- I got to Hersheypark to ride the new for 2023 Wildcat's Revenge. After 5 rides, I'm ready to share my thoughts, what I loved about it and also a few things to hate, as well as my final ranking.

You really didn't like the unbanked double down (jarring moment #1 - the first element after the second wave turn)? For me that was one of the highlights of the ride - the rest of it felt like pretty standard RMC stuff, i.e. ultra elite, but not surprising. But that specific element combined airtime and laterals in a way I had never felt before, and I think it showed some creativity in a layout that-while super good-is pretty paint-by-numbers otherwise.
Yeah i felt it was a buzzkill, instead of getting some sweet airtime it just jerked to the left and into a mild dip before the roll
@@AirtimeThrillsI thought that lateral double down was one of the highlights of the ride, as was the unexpected lateral / slam into the brakes. It ends with such a surprise 😂
In my opinion and i think many others would probably agree, but I actually love those two super jarring hills that you mentioned. They make the second half of the ride feel a lot more out of control and fast paced, especially adding on top that small ejector pop before the break run. Even if they feel a bit uncomfortable, they are mighty wicked and thankfully im the type to actually enjoy it. Especially since they are nothing we've seen on another RMC and only add to the originality factor. This keeps it as a top tier RMC for me, and I might even like that second half better than the first in all honesty
I agree I love the double down with the turn! It gives awesome laterals! It was so weird and out of control I’d start laughing for the rest of the ride!
When the ride is running hot, it seriously seems to get faster in the second half. The helix does seem to be a dead spot but the second half is still *VERY* good!
@@nesmanmain0001 I can’t definitely see why ppl thing the helix is a dead spot. I like It Cuz it showcases the speed and the G rolls got some awesome whip to them!
@@thrillwarrior agreed, I typically find the helix more "dead" in the morning. Once it warms up it definitely feels like a "speed showcase" as you stated!
I have 35 laps so far and I agree that’s a standout moment that catches you off guard your first couple laps.
I'm with you in that I believe the pure airtime hill is the best part of the ride. Wish RMC would use straight airtime more often.
You are absolutely correct about the ops. I have not had one op that has really lowered the bar much at all in my 20-30 rides over a bunch of days. If you ask me, being able to ride this however you want is a massive plus over any other rmc.
And wow, I'm very shocked about your thoughts on the ending. I absolutely love the laterals-whip-airtime of the ending. The first half is cool and drawn out, but that ending is so intense. It leaves you absolutely speechless at the end.
Arieforce ops also let you ride with minimum verify
I was there today and the operations were terrible almost 5 minute dispatch times and that was on all coasters. First time riding it and it's hands down the best coaster I've been on. And on the ride later in the day the ride was so fast I'm no enthusiast but been on a lot of coasters and that was my best imo.
Wildcat's Revenge has to be my favorite ride at Hershey now. I have ridden several times and in different seats but my favorite parts are while sitting in the back. The airtime from the first drop and out of the first wave turn are amazing. Though, I do agree that the end doesnt feel as complete as the first half. But overall it's a great ride and I'm very glad I got season passes to ride this as much as I want this year.
The end does not feel as complete in my mind, only due to that helix. The end does seem to somehow get faster as it goes on which I do truly enjoy!
It’s a terrific addition to the park, pacing is perfect, the 270 underflip reminds me of Untamed, the zero G stall leaves you hanging for jusssssst the right amount of time and the transitions from element to element are buttery smooth although agree with you 💯 on the braid run (I needed one last pop and make it a 50 second ride 😂)! Also, it’s a gorgeous colour scheme, looks like a beauty!!!
WR's addition to Hershey really gives them a stacked lineup. Definitely top 3 in the US.

@@Abcdefgx-u9gLol, *my dude* I think you are mistaken. The lineup is certainly great at both parks, however magic mountains can be a bit redundant. Still think magic mountain has the edge though.

X2 is a rough overhyped experience, and closed more time than not, riddlers is just as bad as any stand up, west coast racers had potential but still sucks, twisted colossus is the worst of hybrid I’ve ever been on, WWFOG is decent but still a mid tier ride, Goliath is a shitty hyper, Superman escape shouldn’t even be compared with either of the other strata’s, and full throttle is.. alright. You can have as many coaster models in one park as you want but if the majority of them are dog shit the park isn’t that good.

Ill be getting to my third RMC in August when i go to Kings Dominion. Im very excited for that. RMC's are on another level. As of right now...

Going to Knoebels tomorrow. The other wooden coaster there is called Twister i think. Buy or Sell: Twister should be RMC's next project.

Something I've noticed about RMC's in general is they need to warm up. Much more so than any other manufacturer in my experience. I'm guessing it's a quirk of the IBox track. My only rides on Wildcats Revenge were after it warmed up But I did notice it was still getting faster through the day.
Also, we should probably talk about those restraints on Skyrush...
True, but wooden coasters definitely need to warm up also
Wildcats revenge is the perfect balance of intensity, without being over the top. It seems to focus on floater airtime more then straight ejector like steel Vengeance. I feel like this ride isn't too out of control for the GP but it was good enough to crack my top 5. I think it's definitely better then twisted timbers.
Also for what it's worth, I get that RMC's feel a lot slower in the morning, but I feel like so do all other rides. I noticed B&M's punch alot weaker in the morning as much if not more than RMC's.

I'm not sure what you mean by focuses more on floater than straight ejector. While SteVe mostly focuses on milder ejector i found Wildcat's Revenge was a lot of very powerful ejector.
My main thing about this ride is that has a very complete layout! It's a perfect mix of airtime and inversions. This ride seems to just get faster as it goes on! I do think that the helix gets a bit boring at the end of the ride. Maybe if they overbanked the helix into a stall briefly, and then came back out of it! (The NESman roll if you will😅) Also, I personally really enjoyed the lateral double down and lateral hill into the brakes, but to each their own, right?
We got on this a few weeks ago and loved it (but both of our rides were either a night ride or an afternoon ride) - very forceful and fantastic in the back. The locker system was great, but as we are prepared 40+ year olds, we knew to wear zipper pockets and bypass the lockers. But we almost got into an argument with a family that tried to hold up the line on the stairs waiting for the rest of their family at the lockers, expecting everyone to wait for them. Their theme park etiquette was horrible, and I couldn't believe they expected everyone to wait for their locker hold up. I made sure it didn't ruin my [excellent] ride and calmly explained that they should have all waited at the locker and not stop the entire line at the top of the stairs. (You can tell I'm still salty over this lol! But only because they acted like we were all in the wrong for walking around them!)
I really liked Wildcat's Revenge, but I absolutely call it a mid teir RMC. I have it 5th of 9 RMCs I have been on which still falls in my top 10 (of 174). Definitely high on the list of PA coasters as well, but I personally liked Phoenix a touch better (they are close for sure). Was absolutely the right call by Hersheypark.
Looks like a great ride! I just can't wait for RMC to finally decide to fix their restraints. That's the only thing keeping their coasters from being world-class to me, especially all the newer ones. Maybe one day they'll figure that out.
They are definitely the worst in the industry.

I actually didn't have any discomfort with wildcat's trains through those airtime hills, unlike skyrush that tries to liberate your torso from your legs lol

I think they do need to be improved. I don’t think they as horrible as some say, it can’t be infinitely accommodating with its forces but the inclusion of the aggressive shin guards makes it much less accommodating than nescessary
@@thedalekditto15 yeah it’s more of an issue where every other manufacturer has figured it out and RMC just doesn’t seem to care to try and improve it.

2:47 I somehow got a ride on twisted with like 4 inches of room one time and was perfectly fine so 1-2 is easily safe (it was probably a dumb idea to keep the 4 inches seeing that's a lot but it was probably my best ride on twisted). I understand why some ppl do it especially if they don't understand what airtime is or are the average employee but it should be part of training not to squish ppl into their seats lol.
Wildcats Revenge looks to be a decent RMC, hopefully i can make it this year
It’s my #2 in Pennsylvania behind Ravine Flyer II and my #6 RMC out of 14 (ironically, right behind Iron Rattler). Definitely a fantastic addition to Hersheypark.

I rode this last year. It was super fun! And I rode just months after it opened, so it was glossy smooth. That zero-G stall was my favorite element.
This comes in at my number 3 overall, and you really need to go on a hot summer day to fully get this ride. The 2 zero g rolls are really whippy

Should get on it this August. Visiting in-laws in PA and my wife has agreed to a detour so I can finally hit this park. A spoonful of sugar does indeed, make the medicine go down. Cannot wait!

Wildcat's Revenge really adds alot to Hersheypark. Hersheypark is my home park and what a park to have as a home park. I figured it was only a matter of time until some park in PA would getan RMC.
It’s my #4 overall coaster, but I’ve only ridden 112 coasters.
Glad you loved my home RMC. I feel like they had a lot of constraints when designing this and did all they could. Upset I didn’t notice you two feet from me in the morning, but I hope to run into you some other time! Can we also get any updated thoughts you have on Candymonium and Storm Runner?
I never got a morning ride on Wildcat’s Revenge, but that was because I was marathoning Storm Runner 5 times in a row, all of them being zen rides

Lol, im watching this for the first time a year later after just having my first ride and its hilarious to find that the 2nd half of this coaster is what really sent it over the top for me, but for you it was lackluster.

Well I rode today and it’s a really fun ride. The locker system is good and it’s well paced. I haven’t thought of the ending being a con but yeah one more hill would make sense. It’s the right addition for the park. Really curious what’s next at Hershey. Maybe you could do a video on that.

I was at the ace event that happened in Hershey park a couple days ago and I got to ride wildcats revenge 13x during an ERT after the park closed. Lemme tell you that shit was wild and it hurts lol. Definitely a step up from Twisted Timbers
Did Pennsylvania pass a law requiring every park in the state to gave a coaster with revenge in the name?
i liked the double down i’ve never felt anything quite like it. also that weird down banking turn before the final hill is more focused on laterals as i was thrown to the left
I haven't been there since Wildcat was opened but it looks fun. Hersheypark is only 2 hours from my house and I'm going back this summer.
U need to come back and reride this tbh. Its almost like it needed a full season to get broken in and boy does it ride amazing now. The back half is now the better half. Hope you give this another shot sometime
Rode it 5 times this weeks and I agree with each pros and cons. Le hill that becomes a left turn was so painful. And it does rides faster later in the day, it was too painful for another ride after that one.

Wildcats revenge is an amazing ride i was there opening day and rode it like 6 times. It definitely makes hershey a top tier park up there witu the best. It was great before but this was a great change.

I hoping to ride it next week as part of my 55 coaster tour of the north east. I'm very excited! It will be my 5th conversion and 6th RMC overall.
From like the first or second time I saw the original render I had a feeling that airtime hill after the first drop would be my favorite part. Glad to have some confirmation that it's great before I go in a couple weeks to ride it. Awesome video as always!
I rode it 13 times this past Saturday while at Hershey's coaster event. This was my 19th RMC. First ride of the morning and 12 night rides during our hour ERT. I came away disappointed with the morning ride. I was much happier with that nighttime ride. First drop is better than expected. I will say I didn't enjoy the first inversion as most. Camelback was very good although I've experienced much better on an RMC. I really thought they did a great job on the stall. The 3rd and 4th inversion were great in the front as the pacing was really good for those nighttime rides. I thought the ride got better on those nighttime rides. The pacing seems to really pick up after the stall. I also like the hills you disliked. They offered a unique airtime and laterals moment you just don't get on other coasters. After thinking about it I have this as my #6 overall RMC out of the 19 I've ridden. It is behind Steel Vengeance, Iron Gwazi, Lightning Rod, Arie Force One, and Twisted Timbers. I have it right ahead of Outlaw Run, Iron Rattler, Storm Chaser, and Twisted Colossus. I will be getting Jersey Devil next weekend and then Untamed in August. I think Untamed has a lot of potential and could crack my Top 5.
I'll be riding it in about a month, and I'm pretty excited. I think it'll be a top 3 in the park. A great addition to the absolutely stacked lineup that Hersheypark has. But I don't know where it'll rank in regards to my overall list. Probably top 50, but idk about top 25. I tend to have very controversial opinions about a lot of RMCs lol
I was there the whole week and it was closed. I left Saturday morning probably right before you got there. Maybe next time I can ride it.

That hill after the underflip was crazy. Train absolutely launched me out of my seat when I rode it a few weeks back.
@Airtime thrills I clocked 7 rides on this beast at cocoacon rode it in the morning needed to warm up and I still loved it rode it several hours later and it was flying that's when I noticed the bad hills but all things considered this ride is awesome
I HAVE to ride this! Iron Rattler is my "Home RMC", lol, but I would love to experience this level of intensity. Iron Rattler is by no means bad, but it's not as crazy as the later ones. Great video as always!
Had Iron Rattler been built today theres a good chance itd be the best RMC in the world considering that plot of land. Id assume itd prob have been a hyper too.

Now I'm curious: what would your Top Ten coasters list look like if you took the whole experience into account? It seems like this ride would be higher than 24, but would it crack the Top Ten list with its 3-car running and locker rules?
it’s a little ironic you called the little bunny hill one of the most forceless, even though it pulls the most -g force in the back row. same thing for the overbank, that pulls 4gs in the back
This was a relentless RMC w obviously fantastic airtime and really snappy transitions at time. I’m sure I’m the only one that prefers front row (after only a few ride) 😂. Another plus of this ride is, compared to ride queues like SV, there are no metal detectors to make the locker and station loading/unloading systems more efficient.
No this is 100% a front row ride. The front row neuters the first drop but makes every other element so much better. I much prefer most RMCs in the back but not this one.
I rode for the first time this week and definitely got stapled in a couple times. It took a lot of enjoyment out of the experience for me to the point I couldn’t keep riding. Otherwise, it was great.
I rode Wildcat's Revenge 4x on July 7th 2023. We did front & back row. Back row was 12:30pm and was great. Front row 8:45pm was epic! It seemed faster on the night ride. WR was my 3rd RMC (Steel Vengeance & Goliath @SFGA). IMO WR is in between the two, w/ SV taking top spot.
This ride looks like a top 50. Storm Chaser is my number two coaster so will have to ride eildcat to compare
I got a ride on WR after a rainstorm, but its still the best ride at Hershey. My favorite coaster in PA (haven't been to Kennywood yet) is Steel Force. Steel Force back row ride blew my mind, its a better version of Magnum IMO and until Steel Vengeance came out Magnum was my favorite coaster.

Probably won't get up to Hershey this year but maybe next year. It stings because all these RMC coasters being built is making it mighty difficult to get on all of them. I used to be able to boast that I have been on all of them in the US. Now I haven't been on the one at Silverwood and this one!

Got my first ride in today. Going back in a couple of weeks with fast track. KD is my closed park, HP is just 40 min further. But personally I thought twisted timbers was better. Those 3 lil hills are just perfect. However i do appreciate the sudden break check on wild cat. Compared to the god awful bunny hops on TT. But I’ll have a better opinion in a few weeks.
Thanks for all your hard work. Going to be heading to Orlando in January and I before I wouldnt but im probably going to head to seaworld and Bush Gardens for a few days assuming that Mako and Iron Gwazi arnt schedule to be down. Secondly agreed the lap bar makes such a difference. I had one of my wildest ever rides when I was on Ghostrider even just in the morning becuase it was less pushed down I got the ranking that day. Less pushed down lap bars can make even more family orientated rides like Big Thunder seem a lot more intense. Also yes i agree on lockers. and zippers. Let people have proper zippers and bum bags not be descriminated against/ but if not compromise on free lockers I think the VelociCoaster was probably the best comprimise on that keeping your phones until close to the ride then easy safe access when you get off.
Yeah WcR and Twisted timbers and steel vengeance are also good about letting you keep your phone til the very end of your wait. Not a bad compromise

As someone who was at the park when you were and someone who rides it all the time I can say without a doubt the day you got your rides it was not running as fast as it does on sunny hot days and it always runs better after 5:30 so considering all that I respect your views in this video because you didn’t ride it while it’s hauling yet. It was a cloudy rainy day
It was cloudy but extremely hot and humid. Not sure if that matters if the sun isnt really out
@@AirtimeThrills Yea it’s a huge difference on sunny days. The track is warmer when it’s in the sun and wood flexes more when it’s moist
Riding an RMC in the opening year hits different
I agree that the Camelback is possibly the best and my favorite element. I do however like the weird lateral turn after the 2nd wave turn HOWEVER, the brake entrance is so janky. The guy in front of me was halfway out his chair at the end and had crazy whiplash.

I loved the aggressive lateral moments on this ride you also need to get a night ride on it
The night ride is incredible. Candymonium also gives amazing night rides.

My second favorite only behind skyrush
I personally like this ride more than Steel Vengeance. Definitely agree it’s the best in the park. Skyrush is still up there. I heard alot of people like this more than Gwazi, but there are alot that don’t. It’s all a matter of opinion really. People just have to ride it for themselves.
There’s nothing to hate. Ride the front row; it’s amazing! It’s great in any row but the front row comes alive in the 2nd half of the ride.
I’ve only had 1 ride that wasn’t in the front or back row. WR was a top 10 on my 1st ride (in the last row) and it’s only gotten higher after many rides in the 1st row.
Lightning Rod is fun, Iron Gwazi is okay (I only marathoned in the morning) and Steel Vengence is sooooo overrated. (I only got 1 ride after closing, after waiting almost an hour in line.)
I rode Wildcat’s Revenge on opening day, Pantheon for the 1st time the next day and Twisted Timbers for my 3rd visit the following day. I love Twisted Timbers, but Wildcat’s Revenge blew Twisted Timbers out of the water. Btw, Pantheon was terrible. Rollbacks are earned. Pantheon is a participation trophy coaster!!

I always bring shorts or pants with zippers after my phone fell off a kiddie ride and the operator wouldn’t get it

Wildcats revenge looks tall in the videos but it looks shorter in real life. It’s sorta like kingda ka looks small in videos but is big in real life so it’s the opposite of the kingda ka sentence
From someone who hasn't ridden it yet, the worst part (besides RMC's godawful restraints) is the fact that they got rid of the dying seal noise on the brake run.

I feel like they could have done more with the unbanked hill. Could of done an off axis airtime hill or something
I appreciate the comprehensive review! When I watched the POV I felt like the two awkward elements you mentioned stood out months ago, when the layout was revealed. They both feel like elements made in Planet Coaster using the autocomplete tool, more than a refined addition to the overall ride. I do personally prefer Phantom's Revenge over a mid-tier RMC. I think the RMC I-Box is the best model coaster out there, only being really contended by a B&M Giga (let's overlook the recent news on that front though.) That Morgan Hyper conversion does feel like such an anomaly though, from its unique history and the story behind its modern iteration, as well as the quirky terrain-reliant layout. For as good as an RMC is, it would have to be a standout among its own peers for me to consider it a better ride than Phantom. But again, personal preference. Appreciate the content, as always!

My son and I said iron Gwazi gets mad toward the end of the day and tries to rip you in half. It’s amazing how different it is in the morning vs afternoon.

@@AirtimeThrillsI really do not get this take. I recently went to Busch Gardens Tampa and rode Iron Gwazi in the morning, early afternoon and evening. All 3 rides were very similar. Incredibly fast paced, wild and absolutely breathtaking. In the morning you think it’s mild?! That just sounds like some contrarian nonsense to me :)

To make the most of your day do not do candymonium or wildcats revenge first. It may be tempting but both of lines in the 3 to 5 o’clock range on most days have very short lines. Don’t trust the app for wait times either it’s never accurate. I go a few times a week so there’s a couple tips

Honestly after 8 rides I can’t agree with you at all about the end of the ride those last two zero g rolls have insanely whip and those last pops of air time are crazy
