It weren't forced sterilisations, what Denmark did, but the forced provision of contraception to avoid out of wedlock teenage pregnancies. The policy was also continued under self rule. Listening to Europeans speak to themselves on how much dangerous Russia is to Europe makes me laugh. What is the rules based order? It doesn't exist. Europeans must understand that Ukraine has lost the conflict and to pretend NATO expansion East is not the reason for the conflict is just mind-boggling.
The issue isn’t just about a singular cause. Understanding this requires knowledge of political system typologies, history, and social science. It involves Russian autocracy, characterized by a kleptocratic Duma filled with billionaire FSB officials who cling to power until the bitter end, intent on passing their illicit wealth to their offspring and securing their positions. They could never do it, if they kept Russian constitution and institutes democratic, could never do it with a significant Russian-speaking population nearby living in a democracy in the EU. Without NATO, there’s a high chance that Putin would have targeted Baltic and Eastern European states much earlier, similar to what he is doing in Ukraine. The reason for the Ukraine war is internal Russian politics and a dictator, who is obsessed with Ukraine and power. It’s not an external bunch of uncoordinated allied with a contract has not even been anything but paper before the war.
@@D.A.A.321According to Jeffrey Sachs who led the "shock doctrine" in Russia, it was West that imposed corruption on Russia in 1990s, but Putin saved Russia from European kletocracy and reduced corruption massively. @ no the US does not defend us honey. First thing we will do if US attacks Greenland is to close every single one of the 13 US bases in Europe. You can count on that. This world can not afford to have a person like Trump making insanely damaging decisions, for America, it's neighbors and the rest of the planet. We are in this altogether, this isn't just an American affair! To start, talk to your family, your friends to anyone about your concerns and embarrassment, everything will help to stave off the danger and make America a better place for everyone.
I am not very old American and I know one island close to America, Cuba. In Russian Куба - Красные У Берегов Америки. We should not do the same mistake twice.
I'm an American too. I think America should be first just as Angela Murkel of Germany was getting very close to putin and turning her back to America. No more Mr.Nice guy or a milking cow.

Maker Europe Great Again. MEGA.
Will he indermine international rules? He already has and he isn't president yet.
You are upset Trump is stopping European genocide in Palestine?
America is in decline. What do you do when in decline, you consolidate. That’s what he’s doing. And it may very well be in the best interests of those countries in the US sphere of influence. Who knows. Also US pulling back from obsessive intervention around the globe will probably be good for the world.
Either way, he is cementing himself as an extremely consequential president in the history of the United States.
if he does what he says he will, the decline will be accelerated, not adopting new tech, increasing domestic costs, lower tax base, higher deficit, doing nothing to combat climate change, dividing the country over the funding of natural disaster relief, pulling back from overseas aid and involvement , which leaves the field clear for Russia and China to move in. If he wants dependable allies then hes going the wrong way about keeping them. its destabilizing the global order when we need cooperation and stability.
"Find peace in the middle east?" Really? It seems a lot of people do not really know Trump.
What's behind trump's expansionist ambitions? Pootin. Who benefits from it? Pootin.
Europe needs to start standing up for itself and defending itself. And working together that includes EU members and non EU . We need to stop relying on the US to look after us
Then you will start WW3. That's why the US is there, remember?
Trump is a bully.
Europe is cooked
It is painful to watch intelligent people spend so much time talking about an orange clown and his clown show. We have no other choice? How did we get here?

You can smell fear off this panel
The US arms industry has its tongue hanging out on the ground!
not really. more disbelief, anger and the feeling of having been betrayed. That could be bad for Europe or it could be an opportunity, we'll see. but by no means fear

The one that was providing Germany with cheap energy is the ENEMY. (RU)
The one that blew up Germany's Pipeline that provided it with cheap energy is called FRIEND. (USA)
The ones that keep buying German products are called a threat. (CHN)
The one who keeps helping her FRIEND destroy her own country is called Ursula von der layen who went to Qatar.
The FRIEND wants a pipeline from client state Qatar to Europe, to decouple the ENEMY from Germany and strangely enough Syria was the biggest roadblock for the pipeline, so their government was removed and some Dodgy Friends of the Empire were installed.
You forgot to mention the importent part how they used the "cheap"gas as a weapon. Guess that did not fit your agenda.
Where is your evidence of this?
Just a putin wannabe. Well, if he can do it ......
I know. Biden is pathetic.
And on another note, Tik tok is to US as Google, Meta X are to Europe. Time for Europe to lead.
It weren't forced sterilisations, what Denmark did, but the forced provision of contraception to avoid out of wedlock teenage pregnancies. The policy was also continued under self rule. Don't get me wrong, the application was traumatic for many of these women/children, accidents happened that made women infertile and consent was not taken to the degree it should have been. Still it's much more complicated than the maximalist alligation of sterilisation makes it look like. If we really want to get the world in a better shape, we got to take the time to understand things in context.
There’s an official report regarding the sterilisation due to May this year and we will know more.
Any word about forced relocations and taking of children?
How kind of them.
@@yonasyonas1962 I don’t know anything about the case and I’ll wait for the report, but I know that incest - drunk fathers raping their daughters - has been a huge problem in Greenland. Maybe this has been a concern for the authorities, but I will read the report.

I hope Canada forges closer links with Europe. We have many of the raw materials that Europe needs and Europe has much technology Canada can use.
Invest EU money in EU companies not US companies. Norway's sovereign wealth fund has invested largely in US companies. Your fundamentals have been wrong since the Inception of 20th century. Your interests align with China and Russia but US won't let you bcz It's interests lie in creating friction between these. Cooperation between EU, China & Russia: win win for all three but who loses? Ofc US , threat to superpower status.
Norway can afford to speak. Every other European country is at Putin’s mercy…
He keeps upping the NATO spending commitment, even above what military spending is in the US, as a pretext for undermining or unraveling NATO. 5% is silly, and wouldn't even be popular if he and the GOP did so in the budget this year domestically. This is just nonsense to undermine NATO ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
just wait, he’s handing you on a silver plate like John the Baptists head…
Why should the US PAY FOR EU’s DEFENSE???
RUSSIA cannot defeat Ukraine, they could not defeat Europe.
There is no such thing as eternal allies. Europeans will learn that the hard way.
We europeans have been living in a bubble, comfortable bubble of illusion but that time will soon be over. The so called "international world order based on the rule of law" (which only applied to non Western countries as neither the US nor France nor GB faced sanctions for their multiple violations of other countries sovereignty (Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yugoslavia...) is dying.
We can't live eternally like we're still in the 1990-2000's where western hegemony was TOTAL and ABSOLUTE because it is no longer the case.
Well, Germany elected to fight Russia for the resources and failed once again. What do you want? The state is desindrualised and becomes a pray for anybody with some ambition and power.
Yeah because they fight against everyone. Now we have 30 NATO members. You can't attack all of them!
We don't have a single party that wants to invade Russia, so I am not sure what you mean by that.
Also "desindrualised" is not a word.

US 100yrs ago: champion of the right of self determination
Objective: creating smaller countries
Europe at that time was large empires
Europe's two suicides in 2 World wars. All empires broke down. US became superpower. Ist challenge to US dominance was USSR so it had to be dismantled. US Objective achieved successfully by EU help.
Until there were no more challengers to US dominance everything was going fine until China emerged as a US rival. Again EU help required to pull down a fierce competitor. EU not helping in the manner required: threats of occupying Panama canal, Greenland started emerging. US now : expansionist . So guys it has always been about US interests not about principles ( right of self determination blah blah). Sold/taken orders for new weaponry to EU , now pushing for gas buying. Who is the sole winner of Russo Ukraine war? Ofc US. A divided dependent, allied EU : US interest .When will EU wake up & stand up for it's interests?
have you noticed that big red bloc that Putin has erected straight through Eastern europe?
fallacious arguments that in a history course essay would be given a failing grade ! Drawing conclusions from a russo-paranoid angle is not analysis. Nations that are seriously imperialistic like RU (the last actual classical empire on earth) perceive the world of successful nations, as well as the poorer nations as you have stated. It is a jealous seething stance that always results in aggression, every single time! We europeans will NOT tolerate RU any longer. IT will be contained, up to possibly being demilitarized to an extent that it cannot harm any european assets whatsoever. That's a big thing! Get ready bcuz the next 15 years requires this process.

yes, but what were his intentions?
He wasn't worried about our safety, he just wanted to sell more LNG and weapons, that's all.
That's why he now wants 5% instead of 2% investments in defense and is threatening Denmark with tariffs because of Greenland and Germany because we don't buy enough of his LNG.
He is not a statesman, just a salesman

According to what international laws does Denmark own Greenland, France owns New Caledonia, Britain owns the Maldives, Holland owns the Antilles. Look at what France did to the indigenous population in French Guiana. The natives were exterminated at the beginning of the last century. The European colonial system must be dismantled.

Clare Richardson is excellent and so is Melinda Crane. Both gentlemen are as well. Thanks for having them all on the panel!!!
Trump wants 2 things:
1. Europe needs to pay their fair share into NATO, into your own Defense.
2. Trump wants Europe to lower their tariffs on US Goods. He has talked about raising tariffs to match tariffs charge the US.
What international rules. Never seen the list of said rules. Now i do have access to international law documents.

Land-grabs has been hapening in Palestine for 76 years. Are land-grabs only an issue when Greenland is on the table?

As an American can i just say i agree that European nations should be spending more on their own national security. We are getting taxed like crazy to provide security to other nations. That being said threatening nations that our allies is not the way to go. But decades have gone buy and alot of the European nations dont even spend the 2% that THEY agreed two. You are not "helping" other nations but violating them like the Diddy
You have to pay so much tax so that your rich have to pay less and less tax, next time vote for a president who advocates a fairer tax system, for example Bernie Sanders instead of clown Trump.
Agree. Europe is the last fortress of civilization, and needs to become the next superpower. Eurooe has the wealth and the most educated population on earth. As for Europeans complaining now about US bullying, the Europeans were happy to go along and assist the US in invading Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Palestine. Indeed, they felt pride in assisting the US.
Let the US take Greenland, and let Russia take some more of Europe. The Europeans were invading countries in the world for 500 years, so let them have a taste of invasions.
Hmm, very pro russian arent you,? They are as every bit as bad as the USA , probably worse in many ways they took over most of Europe post war and their rule was awful. .

Look at all US bases.
@ no the US does not defend us honey. First thing we will do if US attacks Greenland is to close every single one of the 13 US bases in Europe. You can count on that. US would be thrown out of NATO for attacking a member country.
US is the only country to have ever requested assistance from NATO, activating article 5. Every NATO country answered and assisted US in Afghanistan, which you guys then lost.
