Hiromi is one of the best musicians of our time. And the JOY!! She is a Japanese National Treasure and a planet Earth treasure!
She is a virtuoso, an improviser and at the same time a brilliant composer.
I saw her live this past week. Not only did she and the rest of her band melt my face off, I had a big smile on my melting face the whole time.
I really understand how you love Hiromi. I went to the Osaka concert at the end of last year, and luckily the venue was an all-standing venue, so I was so happy and excited that I shouted "Hiromi-chan" at the loudest voice I've ever shouted in my life.
(@The Japanese word "chan" means "closest to me" or "adorable" and is used with children.)
She’s amazing! I’ve seen her ensembles but my first solo of her’s! Other worldly! Thank you Wave for rekindling those jazz vibes!

I was blessed to have seen her live twice, once with legendary bassist Stanley Clarke, and again with her trio project including Anthony Jackson and Simon Phillips. Both shows were at The Jazz Kitchen in Indy. When she did the “I’ve Got Rhythm” piece at the Clarke show I was sitting about 6 feet directly in front of her, and I personally heard the way she vocalized while playing. Phenomenal shows both of them.
Thanks Wave! Once she gets into it, she has no clue anyone else is in the auditorium. Falls so deep into it and into her soul! Love her smile and her hair! And I love that there are not very many, if any, people playing at this level in sneakers...lol I'm pretty sure some of those keys are reacting to her many facial expressions!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for showcasing Hiromi once again. I'm not allowed to request but, maybe someday a patron of yours will request Hiromi's arrangement of 'BLACKBIRD'. Beautiful. A wonderful reaction to this fantastic artist. Again, thank you, Wayne.

"I Got Rythm, I Got Music, I Got My Gal, Who Could Ask For Anything More".
I wouldn't be surprised at all if Gacharic Spin's Oreo was inspired by her, their body language while playing is very similar.
This is Hiromi's worst piece. It's just noise. That's from somebody who's been on 4 concerts of Mrs. Uehara.
