I love Nike Dunks but hate that they are so hard to get. Nike created this Dunk phenomenon off of skateboarding culture and now skateboarders can’t get their hands on them
You can't even get regular dunks without setting up a bot to buy them as soon as they go on sale. I missed out on a pair of Dunk Low "Veneer" by a fraction of a minute because I am a human and have responsibilities. I just like the look and feel of an SB Dunk, it reminds me of big comfy skate sneakers that practically don't exist anymore. I miss having SB Dunk accessible and Osiris NYC 83 VLC in a variety of styles, now you gotta wear these tennis sneaker style kicks and just hope for the best.

I just dont get the whole sneakers craze and could never imagine spending $500 on a single pair of shoes that I planned on skating in. As far as the person above mentioning osiris NYC 83 they have them in stock at my local zumiez for $74.99. Granted they only have the ugly imo red color ones.

Those are my first pair of skateboard specific shoes. The Bruin Reacts...I seriously never realized how much of a difference they make..I always just used my old basketball shoes because I never wanted to mess up my shoes skating with them...They do make a HUGE difference with grip

I bought my first Nike shoe since 2012 yesterday. For 10 years I haven't had a single pair of Nike even though I remember I liked them a lot as a kid. The more I got into skateboarding and the more I understood the business side of things the more I gravitated towards core skateboarding brands like eS, Emerica, Etnies, DVS. In the last 4-5 years I had probably 15 pairs of those brands but yesterday decided I want to get the Nike SB Force 58 which is a new model and a cheaper spiritual succesor to the Dunk Lows. So far to be honest they look amazing, I am really digging the look. Also the first time when I tried them I really liked how they felt on feet. The cupsole seems like it has medium impact protection which I think will be enough. I am yet to skate them but I have high hopes for those shoes. I kinda hate myself for liking a Nike shoe right now, but what can I do. They feel good on feet and look even better.

I was a long time Nike skater, mainly Janoski's since they released, but switched to vans to save money about a year ago now. I've gone thru way more pairs of Vans than I would had I bought Nike's. That being said, at the same time the affordability and being able to have a new pair of shoes more often is a good benefit of Vans for me. I prefer the new board + new shoes feel. But this video definitely makes me want to give Nike another shot if I can pickup a sale price.
Crazy to see you skating riverside I just took a trip to New York a few weeks ago and saw this place with a buddy on our way into the city and just had to come skate it. We ended up meeting ishod here which was cool! Would’ve been awesome to meet you man
I'm currently skating these same shoes, and have owned 13 pairs... The flick with these is on point, and they make me feel like it will be there every time. However they do wear down suuuuper quick. Still love them.
I got the red jawns. I have wide feet so i can only skate them with no socks go figure. Great for skating tho. Im dedicated to adidas suciu and nike sb dunk lows...havent copped a pair of dunks since they used to be 75$ on ebay back in the golden yrs of 2014-15. But any suciu i find is s must. Sooo comfortable and grip on the board. Just my opinion from 27yrs of pushing plastic to wood. Freeformer banana board...still got it👊👊
Skated mostly vans pro slip ons, I tried nikes twice because I kept gettimg great recommandations ! Probably just the way my feet are but the nikes hurt significantly more than the vans. I get my shoes a full size smaller so they stay snug, so when I got the nikes I got the size that offered the snug feeling I like. Never again, the shoe fell apart on my front foot significantly quicker and had pain walking from both nikes, again I get my vans to fit extra tight! Def staying with the vans pros!
I had these shoes. Went up half a size and they were still tight after breaking in. Cut the sides of the tongue foot wrap thing on the inside and they were not bad, but the sole was still a bit narrow. They skated alright, though heelflips were a bit weird, I think because of the sole not being flat in the heel.
I’m no shoe reviewer but I’ve been messing with the nyjah free 2s and I really like the way they fit, they are my first Nike in a while. Aside from those the joslin version 1 fit me really well from etnies. They are a lot tighter than most etnies with nice heel support and good absorption
Nike & addidas have been skater shoes used long ago as many who study the culture of skateboarding know. Nike sb created a actual shoe with science to help skaters prevent heel bruise & dunks hands down are a great shoe with different models & exclusive collabs which also made them a top skate shoe now.
I’ve been skating the Nyjah 2’s and I never skate Nike, but idk there’s just something about that shoe that feels right. My flip tricks feel so good, plus Nyjah designed them for us guys with wider feet.

Ik that you have a lot of work and things happening in your life but something like that would be sick and I really hope I'll see a street part from you one day😁
You chose the right one. The other choices you showed, like the advocate, are stiffer, narrower, and bulkier. The ones you chose are great out if the box, have lots of color ways, look good off the board...but are not great for longevity or impact.
Team Classics? I skated so many pairs of those for the past 2 years. They are my favorite Nike shoes to shred besides Blazers. Now I'm rocking Vans haha high top Gilbert Crockett Pro 2's are what I'm feeling for the time being.
was never a big fan of Nike, had a couple pairs and did not like them at all. I am glad I gave these shoes a chance though, some of the best shoes I have ever skated. A good middle ground sole (not too thin with just enough protection) and proper fit, flick feel and they do last a good amount.
I’ve always skated Nike team classic, jans and dunks love them though like you said grip is a lot when new definitely with new grip. Vans feel a little bulky and toe heavy to me.
