Most underrated RB of all-time. One of the all-time greats yet you never hear about him. Wild.
Some how, some way it appears great receiving backs are penalized for having hands.
Marshall Faulk I feel suffers from this.
I am just realizing that Thomas might have run THE best wheel routes in football.
Roger Craig was the pioneer of the dual threat running back, but Thurman Thomas revolutionized it.
Bo gets all the accolades but Thurman (and the Bills in general) was a monster in Tecmo Super Bowl.
I'm so glad the Pro Bowl team has Thurman and Bo together. So many blowout victories on both of their backs.

I'm a Lions fan and I love Barry Sanders above all RBs. Gotta remember that Barry backed up Thurman in college at OSU, though. Maybe one of the best 1-2 punch RB combos in college football in my lifetime. Respect.

ONE OF THE MOST UNDERATED BACKS THE GREAT THURMAN THOMAS!! I HAD THE PLEASURE OF WATCHING HIM!!
He would put up at least 100 yards of production every Sunday, catching the ball all over the field, running sideline to sideline, or right through the (very good) line, then break ankles in the open field. One of the best backs ever, on one of the most prolific offenses ever. I remember the toss play in the first Madden worked almost every time for a huge gain. Then Bruce would get 10 sacks a game- they were so good!!

Perfect back in that K-Gun offense. Would punish you many different ways. Considering the era, they had a really potent offense. Shame they couldn’t beat NYG in that 1st SB. That was, by far, their best opportunity.

It's funny, everyone talks about Barry Sanders being the best ever. I think Barry had the best moves ever but Thurman Thomas was one of the most Complete blacks of all time. I put him up there with Walter Payton and Marcus Allen. Some people don't even know who he is. A shame.

BreuckelensFinest Thurman Thomas was Marshall Faulk, before Marshall Faulk. He was a great RB, great runner, and great pass catcher. He and Emmitt Smith, were probably the best complete backs, during the 90’s.

He wasn't a guy who was the best at any ONE thing - wasn't the absolute best at moves, speed, acceleration, breaking tackles, power, etc. But he was really really good at all of those things, and catching, and pass blocking. Might be the most complete running back in history - Herschel Walker is the only one who's close, and only because he was also a dangerous kick returner too.
Fun fact at Oklahoma State, Thurman started in front of fellow hall of famer Barry Sanders.
