Was I the only one who was absolutely heartbroken for the Dad? His life is never going to be the same, his wife has been lying to him for YEARS and I think it goes without saying that his marriage is over. And the way that Haley turned her little nose up to the fact that he was “just a garbage man” really pissed me off. And the way she was smiling at the end was just freaky as hell. That girl was disturbed.

I see more of it as a mental break down. Anyone would be mortified to learn they slept with a blood relative; certain people react differently. For her, she's basically trying to rationalize the revelation that she slept with her father. That type of defense mechanism is trying to keep her from breaking
@Brooklyn LaMar I'm not blaming her. she clearly was being groomed but that still doesn't change the fact that it was creepy that even after she found out that that was her dad she was even more in love with him than ever. Just the fact that she had no problem framing an innocent person for murder just so she can run off with her teacher. The fact that she was not even thinking about how her parents would feel if they never saw her again makes her incredibly selfish
The poor dad, he’s been worried sick about his daughter and finds out he was lied to for years, finds out his wife had an affair and that his daughter was sleeping with her biological father, this is incredibly messed up
Yeah, he's the real victim of this whole ordeal. All their behavior ultimately hurt him: *The mom:* cheated on him and let him raise and love a child who isn't his. *The "daughter":* looked down on him and made him feel like crap about what he did for a living, I mean the guy mentioned it in court. It stung. *The creep teacher:* he slept with his little girl whom he loved very much and tried to steal her away. Even if it wasn't his biological daughter, but the fact that some old man slep with her lil'girl will haunt him forever. So no matter what angle you look at this from, he's the real victim in this episode. He lost his whole family in one go.
There is an actual syndrome of close relatives meeting late in life for the first time and developing sexual attraction. I've read several accounts on this. The people describe this kind of love and instant attraction as "all-consuming". It is apparently so incredibly strong, that many stop to care that the person they fell in love with is their father/mother/son/... So in the end it was basically the fault of the mother who denied her daughter to develop a bond with her biological dad early on.
@Jayne Eyre what causes it? I thought we naturally tend to avoid ppl we are genetically close to, to protect genetic integrity and keeping it from becoming a huge mess.
The moment when the mom starts talking about the Fugue and the Two Voices, and a few glasses of chardonnay, if you look at Finn behind her, Ice T's acting at that moment is utterly brilliant, his face shows his character has already started to put the pieces together about what the mom is about to reveal.

The smile on that girl's face. She's so messed up that she's happy about learning she was sleeping with her father. So what if the guy who raised her is a garbage man. He loved and cared for her for 16 years, so that should be all that mattered, not whether they were into the same music. You know the actor who played the supposed dad virtually played the same character in an episode of Motive, minus his daughter sleeping with her biological father, whom he killed when finding out the truth. You can't imagine how it would feel for any guy when finding out the child he raised and loved wasn't actually his.
I pretty much had their reaction that Brian has on Family Guy when he realizes that he slept with Quagmire's dad. Quagmire's dad in the show is now a woman. I'm in no way, shape or form saying anything bad about the lgbtq community, I'm just saying that was the reaction I had. He threw up for about 2 minutes straight.

I don’t even know how to handle this plot twist! What makes it even sicker than it already is, is that Haley doesn’t see how completely wrong it is! It’s even sicker knowing she tried to set someone up for murder so that she could keep having that distasteful relationship!
Great job on the writers. Deceptively naming the episode, "Send in the Clowns" and yet we would never thought the episode would end in a family-incest drama. Special Victims indeed.

What a plot twist!! Talk about all hell breaking loose! SVU keeps getting more and more good! I feel sorry for Chris having to end up processing all these revelations in under 3 minutes; his life is not gonna be the same. Will Sasso did an amazing job. It’s always the comedians who give such excellent dramatic performances. As for the daughter, she probably needs a whole team of psychiatrists to help her. Her smiling in the end gave me chills realizing she’s insane to believe it’s okay to sleep with her biological father. The mother certainly caused a stir in this scene. Keeping such big secrets for a long time would drive anyone nuts. This is probably one of the best SVU episodes ever done!!
This is what happens when kids don't know who their fathers are and the parents don't take the time to do an easy dna test to figure that question out.
She had some of the blame. But the bio dad decided to have sex with a student period. That’s not on her. The fact that she was his kid only makes the already made crime more tragic and disgusting.
I am so behind on my shows but finally caught up. The moment the mother said "17 years ago", I have seen enough of TV, I paused and I was thinking no way, there are not going through that route but they did. This was a great episode, the promo made it look boring but man, this was a great episode. Had me on my seat.
Something seriously wrong with that girl... she needs help... Her mum was cruel beyond belief, not only did she lie to her husband and make him raise someone else’s kid believing she was his but she revealed she wasn’t his daughter in the worst possible way with no consideration for the devastation she would be causing him.
I feel so sorry for Haleys non-biological father. He loved his wife and his "daughter " and did nothing wrong and then he just got betayed by everyone. That' so sad. :(
Super exciting episode! Plot twist was sick!.My heart went out for the Dad, the garbage man. Sickening the mother's secret the whole marriage and then hiring him to give piano lessons to Haley. Awful.
One minute the girl is the innocent victim, next thing you know the real victim is the dad. While he's not the victim of any crime, he finds out that his wife had an affair early in their marriage, that he's been raising a child that wasn't his (to his wife's knowledge), that his wife not only knew who the father was, but that he was a friend to them the whole time, and that it took the same man sleeping with his daughter for the truth to come out. Almost every aspect of his life was a lie. Practically everyone plotted against him, made him look like a fool, and turned their backs on him, even his child.
This takes dysfunctional family to a whole new level. I feel sorry for the father he loved the his wife and Hayley with all his heart and she betrayed him. Even after Hayley finds James is her real father she still loves him romantically. Wonder what going to happen with the Sadler family now?
Heated divorce, Hayley going through extreme psychiatric therapy sessions, James in jail, the father probably drinking his sorrows until he can't stand anymore.
Believe it or not, this kinda stuff can happen more than you think in real life. When biological fathers never meet their children or when siblings aren’t raised together. Hell, the chances of you sleeping with a cousin that you didn’t know about is more possible than the first two scenarios. Those two are going to need a hell of a lot of therapy.
Am I the only one that noticed when he said “just give me 5 mins in the cell with this scumbag” was the same thing this one father said to nassar when his daughters were testifying. I see you SVU 😂👍🏼
I'm here just to mention how great of an actor Will Sasso is. After seeing him in svu and these days in Young Sheldon, I can absolutely say he can nail both the "Dad that can snap into anger" and the "Happy and kinda dumb sweet dad", which are two opposites as roles. What a great actor!
All you single men out there watching this right now who haven't gotten married yet and/or have not had any children yet. You all are probably thinking to yourselves, "I sure hope I don't ever get dumped on the way Chris did at the end of this episode." Unfortunately, there are some mishaps in life we can only hope won't ever happen to us.
I think a lot of people aren't understandjng Haley's reaction. It's a normal actually. It's basically a defense mechanism; rationalization. Her mind was trying to prevent itself from breaking any further after she learned the truth by trying to rationalize the fact she slept with her real father. Imagine learning that the person you love so much is actually related to you by blood. You'd break, right? We all have different reactions, but for someone as young as her, it's far too difficult for her to process.
Hayley's reaction really got me steamed because I was brought up by my biological mother and my adopted father (l never knew my biological father but let's just say he was never meant to be a parent) and my adopted father has done everything that a true father would do. He taught me how to ride a bike, talked to me on my first day of school, read to me on nights I was too scared to go to sleep, helped me with my homework, and if I ever do get married I want him to be the one to give me away. He raised me and love me, I could never see anyone else as my father accept him but this girl...She completely disregards the man who raised her, loved her, and paid for her lessons and prefers some sexual deviant over him? She's sick. I could never imagine hurting my true father like that.
I understand how you feel. Believe it or not, I had a good relationship with my biological father and my adopted mother (or step-mother), because when I was very little, my biological mother had a poor mental health and a brain tumor, and because of them, I was scared of her because she would often get angry at me for no good reasons at all. Although I did love my biological mother, my adopted mother also did everything that a true mother would do. She was kind, loving, funny, optimistic, and whenever I would get sad, she would often comfort me, and encouraged me to be both hopeful and confident no matter what. I would never see anyone else as my mother except my adopted mother/step-mother. I feel so tremendously sorry for that man, who is Haley's adoptive father or stepfather, because he loved Haley like a daughter, even if he found out that she wasn't really his natural child, and I was utterly disgusted at Haley that she would call him a "garbage man", it was very cruel of her, after everything that her adopted father / stepfather had done for her, she would disregarded him. My biological father was a kind, honorable, and wise man, and unlike the pervert, who slept with Haley, his own daughter, my biological father would never do disgusting things to me at all. Believe it or not, I miss my biological father and my adopted mother/stepmother very much, and I could never, ever imagine hurting them like that either. I feel nothing but pain for Haley's adopted father / step-father, he loved both his wife and her daughter as if she was his own daughter, even before finding out the truth. I don't really remember my biological mother very well, she died when I was only a toddler but I know that she did love me before something went wrong with her brain, which changed her personality, and I was awfully scared of her, so I would go to my biological father and my biological paternal grandmother. After her passing, I met my biological father's second love, who became my adopted mother and stepmother to me, and I was very close to her as much as I was close to my biological father and paternal grandmother.
The way she smiled at the end saying that turned my stomach. she may have been in a state of shock but that was a whole new level of crazy. its like she disregarded what was going on as if it was nothing and moved on to the next topic..
Michael Hearn So if she wanted a child with that musical ability, why do you think she didn’t marry him instead? Or why not just had him be a sperm doner instead of cheating on her husband?
As I understood it, she was married at the time of the affair. James was a serial seducer. And, like her daughter, on some level she--the mother--resented her station in life, and wanted better for her child, So, she thought this was the only way to ensure the child a better life. But, like I said earlier, there are no guarantees
Actually, she should have told her husband Hailey was not his. He is completely innocent of all this. James is the scumbag, but, yes, he should have been told long before this.
This is what happens when kids don't know who their fathers are and the parents don't take the time to do an easy dna test to figure that question out.
Huh so you get that the incest thing was not entirely Hayley and James fault. It’s Anna’s for not telling them. Eh Kirstin.
@@matthewforsyth284 i know that it Anna fault for telling them the truth !
@@anastasiaisabella7354 how long did you to take this photo?
@@jgacfhhahjjshggqhhqikwhh3919 over the new year why do you ask ?
The whole thing was the mother's fault in the end for keeping this secret from the family
Yeah, but does that mean she really did cheat on her husband all those years ago? If so, why did she do that?
@@VSaber365 unhappy in the marriage?
@@TheMormonSorceress
And unsatisfied, probably. And for once, I do NOT mean that to be a sex joke.
@@VSaber365 you can be surprised why women cheat on their husbands.
She had some of the blame. But the bio dad decided to have sex with a student period. That’s not on her. The fact that she was his kid only makes the already made crime more tragic and disgusting.
Am I the only one who thinks that Haley should get professional help like a therapist or something? The smile at the end just says it all
1:36 well that exalted quickly 😮
I am so behind on my shows but finally caught up. The moment the mother said "17 years ago", I have seen enough of TV, I paused and I was thinking no way, there are not going through that route but they did. This was a great episode, the promo made it look boring but man, this was a great episode. Had me on my seat.
I miss BARBA SOOO MUCH
Beach Girl in a city World me too I really miss him
Anastasia Lily Castilo he made the show
I miss him so much. He was my favorite
O I too miss barba he is so cute ever since barba left I start reading fanficton about barba and oc stories on him
I like barba too but the new DA is pretty cool as well
I watched this whole episode when it aired. I died when the plot twist dropped. How messed up it is... is deniably hillarious. 😂😂😂
which season and Episode.??????
Something seriously wrong with that girl... she needs help... Her mum was cruel beyond belief, not only did she lie to her husband and make him raise someone else’s kid believing she was his but she revealed she wasn’t his daughter in the worst possible way with no consideration for the devastation she would be causing him.
This is what makes LAO so much different from the other police shows, every episode has a compelling storyline and great acting.
Last episode was good but this one OMG!
The way she smiles at the end rests uneasily on me. 😤
The actors in this show in the intense scenes are so good that I sometimes forget that they are acting and this stuff isn't real
Sorry to tell most cases are from real life they change names places some details say it's fiction to avoid law problems but is real
Will Sasso is such an EXCELLENT actor!
will sasso is the only innocent person in this family, give him a medal.
She slapped the glasses off his face
When I saw this episode for the first time and this was last year, I was like, "Damn, I hurt for the father...". This was a lesson learn for families.
Director: write a script that's gonna give heart attacks to everyone who watches the scene.
Script/screen writer: Hold my beer..😂😂😂
I didn't know Will Sasso could do drama. The music makes him look superb.
Crazy episode and ending twist is crazy
Sooo if the daughter gets pregnant...nvm I give up
I know, right?!
Father/Grandfather?
Don't go to Chinatown or deliverance
Don't even try
I feel like my brain might explode if she did.
1:13 When he quivered his lip, just kills me 😂. I know that this scene was messed up but i can't help burst a little laugh.
MY MOUTH DROPPED WHEN SHE SAID DO THE MATH☠️☠️
This was probably in the top most shocking moments in this show.
2:28 that was the moment I think the poor girl has lost her mind
you "think"?
“Give me five minutes alone in a cell with that man and I’ll...” I felt that I’ve wanted to do that to so many people😂😂😂 but I didnt
I feel so sorry for Haleys non-biological father. He loved his wife and his "daughter " and did nothing wrong and then he just got betayed by everyone. That' so sad. :(
This's like the ultimate Law And Order SVU sequence. It has it it all....
Will Sasso is such a wonderful actor! Can do both comedy and drama! Bravo, Will! 🤩👏🏻👍🏻
He’s so good at acting
I love his movies and shows he is in
Jaw dropping episode. Omg
Will Sasso kills in this episode man. I love that guy. Tony soprano all the way. And that girl was beyond saving, artsy like dad but psycho like mom.
I love Mallory she’s an outstanding actress!
"Just give me 5 minutes alone in a cell, with him!"
Well, that would save the taxpayers the cost of a trial.
I feel like I have to bundle up now because that smile sent a chill through every last nerve in my body.
The most shocking and twisted ending in Law and Order: SVU history. I did not see that coming. I felt so sick to my stomach.
Super exciting episode! Plot twist was sick!.My heart went out for the Dad, the garbage man. Sickening the mother's secret the whole marriage and then hiring him to give piano lessons to Haley. Awful.
That cheater does not deserve to be happy. She needs to be left alone shamed and embarrassed
IKR, biggest irony of the century "The Garbage Man" has a garbage family
I feel sorry for that big dude he seems like a good man!
"I knew my father couldn't be a garbage man".
THAT'S what you got out of all that!?!
No amount of sawdust can clean the puke this scene brought out. That kid is really screwed up.
This takes dysfunctional family to a whole new level. I feel sorry for the father he loved the his wife and Hayley with all his heart and she betrayed him. Even after Hayley finds James is her real father she still loves him romantically. Wonder what going to happen with the Sadler family now?
The family will be no more ever!
Heated divorce, Hayley going through extreme psychiatric therapy sessions, James in jail, the father probably drinking his sorrows until he can't stand anymore.
Great episode!!!! The daughter had no remorse for her part.
The daughter is in shock
The daughter was a social snob, and a sociopath
She didn't know so it's not her fault Nor is it his.
Michael Hearn she’s also a child who was completely manipulated by her own father...
And by that I mean for the incest not the statutory rape pal.
“Do the math”
MY JAW DROPPED.
This is why I love this show...moments like this.
Am I the only one that noticed when he said “just give me 5 mins in the cell with this scumbag” was the same thing this one father said to nassar when his daughters were testifying. I see you SVU 😂👍🏼
Affairs in this show have a 100% birthrate
To quote Stan Marsh "Dude, This is pretty *$+-ed up right here"
I think a lot of people aren't understandjng Haley's reaction.
For this she is inoccent but for Hailey lies faking her murder she almost send inoccent men to jail for life she was twisted
Well-said. :)
I feel so tremendously sorry for that man, who is Haley's adoptive father or
stepfather, because he loved Haley like a daughter, even if he found out that she wasn't really his natural child, and I was utterly disgusted at Haley that she would call him a "garbage man", it was very cruel of her, after everything that her adopted father / stepfather had done for her, she would disregarded him.
This family is a therapist’s wet dream
The way she smiled at the end saying that turned my stomach. she may have been in a state of shock but that was a whole new level of crazy. its like she disregarded what was going on as if it was nothing and moved on to the next topic..
🤢🤮 Yuck! The mother is equally at fault. She may be even more at fault.
Michael Hearn So if she wanted a child with that musical ability, why do you think she didn’t marry him instead? Or why not just had him be a sperm doner instead of cheating on her husband?
As I understood it, she was married at the time of the affair. James was a serial seducer. And, like
her daughter, on some level she--the mother--resented her station in life, and wanted better for her child,
So, she thought this was the only way to ensure the child a better life. But, like I said earlier, there are no
guarantees
beautyfool She should've told Jimmy he's the father of Hailey.
Actually, she should have told her husband Hailey was not his. He is completely innocent of all this.
James is the scumbag, but, yes, he should have been told long before this.
I agree with you a 100 percent.
