Paul you've got balls of steel fishing in the impact zone! All you need is a freak wave and if you don't see it coming you're toast. Pretty exciting fishing though.
I had one of those waves and ended up in the footwell between the seat and the left Tubbie soaked through! But the swell was less than 1m and I wouldn’t dream of trying it in bigger swell!
A couple of weeks on and I've discovered that Jetfisher reruns are more than perfectly acceptable viewing while enjoying a beer on a Friday night! Especialy when life and the weather have other ideas about new content. :)
No worries Douger! Happy to spread the good info as I learn new stuff myself! This one was definitely an adrenaline rush of a morning- despite the couple of hairy moments! :)
Yes I was considering that. We lost a lot on the trebles, and others that were released being undersized would have had very sore jaws. Do you find the hookup rate good?
Yes mate they do need them. If you breakdown the rescue services can get annoyed if they have to keep under 8 Knots! That’s is the max speed Yamaha say if being towed. It’s in the User Manual. I have a tow tap. Thanks for the positive vibes too! :)
Hey Sir, I wonder if you can tell us if jetski collar made in AU has more added buoyancy than this tubbies. And do you know how that tubbies was made to add buoyancy? Was it the built in foam at the bottom or when you close the tubbies with trapped air will add buoyancy and might help prevent the ski from sinking. Was the tubbies designed to add storage or also adds buoyancy to avoid the ski from sinking too low when it gets filled with water?
Hi Nap. I hear the collars are great at offering floatation. In fact I also heard the designer of the collars was run up the back by another jet ski recently. If it wasn’t for the collars the ski would have definitely sunk. Tubbies have foam glassed into their bottom that gives positive buoyancy. I am told that this, combined with their volume, should stop the ski sinking even if full of water. The Tubbies are designed to add storage but to pass regulations in their country of manufacture they had to pass a test proving they give “positive buoyancy “
Can I please ask if you do not mind what would your jet ski fishing unit be to buy an have it set up the simulator way . You have really set up so very well and be a pleasure to be able to go out fishing on. I be thankful for you help an advice please. Kind regards from John Dickson in Sydney nsw
Hi John. As setup around $30k AUD on the water. Of course you don’t have to get all the same accessories to get out there, but they sure make it easier and safer! Contact Shoreline for an up to date quote www.shorelinejetskis.com. They do the Tubbies. FYI base ski about $23K AUD on the water. Thanks for watching the video and adding to the discussion!
You can buy a brand new 2021 Yamaha Ex for $6,999 in the states! And it comes with the killer TR-1 engine, which is fantastic! Then you just add all the fishing equipment for $2,000 to $3,000! All totals around $10,000! The trailer will cost you about $700.
@@travelguy1564 Yeah the bloody "Aussie Tax"- freight, exchange rate hedging, plus local markups for the distribution chain knock us around here. The EX series though is only around $12-14K AUD (about $10K USD) on the road here. It's a bit low in storage space and seat comfort, but has the great engine as you say, good hul ect. It just needs some storage/esky/rod holders to go do some more serious fishing. Thanks for watchng and commenting Travel Guy!
Hi Angel C. Thanks for watching the video. I assume you are speaking about the pods on the side called "Tubbies". They are only currently available from Racetech Yamaha in South Africa (the manufacturer) or Shoreline Yamaha in Australia who are our local Yamaha dealers here and actually were the original designer of the Tubbies. I have heard that Racetech have been in negotiation with a US distributor, but I haven't heard anything more so COVID19 might have delayed things. I'd expect there will be some general announcements should they get the deal together. Not a week goes past when I don't get asked where to buy in the US! I also know some guys in New Zealand who have bought and imported their Tubbies by contacting Racetech in Durban. Good luck! They are really fantastic and turn your ski into a serious offshore fishing craft. Thanks again, and please subscribe to this channel if you haven't already. It helps the channel grow.
