      @@davymania8961 no I had to change a few things out from engines. I had to change the oil pan and gasket from off old motor to it. Exhaust manifolds and timing cover and replaced all gaskets

      Ok cool bro what about the wiring harness, the wiring harness came with 01 Marquis engine so could I use that same harness and will it connect to the GT computer

    I would've done the NPI block with the PI heads, little bump in compression would've put you over stock hp. This sounds sick tho, my Grand Marquis needs to sound like this, damn

      @@twinbetter yes lol Very loud though and I'm still getting used to that. Funny part is I sold my 1997 Grand Marquis that I worked on for 7yrs to get the mustang and it just so happened to have a Grand Marquis engine being sunk into it. Hahahaha.

      The later crown vics had a little more horsepower than the old 1996-1998 mustangs. Plus you can find a crown Vic engine for dirt cheap.

    just picked up an 08 motor from a crown vic... One more question, did you keep the COP ignition system thats on an 08 and if so how did you make it work?

    Even if you only did the swap for the PI cylinder heads, now you benefit from a much lower mileage engine than (what I assume) it had. Now its an SN95 with what is essentially the heart of a New Edge haha.

      This motor will have less horsepower than a new edge even tho its PI. Crown vics had a more conservative cam. If he swapped in mustang cams it would basically be identical though.

      Ruszko yeah I done it to my 02 gt with an 03 vic engine just swapped the oil pan and intake manifold over from the gt and pulleys and your good to go

    also, how did you bypass the pats system after the engine swap? Did you keep your 96 gt transmission or swap the vic transmission in?

    Could you swap the crown Vic’s 4.6L into a 05-09 V6 mustang

      It’s very possible you can just about put any motor in any car. But a 4.6 into a v6 car requires a lot of mods from mounts, to transmission to the computer to the wire harness. It will be tons and you also have to consider the suspension. It can be done but mega work to be done.

    Doesnt the crown vic 4.6 make less hot than the mustang 4.6? I was looking at the 99 mustang gr and it makes 320hp vs 250hp in my 08 crown vic. It's got me wanting to swap in the mustang engine

      i used the intake from a 04 crown vic causze it had the temp plug in still, the 09 did not have a temp plug. The belt and pullies all stayed and worked.

      Just did the same swap, 09 cv to 96 gt auto. removed t-stat aluminum front of intake and replaced it with the 96. Stock 96 is 215 hp. The vic is 265 hp. big difference....bbk throttle body from 96, used 96 oil filter housing. The oil pan I believe is a bit taller as the engine touches the lower chassis brace, need to modify soon.

      Ian rocks The highest hp the crown vic ever achieved was 250hp..idk where you got 265 but that’s higher than the new edge mustang (260) so idk why that would even sound correct lmao

      Hunter Ray I used the 96 computer, the engine are the same, I took the engine from the Vic, and bolted into my transmission and mounts on the mustang. Only thing I had to do what install a temp sensor since the 04 was set up different.

    I have a 2000 Ford Mustang GT, can I drop a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis in it? if so what changes will I have to make?

      This is what I found out, “The Grand Marquis motor will work for sure if the GT was 01-04, but there are slight differences in the motors from 99-00 and 01-04. Just get both motors next to each other and compare the block, heads, valve covers, & timing cover.
      Use the Mustang:
      Oil pan.
      Intake manifold with throttle body and plenum.
      Exhaust manifolds.
      Water pump.
      Engine Accessories and wiring.
      Other than that, the heads, timing cover, block are the same.”

      F.A.M.E Music industry interesting, I assume the hose from the Vic are lined up different. Since I used my mustang radiator it was plug and play from the mustang water hose.

      @@shanvhere78 good to know. I'm gearing up to swap the 02 PI in very soon and just wanted to touch on the basics of this interchangeable swap. I've got the mustang PI intake, fuel injectors and fuel rails, trick flow throttle body and plenum, CAI, egr tube, coolant crossover tube to radiator, non PI valve covers, the brackets and the coil packs, the 98 harness, starter, and spark plug wires.
      Anything I'm overlooking?

      big weez it’s smart, the motors in that 98 was so restricted with air it was a whole different with the PI motor

      Edgar Ortega from what I gather it’s pretty much the same engine except the intakes, you’ll have to use the mustang ones. But the Mustang was originally a V8 I assume. But what I did was had both my motors sitting next to each other and did an examine and see what I needed to swop and not swop

      Yea it is, you ,ay need to put a suspension in but dont think it's needed, you pretty much have the hard items covered. Dont forget the computer and harness you also need that

      They generally bolt right up, well mine did and was from the mustang. I think it depends on how many bolts the flywheel has

      I think going from a mustang to that town car will require a lot of modding and switching parts, yes it can be done but it will take work. I think the setup is different on those generations

      I don’t know much for the suspension from the v6 to v8 it’s a better motor upgrade from the 96 ones

      @@Ben-ph3gb I think the swap could be a direct drop in but you'll have to research. The point of the modular platform was to make as much of the motors as interchangeable as possible so if ur lucky you might just be able to drop it in no problem
