This is one of Kirk Hammett's best solos, in my opinion. Another of my favorite songs from the Black album I recommend is "Wherever I May Roam"...love you guys and all that you do! Peace & Love from the great State of Georgia 🙂
Excellent recommendation. Probably my favorite from the Black record. I played this death when it came out when I was in High School.
ANOTHER BANGER!!! :)
The struggle of life.... Poetry at it's finest!
WHO CARES WHAT ANYBODY SAYS IF ITS GREAT ITS GREAT!!!!!
🤘🏽😎
Love em
Hate them
They lost fans
They gained fans
They never stop, they never quit ,cause their Metallica 🔥🤘🏽🔥
Love this album…my son, Chance and I used to listen to this before he passed away…I miss him 🇨🇦🖖🏻💔
This song is pure goosebumps
ikr i think it is my favorite from them
My favorite Metallica song. Still remember how I felt in 1991 hearing first time. It hit so hard.
@@tromedl yep the 90s were awesome
I hope they listen to the rest of the Unforgiven Trilogy, ESPECIALLY Unforgiven 3 wich is very underrated in my opinion
Love 3 🤘
Ironically I think 3 is the worst, 2 isn't bad.
I'm with @metalmark1214 . I think 3 is by far the worst. Its a decent song, but imo, it does not belong in The Unforgiven realm.
@@smdrocker 100%. Unforgiven 1 is a masterpiece. Unforgiven 2 perhaps not as good but it's as good of a sequel you could hope to have. Unforgiven 3 is nowhere close. Very weak chorus.
@@DM-rc4yu It's like Godfather trilogy.
If you guys haven't checked out Welcome Home (Sanitarium), please do. That song gets me every time
This song was "controversial" because it wasn't thrash and had acoustic guitars.
Which meant that people completely forgot that Ride The Lightning was one of the first metal records to begin with an acoustic guitar intro.
Yeah, accurate...BUT...
After the acoustic intro on "Ride The Lightning" the rest of the song ripped your face off...this song, not so much...
@@ca9968 Wrong
@@DM-rc4yu How so? They are both great songs but a different vibe fo sho.
@@ca9968unforgiving is better than ride the lightning
@@MrOasis316 to you...
it even had keyboard synths in there, one of their best albums. The production is sick af
you really should have done the music video guys, its amazing, make sure you check it out at some point
I agree, watch the video for it!
Metallica is EVERYTHING!! They are metal they are alternative they are grunge and they are classic rock
The lyrics are so heavy on this one definitely on my list of favorite Metallica songs
Yes...gotta do the trilogy!!! The Unforgiven II & III
Two live gigs with Metallica this weekend 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Unforgiven 2 is my favorite. I like all 3.
I remember when this album came out. There were several that came out in this time frame that were just pure magic! I don't think there has been an equivalent since then.
I was 12yrs old when the Black Album came out. The old cassette tapes. Love this song and had to rewind to listen to it again and again. 33yrs later it still doesn't get old and got spotify to replay now!
The Black album is Metallica's mainstream album. Hated by some old school fans but brought in many in the mainstream.
I enjoyed the heck out of this record. And I thought it was hilarious that it got labeled as alternate rock. Like wtf are you hearing.
A great rock record...
I was one of those old school Metallica fans that thought this album was great. People love to hate change and Metallica had too much talent to limit themselves to a certain style.
I love their first 4 front to back…The Black Album is really good but not on the level as a whole…however a few songs are like this one
@@MHDU42 I'm a little bit younger. I was in Jr High when Justice came out. So that record was my introduction to Metallica. Didn't hear Kill Them All until I was 19 or 20. So my opinion is a probably a bit skewed.
Part one from the point of view of an angry young man who blames his parents and society for his failures , part 2 is the point of view of an older man now experiencing life with partners and the complications those relationships bring, and blaming those relationships for his current failures, part 3 is from the view point of an even older man that has gained the wisdom to realize that all the failures in his life were his own doings and no longer blames anyone but himself. It’s a beautiful trilogy
The 3 songs are actually about James Hetfield and his life. The problems he had with his father.
Do all 3! They are all perfect in their own ways
Never Free,Never Me !
Kirk’s best solo. He couldn’t get it right in the studio and producer Bob Rock told him to quit screwing around and get it done. What he played then is what you hear on the album.
You really need to check out Metallica's Bleeding Me. Very deep. About James' Alcoholism.
I will be seeing Metallica in Edmonton and then Seattle at the end of summer. Oh baby! 🎉
THIS IS THE BEST UNFORGIVEN. ABOUT THE BEST GUITAR SOLO IN METAL. THIS SONG IS FIRE.
PLEASE DO HERO OF THE DAY ALSO.
I remember the metalheads back in the day bemoaning that Metallica had "sold out" with this album. It was the first one of theirs I actually liked if that says anything about me. 😂
What about when they sold out with "...And Justice For All"? And "Puppets"? And "Lightning"?
The whiners have always been complaining.
Decades: 70's was Led Zeppelin, 80's , Metallica, 90's Pearl Jam, 2000's Foo fighters and the 2010's Greta Van fleet. I want to ROCK 🪨 and ROLL 🥐!
Yeah, how dare they make music that they want to make.
👍 This Metallica song is one of my favorites.
It's mainly because it brought in the mainstream that would know metal if it hit them over the head 😂
Seen them 7 times and counting 🤟🤘
They intended it to be a reverse rock song. The chorus is light and the verses are heavy, the opposite of a typical song
This is another great song from an Awesome band. Part 2, part 3 of “ The Unforgiven” are 2 completely different songs. I think you both will like them also.
To me, one of their absolute best songs is Welcome Home Sanitarium, and if you want to see another side of Metallica, check out the Four Horseman or Seek and Destroy.
LOVE THIS SONG!!! LOVE THIS ALBUM!!! Loved it since it hit the air!! Many early Metallica fans, from what I understand, did NOT like the Black Album and thought it a "sell-out" by the band of their original sound....but, I like their older stuff, and their newer stuff - just a bunch of TALENTED GUYS!!! I mean: HOW could ANYONE listen to this song and NOT like it (that's the way I feel)....love the LYRICS, as well. SO, SO GOOD!!! Hetfield's vocals, Lars' Drums - and the guitar work of Hetfield & Hammett: JUST SO GOOD!!! ENJOY!!!
This song is fantastic. James is an incredible singer and song writer
I've seen them 3 times and they kicked my ass every time. You guys should check out And Justice for all which is a banger as Phil would say 😂 Tuesdays Gone a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd song by Metallica is fire and fun. Peace out guys ✌️ ☮️
All Unforgivens are great. 3 is my favorite.
my fav music Metallica
Their documentary film "A Year And A Half In The Life of Metallica" is about the making of this album.
A fun watch if you ever get the chance. ❤
Unforgettable; one of the songs that got me through high school. ❤️🔥
You should try Until It Sleeps and Wherever I May Roam. Those are my favourites on this album and I don’t think anyone has done Until it Sleeps🇨🇦🖖🏻
I grew up by hearing this song from thousands miles away from you where the band originated and now you are telling me that you are listening it for the first time??!!
Looking forward to your reaction to The Unforgiven 2 and 3 😊
I’m not a huge Metallica fan but the unforgiven trilogy of songs is the best trilogy ever. Might be the only trilogy ever but that doesn’t diminish it. Please make sure to do 2 and 3.
Iron Maiden has one too. Charlotte the Harlot, 22 accatia avenue, and bring your daughter to the slaughter:)
You wait till you get to until it sleeps banger, king nothing banger, bad seed great riff, the struggle within one of there best solo
Great reaction guys 🤘
You gotts listen to the new songs from 72 Seasons... his voice on that album is just godly, especially on Inamorata
Really great songwriting 🔥🔥🔥
Master of Puppets is my favorite especially live 🤯
best of the unforgiven trilogy
Awesome ballad.
They would play this song at dance club.
Coconut bay.
Pensacola florida
What a great fade out
FYI, the unforgiven is a western movie (1992) staring Clint Eastwood, gene hackman, Morgan Freeman.
I think the acoustic guitar and the bell give it that spaghetti western feel.
This is slightly weird because the black album was released a year before the film was. ????
I think you would enjoy the Metallica video, "The Memory Remains." 🤘🤘🤘
An amazing video
Beautiful.
Yeah i think this is his best vocal performance in terms of melodies and feelings (sentimental/sad and angry)! Sometimes i am ok with his voice, sometimes it’s very expressive in a very well and balanced way, not the best voice for me, but fits good with the songs i like from metallica; Fade to black, wherever i may roam, master of puppets, one, the day that never comes, creeping death, disposable heroes, for whom the bell tolls! I btw. i also like “orion” and the call of ktulu! (Great instrumentals, especially orion)
But mostly I don’t like his voice live, with the same songs, especially in recent times
A friggen masterpiece 👊🏽⚡️James perfectly taps into the frustration of living in this God forsaken reality.
James knew it was coming!
Great song! Wherever I may roam from the same album is great too!
I love the black album but then again I love all their albums well maybe not St Anger haha but all the rest!!
I really love the whole "The Unforgiven" trilogy, and I really hope you react to the other 2, and some songs from the "Death Magnetic" album, because it is an underrated album in my opinion. Anyway, cheers from Brazil guys! 🤘🏿🔥🤘🏿
Great reaction guys
Try reacting to That Was Just Your Life. Badass as well. The House That Jack Built is great too.
Great reaction as always !! Please react to Metallica live Seattle 1989 Battery !! Cheers !!
All 3 of the Unforgiven songs are good. Personally, i think Unforgiven 3 is the best of the 3 songs. My favourite from this album is My friend of misery.
Love to see you do some Queensryche songs 🎵😅😅😅
Check out S & M! They team up with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and it’s soooo good!
One of the best traks of this album, try ¨Wherever i may roam ¨same album next time!
Male and female brain made me smile way too hard.
Tienen que escuchar la trilogia de Unforgiven por favor 🤜🤛
loved tttheyir a super lot. top notch level of quality. I feel like ttheyy just keep getting better and better. 😵Was also wondering have you theyard of October Ends? they's new song is fire! You should react to it
Fire 🤘🏼👊🏻
You guys should check out No Leaf Clover, live at San Francisco with the San Francisco orchestra.
Has nothing to do with Metallic but I would like to suggest that you guys check out more stuff by Radiohead actually. Made something off 'Ok Computer' or maybe also 'Kid A' and ' In Rainbows. Whatever you guys would like to do. They have a gigantic discography of banger after banger. Anyways its just my suggestion ^^
Check out I want out by Helloween. Same lyric meaning along the line
If I didn't know the actual meaning, I would draw the same conclusion. However, this is about the childhood of James Hetfield (singer/rhythm guitarist, who writes nearly 100 % of the band's material). His parents were devout christians, in a certain part of the faith. It's called Christian Science. If you get sick you only pray to your god to heal you. No doctors. Ever. Plus you don't learn about your body. Etcetera. This is about the isolation he felt growing up and not knowing his place in the world. Also being shielded from playing with friends. One of the most emotional songs he's witten, according to him.
It's still written in a way that it can mean different things to different people. It's not too literal in that way.
Another great song that emphasizes his Christian Science upbringing is The God That Failed.
You're hitting the mainstream bands for metal. So many you may or may not ever get to.
Please react to unforgiven2
it’s another masterpiece❤
i like the album garage inc 👍👍
Struggle Within next..😉
React please to "The God That Failed" it is from same album! Love your reactions ❤❤
2 songs you must check out are. Megadeth blood of heroes and Skidrow youth gone wild.
I think Unforgiven could be one of their best mixed songs, Black Album is high class overall but i think the guitars, the bass and drums sound so good in Unforgiven. I miss Jason Newsted's bass lines.
Love King Nothing and Welcome Home (Sanitarium). Check them out.
🎶 The Unforgiven 🎶 Metallica * Original * Part 2 & 3 *
After Fade To Black & Unforgiven, ...have some fast fun with Fuel !!🔥🎸🤘
Slow clean guitar remember Morricone music film .
Check out "Turn the Page" by Metallica, which in my opinion is the best version of that song.
Wow samantha sounds like Emma stone ❤
Have you guys reacted to Fade to Black?
From listening to you talk about the song, IS why you should have watched the video.
You should do the video
I know im old but how in gods green earth you've never herd this
James Hetfield IS Mettalica
Still subscribed
Can you please react to NF-Remember this.. song is all about life's wisdom and knowledge
react to metallica the outlaw torn with san francisco symphony 1999
14:09 Yep. TH-cam unsubscribed me, too.
That IS annoying.
This is a very mixed album for me, as there are quite a few songs I skip, but the good ones-like this one-are REALLY BLOODY GOOD, mates. Now, I’m a rock ‘n’ roll guy; I like all sorts of rock ‘n’ roll, including thrash metal. But I had no problem with this album as a whole, as it still rocks. Some of the songs I thought were dumb (‘Sandman’, ‘Of Wolf and Man’ (werewolves are stupid), ‘Struggle Within’ (clearly composed on a beer mat in 3 minutes.), ‘My Friend Of Misery’ (shoulda left it instrumental; the lyrics are whinging emo rubbish); and ‘Through the Never’ (Good concept, but the atmosphere is all wrong for black gulfs of Tartarus.)
However: ‘Sad But True’, ‘Holier Than Thou’, ‘The Unforgiven’, ‘Wherever I May Roam’, ‘Don’t Tread On Me’ (depending upon my mood), and ‘The God That Failed’ are all good tunes.
The GREAT tunes from this album are 3: ‘The Unforgiven’, ‘Wherever I May Roam’, and ‘The God That Failed.’
Nice. :) I hopre you will do Unforgiven 2 and 3 as well. :)
You should listen to *(Anesthesia)-Pulling Teeth* off their first album, a bass solo by Cliff Burton (their original bassist who died in a bus accident).
Dave Mustaine, their original guitarist (who later went on to form _Megadeth)_ was also a member of the band then.
As far as your previous _Metallica_ reactions, *One* may have been the most popular song off of that album, I also think it was the worst.
🤘😎
The guitar effect could be reverb, delay, or both?
Good the Bad and the Ugly 👺
