Just bought my first saw today, Had my dads old MS250 for about 10 years. Got me a MS 362 now with a 25" bar. This is not what I was expecting to find but I may have to start watching these. this new saw is a beast and can respect the power of what saws can do now.
Boxing is my sport but this right here deserves more attention, respect, & honor god damn that looks so exhausting. I highly respect the focus, technique and skill of these guys.
I've been watching a lot of timber sports lately, but I've not seen a single black person competing Can anyone tell me... i mean is it a white people thing...??
I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.
How did I get here? Using the same STIHL Chainsaw for 24 years cutting and STIHL cutting what a beauty yea! STIHL 038 Magnum quality a reliable tough grunt with power that keeps on cutting in 2019 since original purchase in 1995. STIHL! A classic... be proud... thanks to STIHL. Ansett 727.
wow, nice competition, but @ 22:04 the great thing is: that the contestant did NOT fall onto the axe head and injure or worse slit his own throat with the axe head !! , few!! that was a close one!!
No doubt these are strong ass men. I don’t see the drama that being put into it by the announcers. At least they don’t have a plastic hose bag with fake bags interviewing these men.
now i really feel like watching some paper boat sport-ing down at local ditch. i hope i can handle it, it gets pretty ruff out there! them boat people not messin around.
White pine is a very soft wood. Might as well use a pencil. I'd like to see a hard wood used for these events. Anything in the Hickory family. Um hum stopping to sharpen the axe or chain saw a quarter way through the cut would add more challenge!! IMO.
Has there ever been a person that thought anyone competing in timbers ports was doing it for the fame and fortune?.... Is it a sport that would grant one fame and fortune?
I need to know how the chainsaws are sharpened and set..... Is it done by hand as you would do when out actually working with a chainsaw? Or is it done by a machine in a well set up workshop? My feeling is this. Two identical chains are given to the competitors and both have been run through exactly the same material to blunt them both equally. Then under working conditions, each competitor must sharpen his chain and cut through the logs as done here..... That will really show who knows their stuff.
I think it's more to keep the saw lubricated when sawing that dry piece of lumber, it would be much tougher to saw it without. Unlikely, I think, but the heat could also bend the saw teeth.
@@tjlovesrachel well yeah it's cumbersome, but he already stated his 460 isn't enough and a 461 is really just a redesign on the 460. Both good saws nevertheless
capella95 ummmm the 460 rancher is a husky saw.... and it’s about 17 cc’s less then ms461 I am speaking of....edit:... and not to mention the husky 460 rancher is not a pro saw like the stihl I’m recommending.....sooooo please elaborate on the 460 rancher stihl makes since you service them at a dealer
I bought one of their pressure washers. It was crap and lost power with each use. They flatly refused to refund me and would only agree to taking it back and I wait for it to be 'repaired' This was in Cornwall, UK Luckily I tried again and a junior member of staff refunded me but then a manager intervened and took my card from her and tried to take my money back. I was able to snatch my card out of the machine before the transaction went through. I won't ever buy one of their products again nor be bullied by sales staff at one of their outlets.
Am I the only one thinking where are their safety goggles? And the one where they stand on top it looks like they only have trainers on! What about their feet?! Hard hats for the camera men down in the pit! 😂🤷🏼♂️
This is great to watch when you’re takin’ a poop. Increases the enjoyment level by 95%

I think they’re just typically better. Like how you only see Hispanics in the MLB or soccer or whites that golf.
My favorite thing in the Lumberjack Competition is the chopping.

Glad to see a sport your no claiming world championships 👍🇦🇺

みんなそうやってるから、それがルールなんだろうけど
チェンソーの種目はチェンソーを手に取ったら、そのまま下らか刃を入れてったら速くね?
wish the narrators would shut the hell up so we can hear the chopping
21:13 shiiiiit, he fell hard and fast
pure boomer aggression for the last of those swings
Wow! That plank climbing chop was the most intense. Very dangerous. Very high outcome of getting injured.

It seems like taking a little bit of extra time to make sure you get three good cuts with the hot saw, is the way to go.

In real life a prof. would never cut like his pants were on fire. Just steady, careful and safe , always the fastest in the long run.

I love how a random woman held up a sign saying “Will trade a husband for a STIHL”. L.O.L

just goes to show that you can take anything to the extreme, still impressive though.
❤️❤️❤️
They build a bolt on kit for the ms170, for the youth comptitions
i bet it smells really good
Das ist alles pappel ich wette da riecht nix gut
Axe sharpining" if i spent a hour spliting rails i always spent 3 hours sharpining my axe" Abraham Lincoln.
I just want some help doing some firewood for a few weekends. Them: “I chop wood in competitions!” Also them: Heats home with LP...
No doubt these are strong ass men. I don’t see the drama that being put into it by the announcers. At least they don’t have a plastic hose bag with fake bags interviewing these men.
that scary moment when the youtube algorithm knows you better than you know yourself...
RAM points, RAM overall pionts?! really?! thats just silly
Question does each openent sharpen his axe, or sharpen his chain. I do.

Where can you buy those axes from?

Jonathan Strange - Rock Oak or Hard Maple would be good options too!

John Deere should start selling chainsaws again
Rusty bow saw would be cool
How embarrassing would it be to lose to a lawyer or doctor and your everyday work is with a chainsaw or chopping wood lol.
Is this Merica?!
Has there ever been a person that thought anyone competing in timbers ports was doing it for the fame and fortune?.... Is it a sport that would grant one fame and fortune?
It seems to me that back in the day the springboard loggers had to. E some of the toughest men on the job.
Where can I buy one of those competition axes?
a ancient barbarian event. now imagine a 4 block run climbing walls and some other stuff. 😇
❤️❤️❤️

they get an entire tribe of starving african kids to lick the chainsaw for weeks on end to get it to an atomic level of sharpness
why do they use coolant on the saws for single buck saws?
I think it's more to keep the saw lubricated when sawing that dry piece of lumber, it would be much tougher to saw it without. Unlikely, I think, but the heat could also bend the saw teeth.
Raro es que no haya un concursante Vasco o Navarro los hubiera superado a todos con diferencia.
This makes me want to put a lip in YEEYEE
Good 👍🥰🎉🎊🇰🇭
I own my second saw in life. It's a 460 Rancher and I really want to buy a pro saw. I need more power. Anyone have a recommendation?
Stihl MS660. I service stihl at a dealer and that Is one seriously badass saw
What do you do cut? What would the new saw do?
capella95 dumb heavy to be realistically used allllll day for most... I would prefer the ms461r.... well I have one
@@tjlovesrachel well yeah it's cumbersome, but he already stated his 460 isn't enough and a 461 is really just a redesign on the 460. Both good saws nevertheless

What are they using for the stock saw ?
Lol the best in the world.... at cutting cookies and axing fire wood in half.
Why do they not use the electric/battery powered chainsaws if everyone says they are so much better?
I bought one of their pressure washers. It was crap and lost power with each use. They flatly refused to refund me and would only agree to taking it back and I wait for it to be 'repaired'
