of his driveway, I always though it was going to cause tire damage driving over it! ha! I need me some of that for my divided driveway! I came back to watch (monetization). Thanks Michigan!
Thanks David, not sure if it’s in trouble again or still lol. I love the pants especially when getting on and off the tractor etc. they don’t get hung up on stuff like traditional chaps.
Good job. Like the pro-sizer. First time I seen that. Batteries always fail when your pressed for time, lol. I try cut mine 24" for the log spliter and out side furnace. All of my Stihls have 20" inch bars so I turn it sideways and from the tip of the bar to the curve by the bar nuts is about 23 1/2". A little slower but works. Keep the videos coming. It always fun to watch someone else work.😁
Thanks James, I used to do that as well as use a stick and sidewalk chalk etc. I won this Pro Sizer through a give away on the Tonys Cool Tools channel and really like it.
That definitely needs to be thinned out. There's to many small trees that need to come out and allow some sunlight into that space. Of course it does and yeah when you cut with an axe you know it. Just be safe and thanks you two. Boy you sure can tell by your accent your from Michigan. Half my family is from Michigan. So it's all good. Thanks and be safe.
I sure like the rounds, but the tops are good too. Some people leave the stumps tall so it’s easier to pull the stump out. More leverage. Great job Heath. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
I can hear the kick in those 'ported' chainsaws. Even if I don't fully understand what ported, it is. It's like having an INDY 500 (Crotch rocket) Snowmobile. I hear it! Do you have to change the oil:gas ratio?
I know you are a safe person but please put your face shield down. Let's see how mad Racheal gets after you tell her about the grapple - LOL. Stay safe.
You had a backhoe on the tractor. Turn around and pick up the logs with the backhoe. You can curl the bucket enough to pinch it even though you don't have a mechanical or hyd thumb
I cut trees high as well. I get nasty comments when I do it. lol. That and wearing shorts and hey dudes. lol. I want to be comfortable as well as not bending over. 😂😂
Hydrayne there is a link in the description of this video. Just click the more button under the video. I would not buy one off Amazon as they appear to be counterfeits.
hey Heath I really don't want to come across as overly critical. With the tree that got hung up, it looked like you rushed the notch. Maybe didn't use the felling sights as well. I'd rather see you make the level cut first using the sights on the saw then make the angled cut. You can always (and should) clean up the notch for any dutchman. Just my 2 cents. I'm not a pro logger either. Why not cut these longer and just run them through the DYNA? Change of pace? Good stuff.
I agree, I should have cleaned up the notch a touch better! We didn’t use the Dyna because we wanted smaller more premium splits from these beautiful maple rounds.
Great job sir BUT one question??? Why do you and pretty much everyone else on here Cut your stumps so frigging high ????? I worked in the woods a lot of years and we were. Always taught Cut them low to the ground for much easier maneuvering around I don’t understand And f you have ever mentioned it so sorry that I missed it anyway thank you for sharing and a big hello and good bye to Mrs Rachel ❤❤❤❤
Thanks David. It is just easier to work at a more comfortable level. I take the stumps down after the tree is felled. Cutting for firewood it doesn’t matter as much as if we were cutting for lumber.
don't know why people need to use a pro sizer and any laser system. I use a wisker. They cost like $.15 and they work no mater what. They weigh nothing and you never need to worry about knocking it or anything.. If for some reason you brake one it's only $.15 cents to replace it
Yeah we ran the processor in the last video. However we wanted to split these down into more premium smaller splits and love running chainsaws! We do a little bit of everything here from splitting mauls all the way to full blown processors.

Thanks Brian, that saw is definitely a screamer. Dyno Joe did a great job.
“Like a Polaroid picture”. 😂😂😂😂😂
I laughed at that too.
That Echo is a screamer!
Yes it is! Love that saw!
Hey Heath , nice job on felling the trees . 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks Del!
Good job getting those knocked down! Sure is nice to have the tractor around as well! That maple will make some nice firewood.
Thanks Russ, it will definitely make awesome splits, and with the All Wood it won’t take long!
That maple is going to make some nice bundle wood
Yes it is! Thanks.

Thanks, and I agree! If I was doing a lot of felling I would have taken it off. They are nice for fast precision bucking though.
hi there Confucius says man who saws of forks doesn't plow dirt . lol good sawing , best to all john
Thanks John! Not perfect but got it done!
Good work getting the hung up tree down Heath!
Thanks Joe! I was a little nervous when it started sliding up the fork carrier lol.
That maple sure will make some promo firewood!👍👍
Yes it will! Thanks Jeremiah.
Haha my wife would be out there with a stop watch talking bout “I need you to hurry, Amazon could be here any minute”
lol I think Amazon does laps in our driveway throwing out packages.
I am excited to see you use this hot little saw!
Love that saw!
That should help substantially with the muddy driveway. Nice maple rounds. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a wedge break off like that. Glad you didn’t get hurt. And yes you need a grapple😂Good stuff.
Thanks, I definitely think it will help! That’s the first wedge I’ve ever broke as well.

We definitely need to add some stone as well!
Nice felling and bucking!!! Guess you gonna be in trouble , again!!! I need a pair of chainsaw pants. Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Thanks David, not sure if it’s in trouble again or still lol. I love the pants especially when getting on and off the tractor etc. they don’t get hung up on stuff like traditional chaps.
When you are leaning on the 501, it cleans up nicely and eats!
Yes it does! I need to sharpen it and bump the rakers.
The laser pointer does make quick work of making accurate cut lengths of firewood. Nice job!
Love mine
or your eye balls/experience. 😃
@@ClickinChickenyeah that’s what I do.
@@ClickinChicken for bundled wood I find that it’s better to have the wood as consistent as possible. It all depends on what you’re looking for.
Yes it does, if I was just cutting for myself I wouldn’t use it but cutting to sell I try to keep the wood as perfectly sized as possible.
Good one Heath……you survived working alone lmao 🤩 Barely 😂 Great pile of really nice rounds 🔥🪵👍👏🇺🇸
Yes I did, thank you.
Great job fellen the trees
Thanks John.

Nice cutting heath . It’s a cold one today. Merry Christmas to all ❤
You ain’t lying the wind was whipping!
Heath, you made a lot more rounds then if Rachel was filming on some excellent maple 🍁 trees 👍✅😮😊❤
Thanks Todd!
“Dr. Evil” came to mind as I watched …I had to wonder HOW is Heath making such accurately spaced cuts? Of course, it is a: “LASER!”
It’s a LASER.
Cutting along the driveway sure makes it nice getting to the logs.
Yes it does!
That definitely needs to be thinned out. There's to many small trees that need to come out and allow some sunlight into that space. Of course it does and yeah when you cut with an axe you know it. Definitely! Thanks Stephen.
Look at a Westendorf log grapple ( no hydraulic needed) , I have one and I use it all the time and not expensive 😊
Thanks I’ll check it out.
I use stumps for directional pulling other trees
Definitely another use for them.
I sure like the rounds, but the tops are good too.

Thanks Noel, the tops will be processed as well just at a later date, always running out of daylight.

That laser really works nice
Yes it does, thanks Clarence. You guys have snow there yet?
@hardworkingmanoutdoors About 6" in Harrison

Nice bucking 👍
Thanks Lyle.
A less muddy driveway will be nice! But man, it hurts to see such nice maples being cut down- even though you don't tap those ones lol
They are nice trees for sure!
Suuuuweeet sounding 501p!
I agree Jason!! Thanks. Love that saw.
I was using stihl wedges and had the same thing happen a couple times definitely smarts when they break I’m trying a different brand now
Hello Dave! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
@ I’ve been watching your videos, but not commenting much I seen you trying to dump the rock off the trailer
@ hahahahah. Ya …….😉
David, that’s the first one I’ve had do that. I use a lot of the Husqvarna wedges. This was a cheaper one that I had liked up until now.
Heath had a wooded lot soon to be a field lol.
lol, not quite that much cutting but I do have a bit more to do.
I can hear the kick in those 'ported' chainsaws. Even if I don't fully understand what ported, it is. It's like having an INDY 500 (Crotch rocket) Snowmobile. I hear it! Do you have to change the oil:gas ratio?
They definitely have a different sound to them. I run them at 40:1 same as before.
why do you leave the stumps so high off the ground. right after I typed this you answered my question. thank you
You’re welcome.
About what temp was it when the wedge broke?
Right around freezing. Up until this point I’ve liked those wedges.
why didn't you buck them into 12ft and run them through the Dyna?
We wanted to get smaller more premium splits out of these.
I know you are a safe person but please put your face shield down. Let's see how mad Racheal gets after you tell her about the grapple - LOL. Stay safe.
I need a new face shield, this one has been smashed and tore up. I’m sure Rachel will be fine with it. I hope lol.
You had a backhoe on the tractor. Turn around and pick up the logs with the backhoe. You can curl the bucket enough to pinch it even though you don't have a mechanical or hyd thumb
I thought about trying that but wasn’t sure if I should carry that much weight on the backhoe frame with the support legs off the ground?
I have a full size double hinged grapple also but the Backhoe is way easier
@ be sure to check out today’s video. It should be posted soon. I made an upgrade.
Hello everyone
Hello!
Where did you buy the laser pointer
I actually won this one on Tony’s Cool Tools but they are available at firewoodprosizer.com. There’s a link in the description of this video.
That maple is going to make some nice firewood. The laser is nice , I still think the zip ties like Chris from In The Wood Yard uses is faster.
Thanks, it definitely made some premium wood! I never really liked the zip ties but for those who do they’re definitely cheaper.
👍
Thanks.
Man ! Are U a Dangerous Weapon ! Should’ve just hooked up a chain to tree & pulled out ! Getting tractor underneath that tree is Extremely dangerous!
Looking back I’d say you are correct!
I would like to see you guys fell a tree using a cross saw
I’d try it if I had one.
If you need a laser to cut firewood Just keep practicing. I guess if your loaded you can use it
I don’t need it but it sure helps get premium perfectly sized rounds.
I cut trees high as well. I get nasty comments when I do it. lol. That and wearing shorts and hey dudes. lol. I want to be comfortable as well as not bending over. 😂😂
For sure! I’ll take the stumps down later.
What was the name of the little handheld blower
Hydrayne there is a link in the description of this video. Just click the more button under the video. I would not buy one off Amazon as they appear to be counterfeits.
Heath to save time if you know it going one way don't bother with the knock just do a face cut n back cut n move on
I haven’t tried that before. I did learn the hard way that skipping the face cut is dangerous!
@hardworkingmanoutdoors barber chair they call that
Why do you leave your stumps so high?
I cut them down later, it’s just more comfortable for felling. Cutting for firewood it doesn’t matter like cutting for lumber.
👍🇺🇸
Thanks, how’s Larry doing?
Nice video - While the Cat's Away.... what kind of grapple did you get?
Going to keep that secret until I get it! Try to build some suspense lol.
So Heath, you didn’t say why you change the saw from summer to winter. ??? I know, I think. 🤭
I believe it’s just to have warmer air at the intake but not positive.
I believe you’re right. And it to keep the carburetor from freezing up. I think.
@ yeah I thought about that too.
