- In this video I discuss if I think the fire emblem 4 remake is real or not, going over the various fire emblem leaks we've had about it so far and my thoughts on if genealogy of the holy war remake is actually going to happen or not.

To add some fuel to the rumor fire, the first initial "leak" for Engage didn't come from Miasmadelta or Emily Rogers. It was actually 'NateTheHate', who is his Nintendo predictions podcast in January of 2022, talked about the next mainline entry having a protagonist with blue and red hair. This was five months prior to both emily rogers and the screenshots leaker.
In February of 2022, NateTheHate posted a video with a thumbnail of marth with blue and red hair, and in there claimed and FE4 Remake was also in the works, and was looking to be coming out after the next mainline entry.
Emily Rogers then, herself, in June, stated Nates information was good. Actually, most of the stuff he's said is coming out has, like Metroid Dread, and Metroid Prime Remastered, which he even said was more akin to a remake from what he had heard. About two years before the reveal last year.
Also, I find that the wording of Miasmadelta is often overlooked. He wrote in verbatim - "Additionally, the rumors of an FE4 remake are real as well. Gust has helped a lot with this development - if you aren't familiar with their work, you should take a look at the Atelier games on the Switch."
This wording could allude to the FE4 Remake being the game that's being helped with Gust.
But that would mean a Koei Tecmo/Intelligent Systems collab again, right?
Toshiyuki Kusakihara, a director for Echoes amd the lead director for the most successful FE to date, Three Houses, was completely absent from Engage. He shows up in the "Special Thanks" segment of Engages credits. This means he was not at all involved with Engage over it''s years in Development. He's been directly involved at a senior level with every FE since Awakening. And given his wild success with Three Houses - it's very odd that he's absent.
So where is he?
His last credit was as a supervisory role for Three Hopes at Koei Tecmo. Just to put this into context - this is one of the most hands free roles in the gaming industry, and could easily be performed by many other employees at IS.
That, and the Koei Tecmo building is miles from where Toshiyuki Kusakihara typically commutes.
The fact that Toshiyuki Kusakihara was not at all involed with Engage, and that he took on a gig that could very well be performed as an easy second job, leads me to believe he's the lead director of the next game, and possibly working with Koei Tecmo on it.
Of course, it could just be a new game and not the rumored FE4 Remake.
That said, Toshiyuki Kusakihara is a major FE4 fan. So if anybody were to develop a potential Remake it would likely be him.
Thats a very interesting insight, you're most probably on to something there. I have no doubts that there is or was some other fire emblem game in the works. It's just whether it's fe4 or not that I'm dubious about
Without a doubt in my mind, this is 100% true. That man LOVES FE4(classics in general bc echoes is def the best classic game). Three Houses was basically a massive loveletter to Geneaology, and I am so happy he made the most successful game leading to letting him make that FE4 remake. Dude has been working hard on FE4, he didn't need to waste time on engage.

I used to believe in it but now I believe that the person that leaked engage saw Emblem Sigurd on the paralogue map and thought it was an fe4 remake.
It makes sense, the Emblems look like ghosts and the map they picked for the FE4 Paralogue was chapter 10, which does in fact feature a ghost Sigurd in an event.
Nintendo wants us to be surprised and never do the obvious. I wasn’t surprised at all because we just had TTYDR from IS so expect to hear the news in September.

I didn’t really pay attention to Engage, but from what I saw, Emblem Sigurd appeared to have the most story significance after Emblem Marth. Like when Emblem Marth is out of commission for like 10 chapters, Emblem Sigurd becomes the lead Emblem in the story. I find that to be a bit weird since they could have picked a more popular lord to pick up the slack in Marth’s absence, and yet they chose Sigurd. It makes me feel like they wanted players to care about Sigurd enough to then want to play his game (via an FE4 remake).
I still have faith it’s happening, but who knows at this point lol

I had a friend back in the day who was telling me about rumours for an FE4 remake less than a year after Echoes came out. This has been going on a lawwnnnggg time dawg.
My thoughts: When it comes to FE4 I think its more a question of “when will it come?” vs. “is it coming?”
There are just too many things pointing to it. Besides the leak, which does have some credence to it, it would naturally follow in line with the order of remakes we’ve had before. So far we’ve only had remakes for 1/2/3. With the reputation 4 holds I can’t see a localized version not being on their radar. Also we just got a anniversary game that features all of the main protagonists. Its not a certain fact but this also could have been done to refamiliaze us with older heroes, such as those who have only been featured in Japan.
I’m willing to hold out hope till we get the new release on the Switch 2, but I will say theres definite need for some news in the community.

It's really hard not to be upset. Ever since I first played FE4 while reading the oosawa manga of it while playing FE4 became my favorite game, favorite story, and favorite cast in terms of games and fiction. Hearing the prospect of a remake of it after the beautiful treatment Shadows of Valentia got made me ecstatic. Seven years of hoping and waiting... and then hearing this possibility of the a confusion with Engage Sigurd. Such a believable explanation is crushing.
Seriously FE4 your favorite game, story and characters in fiction lmao. I heavily recommend playing more games and reading other series. FE4 is not that damn good. The vast majority of characters don’t even have real screen time either. The way the game delivers the story of its events is horrible. You get better depth and loire from people on Redit explaining the story than the freaking game and manga. FE4 is the best written FE game however compared to other JRPG games it is below average in writing with terrible pacing and next to no explicit explanations to the turn of events in the game.
@@ZackSNetwork Hey, c'mon, let the guy like what he likes. I also disagree with the idea FE is badly written; I think the problem is the format of each game being in such a gameplay-centric loop, but what FE always had as an advantage over almost every other SRPG is its weight in characters and relationship building. The true strength of each FE's story comes through the characters, and I think IntSys was smart to realize that with the Support System. Not everyone plays FE for the gameplay.
Plus, I'd be a hypocrite to judge him for it given my second favorite FE story is Conquest, of all things. Everyone can have a variety of ways to read a certain way, as there's no real "wrong" way to enjoy a story as long as you're sticking to canon, but one should always remember that one's own individual appreciations aren't the default and we should always embrace a diversity of opinions when it comes to personal favorites.
I'd like to add too that Nintendo didn't help themselves in dispelling rumour by featuring sigurd so heavily in the reveal trailer [For Engage] which may have given people the completely wrong idea. I'll never stop believing tho.

Person who leaked stuff just could be only in one studio, while remake was in works in other building. Hence, he made photo of what he could. Also, do not forget about Corona, it is very possible IS decided to concetrate on one game and remake really wasn't worked on up until Engage's release when everyone was free.
About choice of game, FE4 is very popular at home, so devs will have this in mind. Also, this is less work than doing remake of two games (FE6 and FE7), while Tellius duo could just be lazy remaster, thrown for cheap along new game.
What I personally would want is FE8, of course, my favorite. But more sense-wise it should be Elibe games in one, imo.
My idea (cope) is given Echoes issues that came from being on a system at the end of its life, any Fire Emblem game will wait on the release of the Switch Successor System. After all the Switch did have a Fire Emblem game on or near release with Warriors.
That's also fair, if there is a fire emblem remake in works it would certainly be better for it to be at the start of the new console

I don't think an fe4 remake is at all assured, but the lack of an announcement given what we know about how long they sat on engage doesn't really say much.
However, what hurt SoV may not apply to an FE4 Remake on Switch 1.
The Switch is not backwards compatible with 3DS games. I would be incredibly shocked if Switch 2 is not backwards compatible with Switch 1.
Not to mention the original FE4 released about five weeks before the N64 came out in Japan, and did well regardless.
@@Bullwine True, but Nintendo could want the Switch 2 launch to have several secondary releases i.e. Pokemon Legends Z-A and a Fire Emblem remake to pair with a new Zelda and/or Mario game.

I agree for the most part but going by your argument of “why would they remake FE4 when they could remake much more popular games like FE6,7 or 8?” then that could also apply to Echoes
Why did they even bother remaking it if a FE6 remake would have probably done more money and done better marketing wise because of Roy and the popularity of FE7?
Echoes was more of a passion project than anything if you go by what the devs said in the interviews. FE4 remake could be one too.
GBA games are already at NSO and the game aged well
Remakes are a good way to get a game quickly out there and give it to new players. Sure while I don't like echoes much at all besides the art it was nice to be able to play gaiden
Echoes is so overrated man. Like the art/VA was good and that's it. Map design is literally the worst in the series.

Not related to the video but I give like a 70% chance that the playable Zelda fans won’t be happy with Echoes of Wisdom.

Nate the Hate, who is a pretty reliable "leaker," see his recent Nintendo Direct Prediction video, has said it's done and for Switch 1 but that he hasn't heard about it in over a year. To paraphrase it's just a matter of when not if. Switch 1 games are still going to be coming out and since Switch 2 will (probably) be backwards compatible it won't be an Echoes situation when it comes out in 2025.
We are in an era where games with a very vocal fanbase are returning, no matter how niche they are. Tactics Ogre got a remake, FFT has very reliable sources about getting a remastered, Tomba (obscure ps1 platform that is very loved by its players) is coming back on august, so it IS possible that FE4 gets a remake
However it's best for people who (somehow) liked the game to just chill out. If it happens, it happens but it's not something we should bet our money about

I do think that a FE4 Remake would be profitable as well as popular…and definitely might be more real than fake…hear me out…
In December 2021, Famitsu did a poll through TV Asahi that had over 50,000 people vote on their favorite games of all time. Only 2 Fire Emblem games made the list. Genealogy of the Holy War at 94 and Three Houses at 23. Granted this is only directed at Japanese audiences, BUT I still think it is something worth considering. No other Fire Emblem games made the list but those two.
Secondly, the Intelligent Systems Director and the Nintendo Director of Three Houses both made comments about their admiration for FE4 during interviews surrounding Three Houses and how Three Houses took inspiration from a bit of FE4. You might be thinking, “Ok why does that matter?”
Well, the way I’m looking at it is, the devs and business people at Intelligent Systems/Nintendo might have noticed the critical acclaim that Three Houses got and figured hmm…3H already takes a few cues from FE4…perhaps remaking this title would be good for the company. I think most FE fans know that Genealogy and 3H aren’t the same and do have quite some differences, but they definitely do have some similarities as well. A remake of FE4 could very well be marketed in a way that could draw in the audience that 3H brought in. Also, you have to remember the West never got FE4, so it’d kinda be a brand new game to casual gamers over here. And before someone says, “Well, Echoes could be considered new too because the West didn’t get FE2!” Yes…but also, Echoes came out 2 months after the Switch was released…Intelligent Systems kinda shot themselves in the foot with that one. Although Echoes still sold 1 million copies up to now which isn’t bad. Perhaps, the FE4 Remake is real, but they’re saving it for a release window in which it can be released on both the new Switch and the old one (that’s just me guessing tho so idk for sure).
Another thing is, NateTheHate who is…hmm…I wouldn’t say a leaker, but perhaps an insider??? He’s hinted at stuff before and got things right, has said multiple times that the FE4 Remake is real and finished and that Nintendo is just sitting on it. Nate had a thumbnail before Engage was announced where Marth had dual red and blue hair (which looking back was obviously a reference to Alear’s dual toned hair). He sometimes pops up on the SpawnCast, and I’m pretty sure the SpawnWave guy wouldn’t let him on without some sort of credibility. He also is on FamiBoards and I’m pretty sure they vet for credibility on there as well.
At the end of the day, do I know if the FE4 Remake is real, NOPE, but I am choosing to believe it is based on the things I described above. I could be wrong and maybe they are remaking FE6 or Path of Radiance, but I honestly think a FE4 Remake has A LOT of potential and FE4 seems to be quite the fan favorite over in Japan. Perhaps Intelligent Systems did have it done, but maybe they went back to fix things or add things to make it even better than they thought it was? Idk. We won’t really know until they announce it. If they are remaking FE4, I hope they give it the love it deserves. It’s one of my favorite, not only FE games, but games in general. They did an excellent job with Echoes imo, so I trust them to do well over at Intelligent Systems.

The problem with Fire Emblem is that it's not the most popular game Nintendo owns. It's amazing that there was four on the Switch. It doesn't really matter if there's a remake or a new game where it might sell the same amount of copies. I don't expect a new Fire Emblem until Switch 2, but with Engage they gave everyone voice acting so any old Fire Emblem game even Fate and Awakening could be remade.
There could easily be waiting for them to be close to finish the thracia remake as well so they can release near each other synced they are so closely related.
Not to mention the high likelihood that the genealogy remake will release on the switch 2. So if course they wouldn't announce it now

I still believe the remake is real, mainly because in Fire Emblem Engage, besides Marth, Sigurd is the only other emblem that has more screentime than the others, acting kinda like second in command for the emblems!
I've never played 4/5, but the way people who have talk about them makes me hope for a remake. Other than that, I think 9/10, which are generally well-liked and have arguably the series' most popular character, deserve a remake. Releasing those on GC and Wii was a crime.
9 and 10 still look decent, they don’t need a remake yet.
@@westonmeyer3110 I think OP is referring to the prohibitively high prices of GC and Wii games making them completely inaccessible to people who don't own them already. A remake would help a _lot_ with that, like it did for TTYD. Plus, they could make some improvements like, for instance, adding support conversations back into Radiant Dawn.

Remaking 9 and 10 or anything after that right now would take away any chance for a future enhanced port and potentially hurt the sales of the remakes of lesser earlier titles. They are better off releasing them on future Gamecube and Wii NSO programs.
It is better for them to remake all of the games that never left Japan first and then work their way to 9 and 10 so the upgrade in graphics and other improvements are the most they realistically can be.
I've been thinking a remake is going to happen, not because of any leak or what fans say, but because it just seems to make so much sense for them to do it

I have always doubted any leaks and rumors that come out. I heavily doubted the Engage leaks. Even though they were true, I still think it's the most reasonable reaction. People are always ready to pounce on any morsel of information no matter how dubious and say it's true even though there's no basis for it. We ought to ignore all leaks and rumors and only focus on real, actual, official information.
That said, I would love for an FE4 remake to actually happen because I want to see the reaction of FE4 fans when it doesn't have all the ridiculous mechanics like the pawn shop and requiring Pursuit to double that they all love so much. They've been clamoring for this forever and then it's going to be like every other FE game, the way it should be, and they'll be so disappointed.

I was also one of the people excited for Genealogy buuut I tempered my expectations quickly.
FE4 being the first Fire Emblem game on a new console just feels weird, a game that is a remake instead of a new entry or a Three Houses sequel, with 3h being such a popular game.
Intelligent Systems has skipped projects before. Iron9 does not exist because it was Sacred Stones. Iron 13 is just missing and it may be the case for Iron 18, heck it might be the same project (FE4).
Would I like FE4 to be localized and Nintendo slowly give us more games on current consoles, yes but I would like more main line games.
At this point I wish they’d just drop a collection of the first 7 games in English like they did with the OG FE. Sell that for 60 bucks and I’m there with bells on. Then do remasters of the tellious games. Then have all the ds games in another collection. Because as it stands now we can’t even purchase the older games anymore not since the Wii U.

I know a friend who's excited for an fe4 remake just so he can experience the story. And I'm like, why don't you just play the game on emulator? Or on super famicom online? I wouldn't say its the easiest fire emblem in the world but it certainly isn't the hardest either. I would love a remake of genealogy because i think they can improve and expand upon it but waiting for a remake that may or may not be in the company's radar to experience a story is just a setup for constant disappointment.
Every remakes always had to reduce the difficulty to make it easier. SMRPGR was one of them for how too easy it was to beat.
I am definitely leaning towards the remake being fake (or canned), but I don't buy the theory that the leaker mistook content in Engage for a remake.
Like, how do you know all they knew about Engage, that it's an anniversary game, that past characters show up, the graphical style in general, and then see Sigurd and think, "Oh, that must be a *different* game"?
The game could have been canned, or the leaker could have just lied. Or - and I don't want to call this a prediction, just a last chance - I do think there's still a possibility it could be revealed in a September direct and released early next year, much like how Engage itself was.
in Engage, Sigurd is the emblem that got the most attention, screen time and dialogues besides Marth. I'm sure there was a reason for that.
It will get remade EVENTUALLY, but I don't think soon.
idk the person who took the screenshots was like end game im p sure since they had mauvier and vander supports they probably would’ve known the difference and probably didnt leak the emblems. if the game was done for a year and you get sigurd pretty early its kinda hard to confuse them, especially since the emblems show up in somniel too
That's a good point, depends if they had their own copy and actually played it through or if those were just development screenshots. I feel like if they'd played the full game up to that point they would have given more information though
Lyn and Roy were two of the four to win the first CYL event, Roy is the only one who's game never released in the west it would make sense to do that first and if you do 6 and 7 in one go it would be an love letter to that.

People really shouldn't be upset. FE fans only have things to gain from the next FE game releasing on the Switch 2 with its much better hardware.

But one question that still is on my mind and why I was hyping up FE4 remake: why in the Holy Hell did Sakurai and his team remade the End of Despair OST in Smash Ultimate? That is just so incredibly odd and so specific choice to make. Not to mention Sakurai himself loves FE so much that he made Smash fans seethed endlessly on so many occasions. So I figured maybe they told him something in confidence and that was his way of hinting the fanbase?
At this point I have my doubts, but I still think it's the most likely to be the next remake. I'd commit unalive if the next remake was GBA or Awakening though, GBA games don't need a remake and Awakening doesn't deserve one. Path of Radiance at least could benefit from better 3D graphics and faster/skippable animations

I was kinda glad there was no trailer in the direct, because I want to play the next Fire Emblem on the Switch 2
I'd probably pick the Tellius games... even if it was $60 for each still cheaper than current and both could really use some polish *cough cough* support convos for RD *cough cough*
I think FE9 remake would make sense. Ike won the first CYL by a fair margin and Tellius is pretty hard to access, but honestly I don’t think the game needs a remake. What could be done to improve it? Like maybe graphical upgrades or voice acting could be nice, but not necessary, the main actual upgrade would be a ‘skip animations’ feature or a hold a to speed up battle thing. Since the game can be a bit slow. And honestly that could be achieved with a port to virtual console.
FE 4 never went out from japan but i can assure you that he has the potential to be the best fire emblem of the series and EVEN the best game ever made all time so i hope they will remake it (a remake of FE4-5 2 in one would be Amazing althought i doubt it will come out this way)
As far as games to remake, I feel like Genealogy or Thracia have to be up there, if for no other reason than they have no exposure in the west, and could then be added to smash, more anime sword bois featuring a horse this time

If there was a remake coming, it would be announced this direct. The next direct we get will most likely feature Switch 2 games. The games that come out early for a new console has always sold like hotcakes. Do you think they want to risk giving this insanely lucrative slot to a remake? It doesn't make sense when they can try to do an original game and have another Three Houses renesance.
Sad as I am to say it, it's quite possible that the game they were working on was something obscure like a Thracia 776 remake that they just saw as not important and shelved it.
Sadly, Fire Emblem isn't a big franchise in the eyes of Nintendo. They don't treat this IP with the same reverance they do Zelda or Mario. It's entirely possible we will never again see another remake, though I hope I'm wrong.
Personally, if I were to choose a remake I'd say Fire Emblem 6 would be a good choice. Roy is insanely popular as a Lord which is impressive considering his story has never been localized. His design and burning sword alone would be a big draw to your average normie.
I sadly think we are in for quite a drought in terms of FE news. The next direct is probably going to be closer to the new year, and there's no guarantee it will feature Fire Emblem news. I think the next 6 to 12 months will be some of the worst for the FE TH-cam algorithm.
While I agree with the sentiment of what you're saying, I don't think fire emblem is as overlooked by them as you might think. Look at the extreme amount of fire emblem characters in smash brothers for example. But I do agree that them aiming for another three houses moment would most likely be the best play to make. Chop chop on rebellion saga and fill that void

Engage just released. They wouldn't announce something so soon.
And besides, the next FE game is going to be on Switch 2, so any announcements would have to wait for the Switch 2 Direct. I don't think Genealogy would fit well, but who knows.
So, let's just enjoy the meme, because it won't last forever. One day, there will be a Genealogy remake, and we'll have to find new jokes.

IMO, at this point, I do begin to doubt that the next FE will be a remake, my guess is that if the next FE will be a new entry for a new console, unless they're really just going last minute switch release (or switch and switch 2). My guess is at this point whatever "Iron 18" was canned, possibly a remake, that might've been the game that was mentioned in the first rumor as it should line up in terms of dev time as starting after 3H but before engage, it may come back to life later.
Or the game is just currently sitting out there like many Nintendo titles in the past
Honestly, I just wanted the SNES to be ported and get official translations to (at least) english. People should be able to play those games in their consoles in the West already...

Onto fe4 again, if it does get remade Id love to see people play it going in blind since the memes, while funny, ruins one of the best plot twists in the game.
I would like it to be real, but I’d honestly be more excited for a new game (as long as it’s in the more three houses/tellius story/art style, engage was pretty but the character designs were crap. Story was very weak).

If a remake is real and it's being released on the new console then has to be a actual remake that feels brand new. I imagine they would have to tweak fe4 quite a lot, the gameplay is pretty dated and many of the story elements probably wouldn't fly in todays times. So it would have to be a remake as opposed to a remaster imo. Thank you very much!

Honestly, 3H made me think they would be willing to adapt the game without censoring it. Specifically the revelation that Jeritza's father was planning on forcing Mercedes to bear his crest-babies makes clear to me that the most controversial topics it covers aren't completely out of the question for IntSys.
@@safia6830 it's some spoiler stuff but to keep it vague I think the one that a modern western release would try and side step would be a situation involving mind control and a force marriage between two half siblings resulting in children.
Basically if we got FE4 remake it wouldn't have the same "teeth" and whenever it would come up in discussion you'd be seeing folks talking about how the darker themes and content made the orginal better. Other person put it as the remake curse but combine that with censorship cries from the same folks who got upset about Engage rewrites for things the west frowns on like child marriage and stuff. Basically FE4 remake would be a field day for either bad PR for the series or more elitist FE player base fuel. I'm frankly content to just play the fan translations.
Counterpoint, FE4's gameplay mechanics didn't really age up well, the game is sluggish and old, it needs a touch up.

One thing worth noting, Nintendo makes a conscious effort not to put games they're remaking on NSO, it kills a lot of the selling power of marketing a game if the consumer has access to the original on NSO.
This is important, because NSO Japan has FE1, FE3, FE4, and FE6 all on there.
It's true that most of the world don't have those games, but Japan does, and that is the home market for Nintendo. I don't think they'd have put out any of these games on NSO if a Remake was coming for that game, which basically points to Tellius as the one getting remade (Sacred Stones never gets acknowledged, but I expect it to drop on NSO late this year.)

I was very surprised they don't announce it during the last direct but im very confident a 3rd and last FE for the system is close to be released. I would say february-march 2025.

I love the Jugdral games and I hope we will experience them in a remakewith a proper presentation, localization, QoL and interesting changes (like SoV that turned the most forgettable entry in the series into a very original and charming game), for most of the players it will not be like it is a remake considering it is japan exclusive. But indeed, there is no reason for them to make them in order, and they actually did not it was 1 then 3 then 2. The director of echoes said he wanted to remake binding blade, considering Roy has at least some sort of popularity thanks to smash bros it can makes sense, and if it happens to be as gorgeous as SoV in terme of presentation that could make a great game for the new nintendo system.
Nintendo saw how bad sales were of Fire Emblem Shadows of Valentia due to releasing so late on the 3DS. Along with the lower sales that Fire Emblem Engage had compared to FE Three Houses. They will release FE4 remake on the Switch 2.

Yeah I think a remake of 4 would need to change a lot of the base game. The item situation would need to change and the money system. Let alone the map sizes which are huge. Also the arena as well. It’s a very odd design in the end. And I’ve never played the game but just watching lets plays of it makes me annoyed with the way the game has to be played especially if you wanna use more than Sigurd and his son. And while I’ll admit 4 is very popular in Japan outside of that honestly I’d rather have a 6/7 remake or the tellious games remade. Ike and Roy are way more popular characters than just about every other fe character other than marth maybe. It’d be easier to do fe 6/7 remake then 4 is basically what I’m saying. But it’s been over a year and a half since engage dropped and we haven’t heard anything we should be due for a new announcement in 6-8 months.
We already got paper Mario remake and we have to wait six or so months to have another IS game to launch. However, Mario and Luigi already took November spot and donkey Kong already took January spot

My personal theory is that they're waiting for the Switch successor because a lot of 3DS games released at the end of its lifespan (including Echoes) sold less, but your idea that they saw the Sigurd paralogue and ran with it is probably true, because I feel that if the leaker new about the Emblem stuff, that would've been among the things they mentioned. Meaning they probably didn't know about the Emblem stuff and maybe saw Sigurd stuff and assumed it was for a remake

I think it’s too early to say whether it’s happening or not. You have to consider that they probably didn’t want to release a game like Echoes and have it sell poorly as a late release when the next system has already been announced.
We already had TTYDR from paper mario which is owned by IS. Remember, between TTYD and WarioWare was at least six months from apart because they want their games to have a breathing room. I knew my prediction is no FE4R yet for the June direct because it wasn’t the right time to announce.
Nintendo is know to sit out games for years just like we’ve heard the same rumors of Zelda hd ports being real or not.

I wonder if Nintendo/Intelligent Systems want to avoid remaking FE4 at least in part due to things like incest in the game. They don't want a major IP to be associated with a M Rating (understandably so), but removing it could cause an outcry since it technically is important to the plot.
Seeing as how they originally skipped over FE2 to remake FE3, I can see them going for a FE6 Binding Blade remake instead.
We already saw what happened to TTYD recently with its censorship
5:16 Echoes failed because it sticks way too close to the game released 25 years prior. Being released at the end of 3ds lifespan certainly didn't help either. I get that the point was to recreate the experience of the original, but Gaiden map design was memed for a reason, and in Echoes they're only marginally less tedious. There is no reclassing outside of 3 pitchforks per playthrough, no alternate promotions, character customization, lunatic or any other challenging difficulty, supports are scaled down to bare minimum, and a bunch of other features from Awakening and Fates, that make Echoes a great remake, just not a great game.
Of the three remakes, New Mystery is the only one I would consider good. It adds plenty of new content on top of the original - it doesn't exclude them like Shadow Dragon and Echoes just because FE3 didn't have them. And of course we didn't get this one in the west...
Another reason why FE4 remake might not be coming anytime soon is because of Engage's financial performance and if it were to have similar artstyle, then that's probably for the best. So if anything I'm glad it wasn't announced, because if it is being worked on then it's not going to be ready anytime soon. And if not, then oh well.
Good news is that every FE games are built differently by design
From a logical point of view, I don't understand why Nintendo would want to do a remake of an old Fire Emblem game going forward. Despite the quality of Shadows of Valentia, it sold poorly compared to Awakening and Fates. They also know Shadow Dragon and Mystery sold poorly. They just did a game based on the older games (Engage) and it also sold poorly compared to Three Houses. The actual gameplay and graphics and animations was a lot better in Engage too - but it was really relying on nostalgia to carry it as the story and world building was fairly trash. I think they know the money is not in the past now - there is like 5 pieces of concrete data over a long period of time that all draw the exact same conclusion. Remakes are not going to happen anymore.
Remakes can still make sense between development cycles within a console generation, but with the launch of the Switch 2 coming in 2025, they will not release a new Fire Emblem game with a new engine that is a Remake. If you're going to invest in a new engine to take advantage of a new system, it better not be a remake. Shadows of Valentia told us that much. SoV released on an old console hardware in 2017, the same time as the Switch. I can't see them remaking a game in Engage's engine, essentially duplicating the same financial failure.
I'm not saying the remake was never in production, but it's clear that if it was, it was cancelled.

Japanese company would be more inclined to remake a popular game from the series... for Japan. Western-wise, yeah Fe6+7 remake would be the best bet but would IS focus more on the Western crowd or the Japanese crowd? It's like those MMO people with Ashes of Creation, it brings in views and that's what youtubers do. Gotta make money. The best types of leaks are the ones like graphic card or database leak, with how FF9 remake leak with everything else that was proven true, and the EpicDB leak. If you get information slip up from certain key persons, character artists or developers, then it's the best type of leak, like with SaGa Frontier 2 port/remake having their artist leak about working on it. It's not wise to get leaks from random people online, even if they sometimes get things true like with the Midori case. I don't mind what game I get as long as the gameplay is good, I already know the story is going to be trash because the current writer is terrible, so any FE game is good for me.
It’s not like that at all you damn well know that FE6, FE7 and also the Path of radiance games are significantly more popular in the west than FE4. This is not a Japan vs West thing in popularity.

Japan only skills/mons/etc or only taking feedback from their audience. I know the west loves 7 and 9, because we played them and not FE4 yet. Yeah other then nods in FEH and Engage, I really can't see FE4 (and sadly FE5 because collateral) getting a remake because of just how CENTRAL certain "elements" to the story are! Nintendo and IS will get SHOTS fired no matter WHAT direction they go! FE5 would be ALOT easier to remake because you could say IT is the foundation in which FE6-17 (yes even FE16/3H is included in that) have taken from the MOST (with bits of FE1-3 in them! FE4 really didn't see NODS till FE9 with Skills and Blacksmith and even then it's not really till 13 and later 14 that the elements came back COMPLETELY! Blacksmith and Skills! With FE17 bringing back "Weapon Levels based on Class" and Build/Bld in general as it was in FE5) and it's story is alot more EASIER to do! With the only issue being the IDIOTIC of doing a midquel BEFORE doing the story it's a midquel from FIRST. People will be more LOST then they were to ALOT of FE4-5 references in Engage if they aren't FANS enough to have looked up and PLAYED those entries!
While I would LOVE to see it! I frankly expect FE18 to be a new entry as Engage and 3H were previously! I get a REMAKE would be possible because the 3DS Trilogy was two new entries and a remake! But I really feel the last "Switch 1" (As I expect a Switch 2 to be talked about SERIOUSLY next year Q2 or Q4) Fire Emblem will be a new entry! Hope the Emblem Rings system is KEPT, just changed as to NOT completely BE the Emblem system of Engage! As in make it similar to the BOND RINGS with a NERFED "Engage Attack" that is "totally not ENGAGING" make the Emblem's instead GHOST representive's of the Battle Style's which should stay in the future entries but have some changes to them (like making Cavalry and Flying NOT just be what "they already fucking WERE ALREADY!" Seriously they're Battle styles were basically no different then their PASSIVE benefits like Flying not being RESTRAINED by Terrain or benefiting from it, and Cavalry having HIGH MOVE! Like make the MOV higher or give them something akin to "Trample" from Fates where they get INCREASED damage against infantry targets if THEY initiate attack! Or at least Canto naturally! And Armored get Wary Fighter in a way that the enemy WON'T plague you with it!) Frankly I feel Unique Skills should be ATTACHED to those Rings and next to a Stat Booster, they also work like the Shards/Crusader Scrolls/Bands from POR of old where having them equipped can give minor ADDITIONS to Total Growth Rates. Also since their getting NERFED, return Growth Rates to the levels they WERE AT back in 3H! Best to NOT make you OVERLY relying on the Rings/Bracelets to COMPLETELY make up for the higher risk of poor stat growths (And seriously BALANCE OUT THE CAST! It's silly how you don't see ANY Sword wielders sans Celine till Chapter 7 when Lapis joins and 8 when Diamant joins! Plus wasn't impress with how they handled Lapis and Amber who REALLY should have been a Lance Fighter and Sword Cavalier! Instead of a sub-par Sword Fighter that's quickly replaced by Diamant, not me HATING Lapis, I love her, but I do see why she gets overshadowed by Diamant and Kagetsu so HARD! Especially with her Personal being pretty annoying! I mean her High SPD has a problem as Lance's at LEAST have better MT to make that SPD worth it, but Swords and NOT balanced by a GOOD STR like OTHER Female Swordfighters AKA Mia and Hana were means she's a class cannon REALLY needing to promote early! Also give Second Seals or better yet LET the player switch classes EASILY like in Shadow Dragon/New Mystery if you're trying to ENCOURAGE Class Swapping Refering to the reputation Clanne has gotten because he's pretty WEAK magic wise for a MERRIC type character! I remember POR Soren and even little Annette from 3H dealing more magical damage then he does without a Spirit Dust)

Also another problem I see is the fact people are OVERHYPING FE4 and it's systems abit TOO much that I'm seeing OVERHYPE hating VERY incoming, especially if the "Casuals" HATE the mechanics! Worse if they stay TOO faithful, "Warts and All!" instead of certain FIXES! There's a REASON despite ESTABLISHING things! Future FE REFINED AND BETTERED mechanics and Mission objectives from FE 5! I do wish to see Combat Arts make a return and Durability be a MECHANIC for it while NOT getting too in the way of NORMAL attacking and defending (I was thinking Weapons are unbreakable when attacking/defending NORMAL! But decrease when Combat Arts are used! And the lower Durability, the more a STAT debuff will rear it's ugly head! Make Combat Arts SIMILAR in a way to Engage Attacks in being "Awesome but Impractical" to a LIMIT! You could use a Combat Art to END a battle without getting HURT, or cause a GOOD debuff, but you will have a WEAKER weapon.....or just do what some others have stated! Make WEAKER weapons and SPECIAL personals be unbreakable and everything else have durability WITHOUT disappearing from inventory when it BREAKS to be REPAIRED! And make MINERAL collecting for Forging ALOT more easier to deal with then was in 3H and Engage with the DOGS! Seriously the Pet system was poorly implemented because everything but dogs was useless! Also make COOKING more meaningful and LESS annoying as well! No RANDOM character's! You select one AND can improve their cooking if you select them more often! Also no "separate space HQ" anymore! Copy 3H "Base Camp and give the options of a MENU for the SPEED RUNNERS and those who DON'T want to deal with Loading screens that much/don't want to run around!

The great job they did with Shadows of Valentia has made me yearn for an fe4 remake in that style, but as has been said by many others, lots of quirks of the game and story are unlikely to survive. Huge maps, lopsided skills, no criticals for everyone, dark themes that have made no appearance as of yet in the western games, weapon repair and money management…
It would be so easy for Intelligent Systems to cut all these things for the sake of broad appeal. I’d prefer an FE6 remake because I feel like that has very little that needs “updating” in terms of gameplay.
It would also require a special lead, the reason SoV is so soulful is the person in charge was extremely dedicated to making it great as he had memories of playing the original with his father
My theory is that we'll see it revealed in the September Direct, with a release date for January/February. If no reveal in September, then we throw in the towel and accept that it wasn't real the whole time.

January is usually used as a port month(like DKC Returns).The only exceptions to that are when the game has been known about for like a year like Arceus and Engage to build hype for it.

FE6 would make more sense to be remade as simply having Roy on the box art would make it more appealing to a wider audience who recognizes him from Smash Bros.
