@@DudeitsMalia Wicked was one of my first west end obsessions. You can add to that Hairspray and Sweeney Todd, but recently the original cast recording of Into The Woods has been the thing for me. The whole recording is on TH-cam and I cannot tell you how many times I've seen it, I even know the speaking parts of it by heart and its something like 3 hours long. If you havent seen it I just couldnt recommend it enough
@ into the woods is my #1 favorite forever. My sister and I used to sing every line of “well its your fault” To have recorded original broadway casts is the worlds greatest gift
Honestly I don’t think it’s the biggest brand and I wasn’t that interested in trying it but after getting a couple lip glosses I actually really like the collection. I got the entire new collection for wicked just bc I thought they were different. Everything is honestly amazing I love the eyeshadow and they had a black lipstick that is ph changing that is like black honey but better. Honestly my favorite lip ever I wish it wasn’t limited. Finally I like the sparkly eyeliners I have the silver but want the blue + white it’s amazing. I hate to say but it’s quickly become my new favorite and hope it doesn’t collapse.
TLDR I think her products are great and unique. Especially in person the products really do pop and look exceptionally pretty. Didn’t think I would be such a fan of her stuff but I haven’t tried anything I do like even though I did find it underwhelming at first
The products themselves dont get bad reviews at alll, its likely why her financial anaylysts okayed her taking the brand from morphe, but I think if the brand want to keep longer than her personal fame they just need a small tweak to make it stand apart from grande herslef
It was dead a long time ago, she needs to stop selling makeups and start listening to what we arianators want like girl we don’t want ur makeup we need new music release, THE TOURRRR 😫
Ugh! I hate the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer look on the tip of the nose through highlighter Ariana’s wearing at 10:00. It’s even worse here because she only seems to have highlighter on the tip of her nose and nowhere else on her face.
When I think of Ariana Grande I dont think of make up. Maybe she should have created a hair care line instead? She is literally recognized for her bright red hair and later high pony tail.
If she was trying to rebrand now she could even say something like "going back to her roots"? To allude to a change in her. After what happened with Ethan Slater and his wife/new born baby I feel like a lot of people dislike her and lost respect (including myself).
Hair is far far harder to profit from though, I think thats why she hasnt bothered with that route. Honestly, I think they wouldve had a longer brand if they had just decided on making a brand totally apart from her celebrity, giving it a marketable dofferentiator and just had her as the ‘secret’ owner of the company
The consensus seems to be that the products are just okay, which I think makes sense for the kind of brand theyre going for, but I do think they’d find more longevity if it was irreplaceable
i do believe these videos are right about the future of the brand however it makes me sad to see ppl think the products are bad. the foundation is rather nice, i love the red blush stick, the mint highlighter, the gogo boots eyeshadow palette, the lip oils and glosses are also rather nice. i think it just came out at a time where other products were getting more attention so nobody really purchased and tried the brand. i think to save the brand, they should turn it into a drug store one with cheaper prices so people actually consider picking up the products
The products arent bad, youre right, its just theres so much good product on shelves these days that they need more to stand out. But also, if they dont have more, people assume itd bad when its not, I think max factor gets caught in that too
@@underskinYT i have tried some and their quality is not worth that price maybe in the US it is but where I live it's considered expensive and the packaging while cute gives cheap
the perfumes sold well because they appealed beyond her fanbase. they were very cute and girly, smelled good. and were a perfect "tween/teen" first adult perfume splurge and or an easy christmas gift for an teen girl. the makeup line fit more in with drug store brands and didn't stand out the same.
ngl i was so excited for rem beauty but it ended up being so disspointing i don't know quality does not match price at all and it's been a little lackluster
Hey I'm a guy who doesn't use makeup- can someone explain to me why being "good but nothing groundbreaking" bad for makeup? Don't they all use the same formulas for stuff?? What else is there to really improve upon ?? Just curious
Good but nothing groundbreaking is the same for any product really. Why would you buy anything doesn’t differentiate in some way. Could be the formula, could be price, could be promotion. If theres an almost-exact alternative, why bother risking trying a new product? If you think about your trips to the supermarket, imagine you could taste all the cookies in store before you bought them, what would make you buy one bag of cookies over the other? Price, packaging, recipe? Same with make-up, except it’s a far more saturated (and competitive) market. So, if theres another celebrity brand with the same price, similar colours, similar recipe (yes formulas do differ that much, but it usually affects price a lot), why would anyone bother buying the new one?
So I know that your videos mainly focus on beauty brands, but I feel like an interesting topic to delve into would be the ignorance on olive skintones in the beauty industry. I know the beauty industry still has a difficult time with inclusivity generally, but olive undertones are consistently ignored (so us green people have to contend with either looking too pink or orange 😂) . Only in the last few years have a few brands (like Fenty and Rare Beauty) started putting out olive base products, but it's still severly lacking.
is rem beauty not one of the top performing celeb makeup lines? i thought it might’ve been a flop too but idk i see things sold out and some items being used and the instagram is active as hell. even sabrina carpenter mua uses rem. i heard some products are outstanding and others are just ok.
I was so excited for her brand and bought like 3 lipsticks, and the price wasn’t exactly great for the quality of the lipstick. It got in my teeth and also dried out my lips. I also bought her highlighter because I thought it was beautiful, I use it and it doesn’t really do much. Unlike the rare beauty highlighter which actually was stunning on my skin. Honestly REM beauty, was a waste of my money and I lowkey feel like I was sold a lie. Her perfumes are great tho!
She is known for a ponytail, but idk I think thatd be a hard sell too tbh. I think ghey couldve done numbers with hair charms when she was in thag phase but its a bit late now
hey could you do a video on how one should go about establishing a good marketing presence, and maintaining it on a personal and professional brand level xx
I think a good example of that is my Body Shop video, how they curated their point of difference, and also my Haus Labs video as I analyse why one iteration didnt work and why one did
When I saw that she was coming out with a makeup brand, the first thing I thought was "this is the most blatant cash grab I've ever seen". It was so obvious after Rihanna came out with Fenty and then Selena having success with Rare Beauty
I like the ethereal and cosmic marketing and concept of her makeup. But damn was it so cheap. I worked at Ulta and I couldn’t believe how bad quality it was. It felt like those fake gel makeup kits that we would have as kids.
Oh that’s so interesting, I knew it was never the best quality make up, but I always heard it was just kind of mid, which I felt went very much with the direction of the brand at least, even if it is a bit overpriced
I think the biggest problem is the marketing. I didnt even know it was a Ariana brand when i first started seeing it. Because of the name i thought it was one of those brands. That our grandma wear. Similar to Mary kay. But when i did find out if was her brand. It seemed more like a cash grab. Loke after the success riri, kylie, and selena came out with their brands. Its seems like everybody starting doing it. The difference is they seem gunine about thair brands. With ariana it seems like a cash granlb
Well tbf, neither kylie, rihanna not selina came up with the ideas for their brands either, theyre all faces of brands that were preplanned too. Ive done videos aabout all of them actually
No no not at all, not yet. What I tried to explain at the end is that the brand seems to be happy in its celebrity brand lane, not really pushing for a brand with longevity, but happy to make some coin today. And though its a bit of a shame that its not going to be around forever, its refreshing to see a celebrity line that so clearly knows what its trying to do/be
@ yes and no. not a lot of celeb brands lately tho. like fenty, haus labs, rare beauty, even rhode are all their own brands, makeup and formulas. rem is one of the only big celeb brands as of late that is owned and formulated under an already established brand.
Oh everything falls eventually. The channel cannot go on forever just as rem cant and even disney cant. Its just about identifying points of weakness and discussing them
Cut the bs. Ariana Grande's makeup empire is unstoppable, fueled by her devoted fanbase and top-tier products. New drops tied to Wicked are coming and haters can't handle it. As someone who's tried Chanel and more, Ari's lipsticks reign supreme. Her sold-out collections speak volumes, her innovative collabs break boundaries, and her loyal fans know quality. If you a hater, just say that
The thing is, I’m not a hater, I’m a very big fan of hers, but my enjoyment of her as a celebrity should not be a factor in whether I think that brand has longevity or not. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the brand being based on her celebrity directly, but it’s clear that they don’t expect the brand to last longer than that, which too is fine, they seem to acknowledge it well and are under no false image of themselves
Somebody else said it as well. I don’t personally believe it as much as I do for another celebrity beauty brand, or any celebrity brand tied to a charity, but you know you can never really tell until its obvious. In either direction its purely about money, but then I suppose everything is 🤷
Im not trashing it at all. I dont think its a bad brand, but it doesnt have longevity and its clear thats planned. In a way its refreshing to have a celeb line that knows exactly what it is
The brand looked gimmicky and low quality since the beginning. It's been underwhelming through and through. Also you can't feel the same representation and passion you get from other celebrity brands like Fenty or Rare.
i’m gonna have to strongly disagree, i love all her products so much!!! they’re an everyday for me. and i think that now she took back her power and isn’t associated with Morphe anymore they’re drastically improving. the standouts in my opinion is the Glossy Balms, Liquid Eyeshadow, Lip Glosses, Foundation, and the On Your Collor Lipsticks!
For now the brand is okay. A ceelbrity brand that acts as one isnt inherently bad at all, esp nowadays when decent make up is so easy to formulate and produce. But it needs a better point of difference if it intends to last longer than her personal fame
@@underskinYTit’s also important to note that she stopped everything she was doing in her career to prepare for & be in the Wicked movie ….. i feel like now she can really focus on improving this brand. the Wicked Collection is so good, i only see the brand improving as time goes on.
rem beauty is a beautiful makeup line that might not be for everyone but that doesn't mean its a flop. I use a few rem beauty products daily (I love love the lip products), the quality is amazing. regarding people not being able to see ariana in a makeup brand...... you seriously live in a cave if you don't think of eyeliner and ponytails when you think of ariana. ariana is known for her beauty and many eyeliner looks so.... REM BEAUTY MAKES SENSE. as a ariana fan for over 10 years, I could absolutely see ariana in this brand and ariana has always loved creating products hence her extensive line of perfumes so rem beauty was another creating experimentation/business that she wanted to do. the products do hold up (people need to stop hating on brands or products when they haven't tried a variety of the products for a long amount of time) but obviously beauty and beauty products are different for everyone. just because rem beauty doesn't suit someones style, skin type or comfort does not mean that its a flop or a bad brand. I think rem beauty will continue to do very well for a very very long time.
I think your comment really proves my point. Its a fine brand meant to be made for fans. Would a non-fan become this attached? Probably not. But is it good enough to provide decent products to those that do like her? Absoluely! It seems to know its lane and enjoys being there, theres nothingwrong with that at all; it just doesnt have longevity. Do all brands need to be forever? Maybe not, and it is at least refreshing to have a brand try to be nothing but what it is

It is, but that is what it was designed to be for sure. They clearly know it too
I don’t play games, but I do love watching ( listen at work ) your videos !!
Thank u !
Is very therapeutic listening!!
So many people listen to my videos instead of watching and that makes me so happy to know that the information is so rich it doesnt need a visual 🥰
loving the wicked references 😂 so subtle but so good
Wickedness must be punished!!!! 😂
Your voice is so calming with that background music you're using and I darn nearly slept.
You sleep to nails on chalkboard? Wow youre one kind sleeper 😂😂
@underskinYT I didn't say I slept I just said her voice is relaxing and calming I almost slept. Like she has a calm voice.
Anyways, yeah I'm one kind of sleeper as you've said. Maybe I was tired when watching this video. I still got what she was saying.
I was only kidding 😅 I guess noone likes hearing their own voice so my joke was about that 🤍 I am very flattered you enjoy my voice though 🤍
Wow. The wicked reference of “you’re perfect you’re perfect so we’re perfect together.” That was excellent. 5:52
Born to be foreverrrr dancing through life. (Low key apart from Michelle Yeoh’s song, I was most disappointed by that one. The guy sings *okay*, but I was expecting him to be like Jonathan Groff good because I had never heard of him. He was heavily autotuned and honestly I feel like I could have done better. But then Im a horrible actor and he was very good in that department so 🤷)
@ even after this comment I caught two more. Happy to have found someone that is equally interested in wicked, AND fashion/makeup business as I am. Love your work! 🧙
My sister and I used to sing every line of “well its your fault”
To have recorded original broadway casts is the worlds greatest gift
Her foundations are actually really good
Im sure theyre not bad, but how different can they be?
rembeauty is the 3rd best selling beauty brand of 2024 😭
I think itll do well in 2025 too, shes really at the height of her fame
Wicked tour 2026 😂
Ugh! I hate the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer look on the tip of the nose through highlighter Ariana’s wearing at 10:00. It’s even worse here because she only seems to have highlighter on the tip of her nose and nowhere else on her face.
Hahahahah its the trend 😂
Two videos on one day?! We are well fed! Lemme go make some noodles to enjoy with this
And both sponsored too!!! Very very happy 🥰🥰
@underskinYT 🫶🏻
Side note not sure why wicked needs to be 2 parts
not going to completely spoil it but think of dorothy in oz
@@1remirashit they going all out???
one of the highest quality brands ever. not going to even try to lie.
you're everywhere omg
@ yuh yuh.
But also, if they dont have more, people assume itd bad when its not, I think max factor gets caught in that too
@@underskinYT i have tried some and their quality is not worth that price maybe in the US it is but where I live it's considered expensive and the packaging while cute gives cheap
i feel like they need a whole rebrand, something that actually sets them apart from the rest
A good pov for sure wiuld help
the perfumes sold well because they appealed beyond her fanbase. they were very cute and girly, smelled good. and were a perfect "tween/teen" first adult perfume splurge and or an easy christmas gift for an teen girl. the makeup line fit more in with drug store brands and didn't stand out the same.
It was definitely aimed at a younger audience, for sure. But since she has switched up to an older audience Im sure theyd like them rebottled 😂
She need to just launch in Asia’s Sephora they only release it in Europe
Sephora isnt doing that well in Asia atm, they just pulled out of Korea
@@underskinYTJapan too!
Can we have a video on summer Fridays? They’ve been at the top of their game recently
Hmmm maybe, Ive been wanting an exaple of trend following
ngl i was so excited for rem beauty but it ended up being so disspointing i don't know quality does not match price at all and it's been a little lackluster
I think thw products are fine its just they arent special or unique at all
Tbh ALL of the wicked collabs for all brands doing it are just pink and green! so i cant blame her.
But thats the point, it couldve been anyone
@@underskinYT you are right!
5:44 okay dancing through life wicked reference love
Theres too many isnt there, I cut out like three other lyric references 😂😂
Oooooooh new upload let’s goooooo
the wicked references throughout 💚💚
💖💚
So I know that your videos mainly focus on beauty brands, but I feel like an interesting topic to delve into would be the ignorance on olive skintones in the beauty industry. I know the beauty industry still has a difficult time with inclusivity generally, but olive undertones are consistently ignored (so us green people have to contend with either looking too pink or orange 😂) . Only in the last few years have a few brands (like Fenty and Rare Beauty) started putting out olive base products, but it's still severly lacking.
Have you tried MAC? Its quite full coverage but they have different bases for all their colours, their system is brilliant actually
Love that not-so-subtle hint to the Dancing Through Life lyrics💖💖
Mindless and careless 🥲 Make sure youre where less trouble is rife 💚💖
is rem beauty not one of the top performing celeb makeup lines? i thought it might’ve been a flop too but idk i see things sold out and some items being used and the instagram is active as hell. even sabrina carpenter mua uses rem. i heard some products are outstanding and others are just ok.
I think so yes, it seems to be doing well, but the video ending isnt about where they are *now* but about the lasting potential of the brand
@ yes super interesting i’d like to see where it goes and their potential
@@user-fe8uq9zp2gas far as I know… it’s not that successful. Not nearly as close to Rare or Fenty or Haus Labs
@@underskinYT that remains to be seen tbh
Girl does not care about that ad 😭
Its giving blackpink talking about that car
I was so excited for her brand and bought like 3 lipsticks, and the price wasn’t exactly great for the quality of the lipstick. It got in my teeth and also dried out my lips. I also bought her highlighter because I thought it was beautiful, I use it and it doesn’t really do much. Unlike the rare beauty highlighter which actually was stunning on my skin.
Honestly REM beauty, was a waste of my money and I lowkey feel like I was sold a lie. Her perfumes are great tho!
Different goals for the two companies for sure, but I have to disagree about the perfumes, just too sweet for me, though I do like the packaging
Those wicked palletes remind me of odens eye palletes
Yeah I get that
I think a hair care line would have made more sense, since that’s a bigger thing she’s known for
She is known for a ponytail, but idk I think thatd be a hard sell too tbh. I think ghey couldve done numbers with hair charms when she was in thag phase but its a bit late now
Self tanner would have done well 😂
loved the video !! also loved the wicked references, i was wondering if i was going crazy or if it was on purpose 😭😭
Are people born referencing? Or do they have referencing thrust upon the? After all, she had a father, she had a mother as so many do
how is it a fall when it’s the 3rd best selling beauty brand of 2024…?
I did say I think itll be a while, she has a great fanbase (which I am a part of)
You have such a soothing voice I love listening to you speak!
Thank you 🥰🥰
hey could you do a video on how one should go about establishing a good marketing presence, and maintaining it on a personal and professional brand level xx
At least with this one, it’s very obvious that they know that it is a cash grab
Hybe is everywhere my god
I mean, it’s an incredible company, it really changed the game of Korean music
Thank you for your video! As a marketer myself, your analysis is delicious ❤️
Glad to be of service 🥰
I like the ethereal and cosmic marketing and concept of her makeup. But damn was it so cheap. I worked at Ulta and I couldn’t believe how bad quality it was. It felt like those fake gel makeup kits that we would have as kids.
Oh that’s so interesting, I knew it was never the best quality make up, but I always heard it was just kind of mid, which I felt went very much with the direction of the brand at least, even if it is a bit overpriced
5:44 the dancing through life reference ahhhh
Thoughtless and careless 🤍
her brand is actually really, really good. the concealers and lip products specifically
Sure, but are they good enough that a non-fan would choose them over competitors?
@ the aesthetic alone is pretty cool since there aren’t many space/movie promotions in the makeup-skincare world. i just think it’s cute
@@underskinYT why are you challenging every rem beauty positive comment 😭
Im not meaning this as a challenge but as a question about quality vs perceived quality
I do absolutely love her foundation and concealer. But her brand truly is dependent on ari herself
Its not bad product, but it couldve been a lot cheaper without her face for sure
HYBE and Scooter Braun behind this too? oh no
They are an investor in the company, yeah
The lip products are good but nothing to ride home about
Quality isnt their differentiator yeah
I feel like flower knows would have a better wicked inspired palette.
Any brand with a strong aesthetic differentiator couldve added something to it imo
i was at the macys herald square drop and got a meet and greet ticket 😭
Nooooo
woah i didnt know rem beauty is disliked 😭😭 i love their lip stuff and the eyeshadow palettes
I don’t know if it is disliked yet, but it’s not unique or special to the market
Can you please do an analysis on Rose Inc??
Noted thank you 🤍
I love every rem beauty product I own🤷♀️
Thats great! Not trying to yuck your yum at all 🤍
I did not expect Hybe to appear in this vid
They are everywhere 😂😂
could you please make a video on downfall of jaclyn hills beauty , jewelry and lounge brand ?!
Oh its very much in the works
What do you mean fall, is she discontinuing the company?
No no not at all, not yet. What I tried to explain at the end is that the brand seems to be happy in its celebrity brand lane, not really pushing for a brand with longevity, but happy to make some coin today. And though its a bit of a shame that its not going to be around forever, its refreshing to see a celebrity line that so clearly knows what its trying to do/be
@underskinYT oh ok thank you so much for your answer ♡ I didn't have time to watch but got worried it was shutting down
In that case, when you have time to watch it, I hope you enjoy
??? Her make up brand did not fall. Its doing pretty well

Id love to actually, next video will be max factor biography though 🥰
@@underskinYT Soooo excited to watch it!!
it’s literally just morphe makeup but repacked and processed gouged for ari
Thats a lot of makeup these days tbf. Branding really does a lot of the leg work
@ yes and no. not a lot of celeb brands lately tho. like fenty, haus labs, rare beauty, even rhode are all their own brands, makeup and formulas. rem is one of the only big celeb brands as of late that is owned and formulated under an already established brand.
here yall go...
Did you even watch the whole video ? Its not a hate piece it's a breakdown video
omg can yall please stop mentioning queen for views
Its a king now, the queen died a while back
Queen? Youre talking about the band queen or the former
Queen of England ?
The inedible fall of underskinYT
Oh everything falls eventually. The channel cannot go on forever just as rem cant and even disney cant. Its just about identifying points of weakness and discussing them
meanie
rem its selling amazing numbers
For now, yeah. But thats what I said
I think the promotion was very cringe from the start and to me the products look like toy makeup for little girls
Maybe thats exactly what it is, aimed for a very uoung audience
Makes me think, it's just a money laundry front?
Somebody else said it as well. I don’t personally believe it as much as I do for another celebrity beauty brand, or any celebrity brand tied to a charity, but you know you can never really tell until its obvious. In either direction its purely about money, but then I suppose everything is 🤷
rem beauty is so slept on, i use a few of her products and people always love the packaging. its too bad its flopping
Oh financially its doing quite well, the products are fine, itll do well for a while until the celebrity factor wears thin
did she even advertise that brand anymore?
I don’t think she does proper adverts at all really, just social media
I guess if you can't make your own success just trash another yeah?
Im not trashing it at all. I dont think its a bad brand, but it doesnt have longevity and its clear thats planned. In a way its refreshing to have a celeb line that knows exactly what it is
Great video
Thank you! 😊
The brand looked gimmicky and low quality since the beginning. It's been underwhelming through and through. Also you can't feel the same representation and passion you get from other celebrity brands like Fenty or Rare.
YeH I agree tbb
Oh wow I should not type when tired 😂
i’m gonna have to strongly disagree, i love all her products so much!!! they’re an everyday for me. and i think that now she took back her power and isn’t associated with Morphe anymore they’re drastically improving.
the standouts in my opinion is the Glossy Balms, Liquid Eyeshadow, Lip Glosses, Foundation, and the On Your Collor Lipsticks!
For now the brand is okay. A ceelbrity brand that acts as one isnt inherently bad at all, esp nowadays when decent make up is so easy to formulate and produce. But it needs a better point of difference if it intends to last longer than her personal fame
@@underskinYTit’s also important to note that she stopped everything she was doing in her career to prepare for & be in the Wicked movie …..
i feel like now she can really focus on improving this brand. the Wicked Collection is so good, i only see the brand improving as time goes on.
am i the only one catching the wicked references?
Together we’re unlimited
rem beauty is a beautiful makeup line that might not be for everyone but that doesn't mean its a flop.
Maybe not, and it is at least refreshing to have a brand try to be nothing but what it is
i''m sorry but the price is not that affordable, rem prices are higher than rare beauty's and their quality is not that good
It’s affordable, but whether that is still worth it it’s the question
