She is so freaking good I feel awful I ignored her talent cause will smith is a goofball. This fuses so many things I love together. Bjork, Mohini Dey, Radiohead, that whole flying lotus/thundercat/knower/snarky puppy vibe, Alice Coltrane, Nina Simone, Tori Amos. She’s so damn talented and on fire right now.
Man. Willow was supposed to open for Billie Eilish back in 2022. Happier Than Ever tour. She pulled out not long before the tour started though. She said “Due to production limitations, I am unable to put on the show that I believe you all deserve. Stay Safe, I love you all and I will see you soon.” Was pretty disappointed. Would’ve loved to have seen her perform.
Mohini Dey is a phenomenal artist and all round human being. I highly recommend you go down a rabbit hole of her work and rich background. I think that with top 40 and Hollywood dying, in general, I think artists should look into other art forms like jazz and Willow is doing exactly that. I think she should go a similar route as, "Esperanza Spalding", and write and perform her own music.
Her album is AOTY if it's recognized or not. Blew me away.
