Merci France musique.

It is so amazing! What wonderful musicians to play it! Love this concert very much. I wish I could be at the theater to enjoy it there. Again, wonderful cellist, violinist, orchestra, director and music! 100!
I attended this concert in Paris, it was extraordinary! After the concert Gidon Kremer and Giedre Dirvanauskaitė had an encore . I tried desperately to find out what it was. Can anyone help me?
Both concertos are wonderful violin and this one , but for some reason this double concerto is better, at least for me.By the way the escore is extremely hard , especially in the rhythmic part.
Don't soloists learn concertos any more? Thought that was the whole idea of a concerto. Members of the orchestra read from the music but the soloists don't. I wish Brahms had been in the audience. 🙂
Tries to avoid every pre-existing motif in the repertoire. As for the viral toe-tapping…it’s now copied to warm up banal compositions everywhere these days.
ugh - what a deadly, horrible, and extremely dull piece - and for heaven's sake could Glass had at least given the soloists an interesting melody to play when the orchestra is silent ? - everything sounds disjointed and without focus - of course we have to bring up the triangle, snare drum and wood block to wake us up every now and then, only to hear a sequence of equally dull harmonic shifts played over Glass' typically sterile and predictable rhythmic pitter patter

Val Lamon 😂 I love Philip Glass ''pitter patter'' and I don't need the triangle, snare drum and wood block to wake me up. p.s. And I am not an uneducated person in art and music. 😂
@@Marcus_Sylvester oh isn't it fun disagreeing and fighting with people about classical music ? ha ha - kinda makes one appreciate how people fought back in the old days about Stravinsky's Rite of Spring !
Maybe try thinking out side the box for once…? Glass is making a statement, he is creating concert music without following any tradition. He is using a new combination of instruments and making something so different then what anyone has ever created.
This music is unbelievable. I am so happy that I have found it here...
Philip Glass has a high sense of drama and his music has a wonderful meditation quality to it. 👍 👍 💖
Giedre, fantastiškai groji 😍

Unmistakably Philip Glass.
Philip Glass never learnt the fundamental lesson about composition - "Don't compose the same work twice!"
So there shouldn't be any 'Variations on a theme'?
@@michaelthoseby4682 I wish he would write countless scores again.
Philip Glass, Sofia Gubaidullina, Arvo Part - proud of Modern Musical Culture.
