Such an impactful speech, however I found it strange that when she “thanked all the Ken’s for being man enough to support women’s work” Seemu Liu wasn’t in that list…
Totally I noticed the same thing and realized then that that’s her daughter in the movie but to her credit, the speech was incredibly boring and so politically correct that it put me to sleep as well. Humour is so much more powerful than preachy speeches imo.

Nothing like a millionaire who belongs not only to the 1% of the most privileged individuals in the world today, but also in the history of humanity, telling you she's oppressed and people should give her golden awards for complaining about it. Hollywood has lost its mind.
Who is she representing exactly? Her millionaire friends? Her life doesn’t reflect the lives of 99% of the people that have walked this Earth in its entire history. She’s incredibly privileged and she doesn’t speak for every latino person, and she doesn’t speak for every woman. To stand there, receive an “award” that’s clearly without any merit and just to send a political message, and tell the world that what women need to improve their lives and achieve plenitude is to watch more f*cking movies is just delusional. That’s why that one percenter you are complaining about is so important to be given the stage and the recognition. Because before she probably became a one percenter, she too was part of the general public who wishes to be represented. I like her speech but as a autistic guy I don’t fully believe that part where she says everyone of all colors and genders are worthy of being seen because I don’t feel seen just used, and turned into either a political pawn or a disposable utility Ali want is liberate those under oppressive systems and be loved by my long distance girlfriend Laura who’s Latina from Colombia 🇨🇴 I don’t feel loved or safe in America 🇺🇸 anymore but I still want to help the people in it because I’d be no different then those who left me to suffer in silence all those years ago
She’s a phenomenal woman 🤍 America inspired me to learn Spanish. I’m surprised this speech didn’t get the recognition it deserved. I studied representation in literature in 2015 and it still seems like a foreign concept. Hopefully by the time the next generation moves through film we will be able to see even more exceptional representations of Honduran women like yourself.
