Laura is a living legend. Her career spans decades. This song is about a romantic relationship that went sour, leaving her broken hearted. It is undoubtedly the best cover of this song there is, way better than even the original. Because Lara Fabian is a master performer in all the languages she sings in. No wonder that Dimash, the current best vocalist on the planet, considers her his idol as he was growing up. She definitely is inspiring the next generation of singers. Too bad not many people in the US are familiar with her.

When you hear about people LITERALLY dying of heartbreak... In the song, she was ill but didn't quite die. This performance is insane! She was so THERE; if you watch the whole thing, it takes her a bit to come out of it and even acknowledge that the audience is even there. AMAZING! 🤩😍

Emma did this song in 2019 for her blind audition on The Voice Kids France. I would like you to watch it and see if her ability to draw on our emotions isn't at least equal to Ms. Fabian's. hi from france. as seen at the beginning of the video it is a cover (original song by serge lama 1973) the story of this song is that his girlfriend had to leave france for professional reasons only returning very little to france. one day he explains the situation to his friend alice dona by saying "it makes me sick" and alice who was at the piano starts "i am sick" which gives serge lama the idea to make a song out of it. he writes the text in 30 minutes (he will say later "given the success she had I am ashamed to have only taken 30 minutes to write this song). and at the start of 2000 lara fabian decides to sing this song

Very interesting that the song is true. I don't think she was holding a grudge with her mother. She was comparing the anguish and despir her mother leaving her at night with the boyfriend leaving her. The emotion and passion in her voice is a God given thing.
