Peeex Fishing thanks again Craig. Yeah, certainly was amazing to get that reel back.... we made sure the FB group also acknowledged Jordan for being so honest. I posted a shot showing him handing it back to me. That group, Tiger’s Fishing Tips, has about 18k followers. Look forward to your next video too! You guys have such an amazing fishery. We have about 3m people living in my fishing region, so I guess that affects the consistency somewhat. I’m having a fishing slump... but have a couple reasonable catches from last two trips that I might make a short video of soon. But the mackerel haven’t really arrived yet. This week could be the start!

I saw Rokitt Kit (The kayak guy at Coolangatta) do a beautiful ceviche the other day with a freshly caught spotted mackerel and it looked amazing. He was up at Fraser Island. @@PeeexFishing Yeah I watched that ep too. The ceviche looked really good and I'l be trying that soon. The water temps at Fraser are about 2-3 degrees warmer already than here, but the spotties and spaniards are on the way! Small number caught over the weekend on the SC and the GC. Just need to have the weather and winds to bring in them in! We need SE winds to bring the warm water in. The NE winds that we have had for the last 3 weeks only stir up the water from the bottom and keep it a bit too cool and very murky.
I double tether when one tether is too long and will allow the rod to bounce out of the rod holder. The second pulls it down to stop it jumping out. I've actually lost another two rods that were actually tethered, not counting the Railblaza failure! The issue was that stainless rod holders on rear esky holder are welded to the frames and can break off from salt corrosion or just plain strain/leverage when the rods are swinging back and forth. The better rear mounted eskies like Fishski don't have this issue, but the stainless ones are all prone to it. So look out! Luckily the other two that I didn't get back were not too expensive, but nevertheless I still wasn't happy about it and put a but of a dampener on the day out. You could probbaly hear me swearing from several k's away! But when you tether, do not have tethers attached to the rod holder. That is my biggest tip!
Hey mate! Just wondering if the tubbies are quick release? Or have you done a video on this? I am wanting a universal Jetski - fish in the morning and if wanting to, go skiiing in the afternoon at the local dam with the family.
One thing I’d also mention is that you really don’t need to take them off unless you want to go crazy or wave jump or something! Btw we shot the video today, might edit it sometime this week.
Hi Jetfisher. Thanks for another great video. My Tubbies don't have the tethers. Did you fit them yourself or did Shoreline do those? If you have any details about them I'd be interested. Hope you hook up on a nice big Spanish soon! :)
Thanks crom29a! Shoreline can supply the little loops but they are just nylon loops that most chandlery shops have. I fitted these myself. Just some small stainless self taper screws. The tethers themselves are stainless nylon coated cable with clips both ends. I get these made up myself, but local chandlery shops can make them for you at around $20 each. Or find something similar on eBay I guess.
Brett Nosworthy I’m trolling a dead Bonito, about 35cm long. I’ve tried faster but they will spin if you go too fast. In fact at 7 knots (13kmh) it will likely be on the surface and start skipping. If I’m using skirts and hard bodied lures, 7knots is about the right speed for a ski. I’d say small dead baits with skirts like dead pilchards or gar would handle a lot faster....but that’s only my opinion and I thank you for adding a comment. Anybody else out there offer their opinion on this one?

U only trawl slow for dead baits lures u need to be going 7 knots at least.
