Hey just wondering. When doing the null sprite glitch, sprite slot #3 usually falls off the map, but sprite slot #1 has a bunch of flags cleared, correct? I'm wondering about the graphical weirdness that occurs with sprite slot #1 after spitting null sprite.. The null sprite glitch at 8:50 is mixed with stun glitch, and both the sprites have some extreme weirdness as well. Then the null sprite glitch at 9:10 doesnt look like a stun, but the graphics are still off after the glitch is executed. And then the "death" gfx routine on that sprite has weirdness. Do you know any technical reason why the sprite gfx routine gets weird in these cases? I've just been assuming that its a side-effect from the sprite slot #1's flags being cleared. Thanks!
Those two examples you gave were in a stun glitch. That is, these graphics were of the stunned sprite. When you make a stun glitch, it overrides the null sprite glitch because Yoshi has a slot in his mouth. A real result of the null sprite glitch, you can see at 9:30, in which the speaker becomes a damage-causing sprite. I don't understand much about the null sprite glitch, but I hope that helps. In summary, these strange graphics you mentioned are graphics of the stunned sprites.
Sorry for the delay, but if Yoshi is in a slot larger than the item (be it a key, a shell, a p-switch etc), you can hold it mounted on Yoshi. However, shells and other sprites damage Yoshi.
It just looks, it's a lot harder than you think. More precisely, to reach this level there takes at least 2 years. Unfortunately I do not have time to teach you :(
