  • On 18 August 1986, Bob Dylan attended a press conference at London's National Film Theatre to promote "Hearts of Fire", his newest silver screen venture. Directed by Richard Marquand, the film was due to begin shooting around the UK later that month. After briefly posing for the cameras with co-stars Rupert Everett and Fiona Flanagan, Dylan maintained a typically low-key presence during the press conference, his brief answers drawing chuckles from the journalists in the room.
Hearts of Fire performed poorly in the UK and was pulled from cinemas after only two weeks. It was later given a limited release in US theatres, while Dylan himself reportedly later distanced himself from the film entirely.

Most people simply don't understand him. Those that do, know how magical he is.

I bet Bob's favorite person at this press conference was the artificial grass carpet...

The kindest words ever spoken to The Press were shut up, and it goes down from there. 😊🤣😳

      @@addie2739 My favorite one:
Journalist: 'Will you be playing electric or acoustic music in the future?'
      Bob: 'Yup.'

Incidentally, Richard Marquand directed ‘Return of the Jedi.’

A living legend, been within feet of him at, at least, 10 gigs over the last 20 or more years. Sure would be nice to meet and talk, even better interview or/and play some tunes with the man. You may say I'm a dreamer.

The director, Mr Marquand, died in 1987 aged 49 of a stroke.

This film was an absolute disaster. But every film that Dylan is in usually is.

Don’t Look Back was and is really good, though. Eat The Document is also good, it’s just the fact that Dylan took editing the film in his own hands
Renaldo & Clara I always found confusing. But yeah, he’s not really the “acting” type
