- Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending a heartwarming and lively event in Cape May that marked the beginning of Ukrainian Week and celebrated the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine's restored independence. The festivities kicked off at 3 PM at Elaine's, located at 513 Lafayette Street, where guests were treated to signature cocktails and a special sparkling Art wine from Bakhmut, Ukraine. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as people gathered to enjoy the unique blend of flavors and raise their glasses to a worthy cause.
Just across the street at Rotary Park, the celebrations continued with a feast for the senses. Starting at 4 PM, the renowned chef Dmytro Martsenyuk served up an array of delicious Ukrainian dishes that delighted everyone in attendance.
The smells of borshch and varenyky filled the air, drawing in curious passersby and bringing a taste of Ukraine to Cape May. As we savored the food, Vertex Band took the stage, filling the park with vibrant live music that had everyone tapping their feet and dancing along.
The event was co-hosted by Iryna Mazur, the Honorary Consul of Ukraine from Philadelphia, alongside the charitable organization Cape May Shelters Lutsk, Ukraine. This collaboration has been a beacon of hope and support for the town of Lutsk since the full-scale invasion began.

Good content keep it up
Those look just like pierogi. Guess they call it something in the Ukrainian language. Nice gathering for your wife & her sister.. happy & safe travels
I know this is super way off topic…but how do we rally for the Morey’s to purchase back the Kamikaze from Six Flags Georgia, give it the same retrack treatment they did with the Nor Easter, and reopen Hunts Pier!
First let’s raise money for American Citizens and Veterans that are homeless and in need of care. Once we house, feed and cloth them and if there’s funds left over, then we can take care of whomever you want.
The great thing about this country is that you can do both simultaneously. His wife is Ukrainian so this is very important for him.
That’s not how security works for the U.S. most of the money being used is to rebuild U.S. fortifications and weapons.
With the Biden/Harris administration it’s always AMERICA LAST and that will not change as long as the Democrats are in office….sorry….NOT SORRY!
Thank you for such a good report
Thank you America is supporting freedom!
Ps.
Ukrainian Americans have been gathering in Wildwood Crest since the 1950’s.
@@rcs1937 I stand corrected Ukrainian Americans like my grandparents have been going to wildwood crest since the 1950s and have gathered to sing the national anthem on the beach for Independence Day since 1991.
Hi Joey and Julia, this event was lovely, I’m so glad that there is such support for Ukraine 🇺🇦 I wish you both a very safe trip, are Julia’s parents and extended family still in Ukraine? I hope that they are safe. I grew up in Clifton NJ and in elementary school and junior high there were several Ukrainian families that moved there and one young girl was my childhood friend. They moved away and we lost touch. I’m praying for the strength of the Ukrainians and the eventual successful end of the war for them. It is such a terrible situation. ❤
America First
But we are American first. Do you know how much money the U.S. has made for a war they aren’t in. This is why our economy hasn’t full crashed
America supports Ukraine!
Ukrainian American and proud of it !
Joey just to help you out this subject matter has no interest to me...We are inundated with the world's problems...Wildwood is an escape from it all...That is where you should center the content, as you usually do and do a GREAT job!!...Head down tomorrow for 4 days...Staying at the Gondelier!!...Can't wait!!
That very special Joey I'm glad you and Julia are very happy for you all 😊
Thanks for the feedback, I totally get where you're coming from. Wildwood is definitely an escape, and I’ll keep that in mind when creating content. Enjoy your stay at the Gondolier-sounds like a perfect getaway! Thanks again for your support, and have an amazing time!
Thank you so much! We’re really grateful for the support. It means a lot to both Julia and me!
This was a great video. Thanks for supporting Ukraine.
Ukrainian week has been a wildwood staple for me and my Ukrainian community for over 33 years so ….
Yo Joe buy a shirt
we purchased a few things that day
To those criticizing Joey for this video… 1. It helps a shelter for innocent people in Ukraine affected by the war. 2. It is in Cape May (making it relevant to normal content) 3. Joey’s wife is Ukrainian. I don’t see political content here, as someone in comments said. Bottom line, if you don’t like the video, don’t watch.
I really appreciate your work with your content. I hope to shake your hand sometime.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate the support. It would be great to meet in person one day-looking forward to that handshake!
I support Ukraine, but absolutely despise corrupt Zelenskyy. Closing so many churches
Cringe
Sorry to hear that it didn’t resonate with you. We have family in ukraine fighting for their freedom.
I'll support Russia
Instead of getting political why not do a video something more interesting and wildwood related like the wildwood W tree in wildwood historical society museum
This was not a political video. This was an event that took place and we covered it. We cover all the events down here.
You are going to Ukraine?
yes in a few weeks
You can see how corrupt they are first hand.
