I really like the vibe of your channel. I've been in tech for a while and I've worked on insane projects at the Naval Postgraduate School- Defense Resources Management Institute and more... For some reason getting hired as a technologist with other companies has been an issue, since all of us here are in tech.. You all know to study the data. One major thing I learned is this... Upon you doin such high work - smaller companies won't believe in one's longevity. So I went ahead and launched my own IT consulting business where I focus on IT Strategies/ Business Analysis and Project Management ..... Taking control of my future has been the best choice I've made instead of continuing to apply for job after job and getting nowhere ... I'll be taking lots of notes from this channel!! Thank you
Congratulatons on starting your own journey, I'm really happy to see this. It's always tough to start your own business but is so much more rewarding. Please share your journey with us time to time to help us all grow!
@@Darkeb2 Start with the companies in your immediate area.. The best places to aim for are small doctor's offices, dentists.. Professional independent practices.. This video was so helpful. I spent the last year contracting on a project for a consulting firm and now that the project has ended I'm eager to get back on another project and better market myself to new firms. Thank you for sharing!!
Gracias Hamza for the detailed video. This is what I am really in search of. I think I need to start this tech consult as soon as I have gotten the knowledge I am looking for.
Great Video Sir!Thanks a lot. It would be good if you could tell more about contracting part like how to decide price , how to get make better contracts selection To Dos and Not To Dos..
This video is amazing!!! Thanks for the information. It is so helpful. i have a question though - When you say Hybrid is this what they refer to as Corp to Corp?
You're very welcome! glad you found it informative! Yes, the consultants usually have their own LLC and the client pays the LLC, making it corp to corp. That LLC is just a legal structure so some people also do it as a 1099 contractor.
Many people I've seen go with LLC in the U.S. but that's a question a lawyer and accountant can help you with because of liability and taxes for these different structures.
Partner with someone from IT field, you need that expertise, Companies usually would like to discuss prospects with someone technical before proceeding to the contract part
Networking with colleagues, executives and decision makers. Biggest thing is to provide people with value and having testimonials. Basically sales and marketing skills have to be on point.
This is a point less, will be more appreciative to talk as good IT consultant how to find the business and how to deal with it as consultants also how to drive a project. I spent 14 minutes for zero positive impact.
The title of the video isnt how to find business or how to drive a project. But i appreciate your comment so here are some points to consider: what industry are you in and what problem do you solve? Who is having that problem? Where do those people go to search their answers or solve their problems? Can you get in front of them and provide them any value? Can you answer their questions and build good will? How are you at marketing? What tools do you know how to use for marketing? Have you done direct sales? Have you gathered a list of 100 potential customers? Do you have a website? Is your business registered? Can you accept payment if you find a client tomorrow? Do you know how to write a contract? Are you going to fulfill the service or hire people to do the work? These are all the questions I have answered for myself and have systems in place.
