This song is not sad but bittersweet. It's important for you and your listeners to recognize that this song was written, performed and aimed at a male audience. Why you should ask? Because men have compassion and tears in them too. You should try Marty Robbins, "My woman, my woman, my wife."

While in Iraq back in 2004, my Soldiers were all talking how nothing could make them cry. I pulled up this song , plus Giddy Up Go and Roses For Momma. They were all blubbering after each song and blubbering so much they all thought of to call their homes and talk to each of their parents. I even called mine too.

Red Sovine makes you cry in so many songs. Little Rosa is another one. Whoo I was crying and I know this song.

My dad was a trucker most of his life. He loved this song and we would listen to it quite frequently. We lost him to cancer 4 months ago, and I can't ever listen to this without bawling.

Anytime I see someone react to this particular song, I watch with giddy anticipation. I truly believe that you have never heard of it and have no idea what it's about and I believe that about everyone who reacts to it. That is what makes it so fun! Buckle up! I haven't actually watched you get to the lyrics yet, but I am excited about this!

What I find amazing is you did a song by Red Sovine. This is old country. it needs love. it was a different era. WOW Girl.

I’ve been listening to this song for 40 years or better and I still tear up every time I hear it! This ain’t even his saddest song.

I was 5 when this song came out and after 44 years this song still makes me cry. My dad had MD and couldn't walk, then I lost him when I was 7. So this song reminds me of him. It's been a while since I've heard this song so thanks for the memories I had with my dad.

I agree with mike adams: phantom 309 and bringing Mary home, and our last goodbye. All bittersweet and sad .

Omg! You got a subscriber just for doing this! Love me some old truckers music! I spent the first part of my life in my dad's truck in the very early 80s. Keep up the great music!

Haven't heard this in years. I was raised by an old trucker in the 6os and 70s. This kind of music was always in the background of my childhood. My dad passed 2 months ago, brought a little tear to my eye.
