Not targeting you in particular, but I’ve noticed, a lot of Nigerians know little about other countries in Africa... except perhaps Ghana... I find it disturbing. I had a roommate from Ghana and one from Nigeria and oddly enough, for me, they knew very little abt the rest of Africa except their respective countries. Not targeting you in particular, once again. Un constat.
@@naomicampana it's amusing how you used the phrase "not targeting you in particular" about twice. I guess you're avoiding trouble, lol. I come in peace 🤗 I am from the Eastern part of Nigeria, that is, the Igbo tribe and the truth is, I have little or no knowledge about the Northerners (Hausas). I do know a lot about the Westerners (Yorubas) because I have lived all my life in the West but I can't say same for the Southerners. And we are all in the same Nigeria 😅 I don't think any Nigerian sets out *not* to know anything about Africa and Africans. For me, it happened that I just wasn't just taught (I think the same applies for majority). Besides the recitation of African countries and capitals we did in primary school, the only other formal education I had about Africa came from my primary school French teacher who was Togolese. We might appear to know a lot about Ghana but that's majorly because they're a neighbouring country which has English as an official language. Thus, there are no language barriers. Also, we sort of have a going relationship with Ghana that we don't have with other African countries. For example; my secondary school, another Nigerian secondary school and Achimota School, Ghana has (or had) an annual tripartite games. We (our schools) took turns hosting the other country each year. I remember traveling to Ghana to partake in the Tripartite games and Achimota students coming down to my school the next year. This experience was not only fun, it was an opportunity to experience a new culture, learn and make new friends. I hope you understand this situation now. Kindly pardon the length of this my "little speech".
Truly, didn't mean to offend you. I grew up in the West as well. It's really just me realizing that Nigerians do not know much about the rest of Africa besides Nigeria. I always find it 4nud
Besides... Cameroon is a neighbouring country and official language English... And.... All in all. The more we learn abt Africa... The better for us. We need to be together rather than playing faves I come in peace

While it is undeniable that Africa still suffers from extreme poverty and instability in a lot of its region, the common western conception of the continent being one big dusty land with no water is downright insulting. A lot of countries deserve to be recognized not only as parts of africa but as individual countries, we are the most diverse peoples in the world, we range from the whitest people in north Africa to the darkest in central africa, we speak multiple languages and we have to each its own identity, I'm tired of seeing videos about africa, I want videos about Burundi, About Drc, I want uganda and mali to be recognized as they are and not just proud african countries

I come in peace 🤗
I am from the Eastern part of Nigeria, that is, the Igbo tribe and the truth is, I have little or no knowledge about the Northerners (Hausas). I do know a lot about the Westerners (Yorubas) because I have lived all my life in the West but I can't say same for the Southerners. And we are all in the same Nigeria 😅
I don't think any Nigerian sets out *not* to know anything about Africa and Africans.
We need to be together rather than playing faves
I come in peace
I'm Brazilian and I really enjoyed this video! Very informative and well made. I wish I learned more about Africa in school but at least there are these videos that help me understand "the other side of the story" (that's not just animals and poverty)
Thank you!
Means a lot you saying this. It is the precise reason why I started the channel, to provide a better understanding of Africa, many thanks for watching
Its really unfortunate, hope the channel will help fix that.. Many thanks for watching
The only thing school has though the students in the western world is how to be indoctrinated and brain wash so they will see the world from an ignorant point of view, brainwashing for white , and brainwashing for blacks, one so call education to makes one feel superior and one so call education to make one feel inferior , den you becomes and educated fool, with illusion and vails over your eyes , keeping you in complete ignorance and darkness and den you suffer the traumer of such mind dat been given to you in school because you don't know other wise, ah lot of black people/Africans is the victim of such.
I have friends from South Africa, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Sierra Leone and Cote d"Ivoire so I've always been interested in learning more about the continent and its diverse cultures and history! I'm not, ANC sucks ass and is crippling the economy. Apart from the landscape and wildlife, you're telling me you're happy with constant load shedding, constant crime and and constant corruption from the government and their state owned companies? Get outta here, there's nothing to be proud of here other than the land and biodiversity and even that is a bold statement given how every other site is a dump sitr with rubbish all over the sides of roads and highways. I really don't understand you guys who are 'proud' to be from this place
@@pr0j3ct97 most if what you're saying is true but if you go and live in another African country, you'll see how good you actually have it.
Many thanks @Reda Benzhra for the thought-provoking insight, I definitely have individual country analysis in the works, stay tuned
Why is it important to you strong Africans what the Western media says?
@@danielmarcinko7684 Because it affects foreign policies, wars and ultimately human lives. What starts as an idea becomes action, to put it in another word westerners have no virtuous leg to stand on even if they like to cry out that they're "peace makers" therefore It's only fair to shine the reality.
Do i think it'll change anything? no. westerners are too arrogant most of the time to see beyond their nose, beside they are dead people, they just don't know it yet, their lifestyle is catching up to them. No need for worry, but still truth must always be held upfront lest we become like them.
Hope that answered your 'question'
First off Africa has a lot of water.
@@altumurnemtzra2026 I think you are engaging in philospohy too much here, I agree with what you are saying but it is irrelevant. Western traditional ideas and mindset is collapsing, but Africa is very weak in leadership. You say that Westerners think that Africa is a barren wasteland, so tell me what are Westerners doing there for the last 500 years? Those Westerners that colonized and exploited Africa know that it is abundant in almost all raw materials they might need, and they remain a threat to Africa to this day, only difference is they now have China to compete with for Africa. Where is African sovereignity? Open your eyes.

I'm an Indian 🇮🇳 and I have lot of admiration for it's history and people. I already know quite a bit about Thomas Sankara(One of my favorite personalities), Massa Mousa, history of Liberia, Morocco and their love for Indian content, history of South Africa, Nigeria because my father worked there, fascinating Germanic lifestyle of Namibia, Somalia which was a shining star now being shamed, DRC struggling but a vibrant Kinshasa and the runners tribe from Kenya. You guys deserve a lot of respect and love. I have interacted with black people in France and I'm pretty cool with them. Our family bonding, the general amicable society, rich food which are similar to Indian or South Asian culture. I think it's really important we protect our indigenous culture but also improve our lives.
I wish my country helps you guys more. We can have a good business relationship like we and Russia or US or neighbors like Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Afghanistan or even distant nations like Vietnam. Even Rwandan President Kagame also met Modi a few times.
Hope good times come for everyone

Wow
Many thanks! Glad to hear you are passionate about Africa.. cooperation between the many countries of Africa and India can yield a very prosperous future for both peoples.
Kiran, I have lived in India as a student from Mauritius. Most Indians are very prejudiced towards dark people bordering on open racism. They said bad things to African students. As I speak Hindi fluently, I could understand their insults and discern their contempt and hatred for African people. I had a lot of African friends and they would tell me about their experiences in India. Later, I even travelled to Kenya and met my old college pal after ten years. What you write in your post are wishful and naive thoughts far removed from the stark realities. Sharasha bakhwash!
