What is the best quality lithium battery? I would use it for a boat. I’m debating between one of these cheaper ones and the nicer ones like battleborn

If one cell in the cell pack is defective the BMS will do the Over voltage protect. You have to watch the voltage of each cell individually to catch this pretty quick occurrence. The cell pack's voltage will drop pretty quick back to a resting voltage of the 3.xx
Although the BMS should recover and allow discharges but no charges until the OVP reconnect voltage is reached.
I presume that all BMS's do not work this way.

I'm looking to buy one of these, but glad I came across your video. Out of curiosity, have you received the replacement from Power Queen yet? If so, does it have any issues? Any luck with a replacement BMS?

This battery was provided to me by PowerQueen for a review. Unfortunately, the sample they sent me had this faulty BMS. They are sending me another battery for review, I have not received it yet, should be here in a few days. Now that being said, the battery they are sending is some new model they want me to review, so not even the same unit. I could be wrong, so this is just my opinion, I feel like most of these budget LiFePO4 batteries come out of the same factory, and different companies just private label them. As for a replacement BMS, I have not gotten around to it. Hope you find something, I find Amazon handy when I'm buying stuff like this because most of the time I can return it in 30 day no questions asked.

The new form factor (pouch cells vs prismatic) is hitting the market. Aka “Mini”. Under Redodo, PQ, and LiTime labels. It is a more Useful SIZE, and the pouch form factor has been used in EVs since day one. I’m still a tiny bit apprehensive of steering away from prismatic, to maximize CRITICAL space allocation.
Hopefully you’ll get a chance to (Test) one …
“What happens if we do this … ?” 😜

I have tested the mini batteries with pouch cells from Redodo, and LiTime. I also have the PowerQueen on my bench.

@@JOHNDANIEL1 I watched this whole video and found your comment. Thank You. Power queen offered to refund my money and send the mini back. But I have to drive 80 miles round trip to the exclusive Fed Ex place that handle lithium battery shipment. So I decided to keep the battery. My 1000 watt square wave inverter works with it. Maybe I can run a fan to keep me cool. Cheers. Have a good weekend.

@@JOHNDANIEL1 I already have one. We will see how it goes. Too bad my first purchase was into that realm. I will be making video's about my experience.

Leave the switch mode power supply on 14.20V for + - 24 hours connected to the battery. Once removed, the "resting voltage" should be + - 13.30V and it should stay there, with no load connected, at least for a week. If the voltage during this time however go lower, it's most probably a faulty BMS.

At 4.46 time stamp you put the red lead on black terminal and black lead of your meter on red terminal to get a reading

    • @BradCagle
      @BradCagle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, this is perfectly fine with a multimeter. The only difference is the meter will show the (Neg -) sign on the display, the abs value will be the same regardless of the polarity.

Dialectic grease is used to stop corrosion. It does nothing else. So the white stuff is useful.....
Why the BMS is so important.. And torquing the connections down good...

I'm from Honduras, I bought a 25.6V, 100 Ah battery online for $685 on Oct 31, 2022 from Power Queen company. The battery did not reach its destination, a locker in Doral, Miami Dade County. Three months later, Power Queen says she'll pay me back $100. I lost $585.
Despite the fact that I paid 7% sales tax in the State of Alabama (USA), it seems that I am not entitled to receive a full refund of my money.

that where the issue are , these batteries seem like a great thing but have BMS electronic circuit(cheap components) which fails eventually, cant hold that current in and out constantly , some 6 months , or 2 years max , china just make money on you $150, $250 $500 etc buying new ones over and over , its better to by agm/ sla lead acid battery Has None , and why they will last for sure .
